Quake II: The BEST FPS EVER!!!

Intro:
Hi, I'm my name is Christian and Quake II rox00000r. I've joined Neoseeker back in November 2000 because I got some random mailing for my FAQ's. So I submitted them, and I entered a contest to win an Acoustic Edge (a soundcard).

To my utmost surprise, I was one of the winners. Thanks to the 5.1 surround sound, I now enjoy Quake II even more. Thanks Phillips and Neoseeker.

Quake II:
I started playing Quake II back in 1998. In fact, 1998 was a great year also because France won the World Cup in... well France.

I quote: "Not tonight Ronaldo!" - ABC Sports Announcer.

...but back on topic. I used to play Q2 on my Pentium 200 MMX with 128 sdram on a Matrox Milennium II and M3D. The PowerEXTREME api was wonderful, but the next holiday season I finally got my Voodoo Banshee by Diamond MM. Quake was here, to STAY. Glide is revolutionary I assure you.

This is the time I founded my Quake II clan: The Shadow Clan. We were a whole bunch of 33.6 and 56k users. We had a few LPB's with their cable and ISDN connections but we all knew deep in our hearts they really sucked compared to us because they played with 50 ping while we played with 250-550. Yes, we still played with 500 ping back in the day.

We won and lost about 50/50 of our matches. We had a server called The Paragon and we really hated this other clan KOR because they stole a member from us. Not only that, he played against us in a clan match and cheated. Back then you didn't have bot protection so... we were pissed.

This is when I started the Anti-Cheating Webring. It was flourishing until Xoom/NBCi went out of business. It was featured @ Bluesnews, Planetquake, and Redwood. I also started a Rocket Arena 2 tourney but it never left the ground. I was understaffed as a junior in high school trying to get into college. But all that matters now is I still play Quake II... 'nuff said.

Green Ribbon Campaign, click and learn. The Shadow Clan and I fully support it. Well it was mostly MY decision...sigh

My former banner because I only play Quake II and Soul Calibur. Friends don't let Friends play Tekken.

Soul Calibur:
What an awesome game... so awesome. Never have I been this dedicated to a fighting game since Street Fighter II or Mortal Kombat II. The gameplay was superior to all the previous fighting systems I was ever introduced to.

Funny thing, this is the only reason I bought a Dreamcast for. This is still the main game I play on it, as for PC that's still Quake II.

I have a pretty good win ratio versus most my opponents: ~5:1 ratio. But I'm also afraid the new SC will let me down. Especially since Sophitia isn't there for me.

Computers:
The main reason I'm here on Neoseeker is because of computers. I love computers. I dig them... A LOT. Fast ones, slow ones, big ones, small ones, it doesn't matter if I can use it I like it. Here are two of my current setups with the specs of my first computer an NEC 466.

Eva:
Intel 486DX2 66 mhz
16 RAM
Onboard video
Soundblaster 16
Onboard 9600 baud modem

Shodan:

Voodoo 5 5500
