Well I got to say that this Christmas was a different kind of Christmas for me! Up until recently I have been living with a friend since I moved out of my parents house due to problems, I had nowhere to go this X-Mas, my friend was going up to San Francisco, CA to visit his folks. I decided to turn off my phone and just do some solo driving around California(of course not getting to far away from home), to see what other people where doing and to see how other celebrate it. I saw a lot of nice decorations in the upper class community and some decent ones in the lower-class areas, where it did look wonderful was in the places where it snowed, like Frazier park and Wrightwood. The solo-tour took about 6 hours, it was pretty nice and well worth the money I spent on gas, it was a trip to ponder on about and to meander. I could have done other things but I wanted to have a different X-Mas this time around cause other times I would just go to X-Mas partys and hang-outs but not this time, party's are what gets me in trouble anyways. Around 8 PM I went to my parents house to give them some gifts, to show them that I do care unlike them, I gave my mom a gift card and my dad a Gillete Fusion Razor which he had been wanting. I came back home around 8:40, I checked my phone and I had a lot of missed calls and texts from friends and party invites, I didn't care though. I put on some music and started drinking, it was my first time in a while that I had drank alone, I got inebriated that night but it was awesome in a sense.
Well I thought I wasn't going to have a Thanksgiving this year since my parents were out of state and weren't coming back until December 4. I thought of going to one friends Thanksgiving but I thought I would be imposing too much. So I give my girlfriend a call and ask if I can spend Turkey Day with her and her family, she game me the ok but said her parent would have the final decision. Nonetheless I went over her mom said it was ok for me to go with them but her dad was just being a grump, he's all like "well I don't think there is room in the car(SUV) for you." Since they were going some miles out of town to spend the day on a relatives house that was HUGE. So regardless I say "I have my car, I can drive there." He started making excuses like "you'll get lost, you dont know the way" and other related excuses. But his wife ended up convincing him. So like at 4:00 P.m we were on our way. I was tailgating their SUV to get to the house. Luckily my girlfriend was riding in the car with me, God knows her dad would have probably try to loose me. Well anyways it ocurrs to me to go get some Dutch apple pies at the store so I take a detour to get them, I got like 3 with my own money. Then were on our way back and I hear her cell phone ring, it was her dad asking were we wen't. Jeez what a grouch, and it's a Holiday, the DAY when you are supposed to put differences aside and show love for one another. So we get to the house around 5:00 and there was a load of people outside just socializing, and we get in and start helping in making the turkey and all the preparations. Everyone took me as a good person, although my girlfriend had to do an introduction for everyone we greeted which was slow. People actually took a liking to me, unlike her dad lol. Also they didn't mind at all the pies that I had brought. Around 7:00 we started dining, my gf's dad continued being a jerl and made me do the "honors" since I was the 'special guest', I think he wanted me to look like a fool but I played ot off quite well. Some hours later it was time to sleep, I had to sleep on the couch since all the guest rooms were taken, but I slept good that night. We were planing on driving back but it was too late to drive back, at least that was what my gf's mom said. Thats the end of my Turkey day, I actually had it quite well, since all the Thanksgivings I had before that weren't really big or fancy, so it was a good change. Thanks to my gf, what a life saver, saved me from being alone on thanksgiving. :)
Just this past Saturday night I was shot at by a car driving by. It was really dark the street had a liquor store that was closed, the other side was a car shop, and the block was made by two alleys. I was just walking home like at 10:00 pm when the car came and opened fire, luckily I ducked and no bullet struck me.
They must have confused me for some gang member cause I am not in a gang and never been in one either. It was pretty dramatic, at first I just took it as normal since all the things I see on Tv and media but then it hit me, what would have happened if a bullet struck me on the head or heart? I would have been another statistic casualty on the news. Then I thought to myself wow, I really came close to a death situation, but now I'm over it, I'm back to being myself, shit like this happens all the time in south L.A.
