Some quotes.
.: Catch-22 :.
'Do you know how long a year takes when it's going away?' Dunbar repeated to Clevinger. 'This long.' He snapped his fingers. 'A second ago you were stepping into college with your lungs full of fresh air. Today you're an old man.'
'Old?' asked Clevinger with surprise. 'What are you talking about?'
'Old.'
'I'm not old.'
'You're inches away from death every time you go on a mission. How much older can you be at your age? A half minute before that you were stepping into high school, and an unhooked brassiere was as close as you ever hoped to get to Paradise. Only a fifth of a second before that you were a small kid with a ten-week summer vacation that lasted a hundred thousand years and still ended too soon. Zip! They go rocketing by so fast. How the hell else are you ever going to slow time down?' Dunbar was almost angry when he finished.
'Well, maybe it is true,' Clevinger conceded unwillingly in a subdued tone. 'Maybe a long life does have to be filled with many unpleasant conditions if it's to seem long. But in that event, who wants one?'
'I do,' Dunbar told him.
'Why?' Clevinger asked.
'What else is there?'
.: Alex in Everything Is Illuminated :.
I have reflected many times upon our rigid search. It has shown me that everything is illuminated in the light of the past. It is always along the side of us, on the inside, looking out. Like you say, inside out. Jonathan, in this way, I will always be along the side of your life. And you will always be along the side of mine.
.: Catcher in the Rye :.
If a girl looks swell when she meets you, who gives a damn if she's late? Nobody.
Don't ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.
I was half in love with her by the time we sat down. That's the thing about girls. Every time they do something pretty, even if they're not much to look at, or even if they're sort of stupid, you fall half in love with them, and then you never know where the hell you are. Girls. Jesus Christ. They can drive you crazy. They really can.
.: The Five People You Meet In Heaven :.
Some people think of Heaven as a Garden of Eden...But what is scenery without solace?
.: The Dark Knight :.
Do you wanna know... why I use a knife? Guns are too quick. You can't... savour... all the little... emotions. Y'see, in their last... moments, people show you who they really are. So, in a way, I knew your friends better than you ever did.
Would you like to know which of 'em were cowards?
Biography
Feel free to add me to MSN, just lemme know who you are.
Well, I'm 19, currently residing in Dublin but that's not for long, I've just been working with my Dad for the summer. I'm at university in Galway, Ireland, studying English and Classics. Hopefully I'll become a teacher but my real ambition is to run my own café one day.
I was born in '89 in Bangor, Co.Down. Due to, erm, circumstances, we moved from Bangor to Ratoath, Co.Meath, in 1992. After five years there we eventually moved to the middle of nowhere in Co.Donegal, which was where my parents are originally from. We've been living there since. It's God's country up there, if any of you reading this ever come to Ireland, make sure and take a trip up there.
I play guitar as well, I write songs, the lyrics to some can be found in the Writer's Lounge somewhere. I'm not too proud of the songs I write but they all mean something to me I guess...
Just wanna have a little part for all the folks I've met on Neo over the years. Most of them probably won't read this but I think they deserve a spot anyway. Jill, Sspider, Zetram, Ronin, SXH, Matrixmaster and any of the old RP crowd I'm forgetting... they were some really good frickin times. Everyone in the footie forums, even (and maybe especially), the ones I argue with. Footie is probably my main reason for coming back to Neo again and again. Best forum in the place. To folks I've only started chatting to recently as well, you know who you are, I'm loving it so far. I always seem to attract the nicest peoples.
