    My Neoseeker History:
I'm Thunder850. I've been on Neo for over 6 years now. I'm generally an intelligent person.

Also, I tend to go by Thunder. The reason behind me adding the 850 to my name still baffles me, considering the name "Thunder" was still available at that time.

Since I joined in 2006, I've gotten a lot busier over time, so I'm not on nearly as much anymore. In fact, my PPD has quartered since mid-2007 (my PPD was about 9 back then, now it's around 2.5...)

    A Bit About Me:
I'm an average high school student who lives in the US. I love metal music (actually, just rock music in general), and love playing video games. My other interests include watching TV, using the computer, Boy Scouts, and playing the piano. I'm a somewhat unique person.

These are all of the bands that I listen to (alphabetically):

As you can see, my music taste is mixed...at least, mixed in the rock category. I simply love rock music. A majority of the songs on my iPod are heavy metal (and a majority of those songs are some form of extreme metal) but honestly, I have a taste of many different kinds of rock, from early classic rock (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones), 70's Classic Rock (The Who, Aerosmith), early forms of punk rock (The Ramones, The Sex Pistols), a few tastes of New Wave (Duran Duran, Talking Heads), 90's grunge and alternative rock (Nirvana, Stone Temple Pilots), and various forms from the 2000's (30 Seconds to Mars, Muse). In addition, I also have a lot of post-hardcore, pop punk, progressive rock, etc. Anyways, I love rock. If it's rock, I probably like it. However, as it may seem, I'm not completely limited to rock, I've experimented with a lot of other genres.

    TOP PICKS

I Like: Heavy Metal Music (and all of it's subgenres), Post-Hardcore, Alternative Rock (actually, I pretty much like all types of rock music), Video Games, Neoseeker, Sleeping, hanging out with my friends, girls, playing the guitar, Redditing, and...probably a few more things that I haven't mentioned.

I Hate: Hip Hop Music, Mainstream Pop Music, Country Music, Some Dubstep (some of it, I have liked a couple of songs...), school, religious wackjobs who forget about seperation of church and state, religious wackjobs in general, right-wing Republicans, racists, sexists (actually, generally intolerant people), and finally, dumbasses (other than to laugh at).

All-Time Favorite Video Game: Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy

    Music

I have sort of a distinct taste in music. My favorite genre of music is heavy metal, and unlike a lot of other metalheads, I am open to absolutely all subgenres of metal. I always see metalheads that say they hate metalcore, or hate nu metal...I'm open to all metal, from alternative metal to viking metal to grindcore. My favorite metal bands have to be Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, and System of a Down, but you can check out my band list further down on my profile.

Additionally, I have a taste for punk rock, particularly post-hardcore. Post-hardcore has to be my favorite non-metal genre, though I'm open to all rock music.

Now, there's music I don't like that much. I pretty much hate most pop music. When I say "pop music", while it normally refers to generally popular music, I am referring to what's literally classified as pop, because it really doesn't fit anywhere else. When I say I hate pop music, I'm not referring to Michael Jackson or the Beatles, I'm referring to the crap you hear on 100 different radio stations. I hate hip hop music, along with a lot of other people...it's just not my style. I also don't like country, and don't like a lot EDM (big note: I love Enter Shikari). You can say that I'm intolerant of other people's tastes in music, but I'm really not (I used to be...), it's just my personal taste.

My favorite band is Avenged Sevenfold. In October of 2010, my friend was talking to me about some awesome metal band he'd discovered called Avenged Sevenfold. A couple months later, I purchased what was said to be A7X's best song...Afterlife. I loved Afterlife so much, that I purchased all of Nightmare, which had the highest ratings at the time. Over time, I slowly started getting random songs from their various albums (Bat Country, Almost Easy, etc.) Eventually, I purchased a Waking the Fallen CD in Apri of 2011l, followed by City of Evil the following June, and Sounding the Seventh Trumpet in the following August. I got their self-titled album and Diamonds in the Rough digitally. So, basically, I have all of their songs, including the newest single, "Carry On." My two favorite songs by them are Trashed and Scattered and A Little Piece of Heaven...they have a lot of good songs.

Disturbed is my second favorite band. They were my favorite band for quite a while, and the band that got me into heavy metal. I discovered them for the first time in April of '08, playing their Ten Thousand Fists song, "Stricken," in Guitar Hero III. I liked it so much, that I bought Ten Thousand Fists and Indestructible in a CD store without even knowing any of the songs in it. Of course, I loved just about every song on it, which led me to buying Believe last August. Finally, I then bought The Sickness, along with Asylum, for a total of 63 (at that point) Disturbed songs on my iPod, in addition to several music videos.
I then acquired the non-album/bonus Disturbed songs, including Run (which is great, by the way), Two Worlds, Parasite, Monster, Hell, etc. I have gotten all known Disturbed songs = 83. Then, about 6 months later, they released all of those songs on an official album, The Lost Children. Haha.
My favorite Disturbed songs are Inside the Fire and The Night...and pretty much everything else.

My third favorite band is System of a Down. They're an Armenian-American alternative metal band. They have some weird-ass stuff, but it's all awesome. I've been into their music since around March of 2011, and since then, I've acquired all of their albums. Since their hiatus ended last year, I'm really looking forward to seeing a new album by then, but I'm still waiting...My favorite songs by them are Radio/Video and Lost in Hollywood, although my opinions on their songs change pretty frequently.
