Mario Golf: Advance Tour User Reviews

Nice Game!

The good:

Great RPG elements
Strong gameplay interface
Lots to do
Challenging

The bad:

Story mode has no proper story
Moronic doubles partner
A lack of a 'Mario' feeling

Summary:

The Mario Golf series has been going for a while now, and while it hasn't enjoyed the runaway success the Kart series has there is no denying that it has become a solid spinoff series. So, now here I am, GBA at the ready to take to the holes once again, but this round of golf has a different flavour than what I'm used to.

But first, let's address a more aesthetic issue. When I first got into the game something seemed strangely familiar. This isn't a game I've played before, and yet the looks and sounds lingered in my mind. Developed by Camerlot it seems that, on the visual and audio fronts, ...

Mario Golf: Advance Tour is a good game

The good:

Graphics, the gameplay is great, sound is decent.

The bad:

No mini golf... repetitive, plot line was ok but, not the best.

Summary:

The graphics of this game are good for a GBA game. They could look weird at times. It has good mini games but, there is very few of them. The sound in this game is decent. The gameplay is great. RPG and sports game combined is a great idea. You could build up your own character. You could link this game to Mario Golf:Toadstool Tour for the GameCube. You get great unlockables such as characters. The connectivity to Toadstool Tour is great for this game.

No mini golf again. It was a great feature in Mario Golf for the N64. This game gets repetitive. Plot line was ok but, not the best.

Mario Golf: Advance Tour

The good:

Decent graphics, multiply levels of play, a little additive, multi player on one system and game

The bad:

very weak plot line, will get boring for those of you don't like golf, annoying speech sound

Summary:

From the people who created the Golden Sun games comes Mario Golf where you guild your character(s) through the game of golf. Be the number one golfer!
Graphics: The details are very good in this game and so are the characters. However, some of the backgrounds are too simply or plain and they only show you hitting the ball on the fairways and never opponents or your partner. But it is a decent effort. (4.0/5.0)
Gameplay: I wish I could play this well at golf in real life! You basically guild a character around the various golf courses and games and gain experience to upgrade your skills. Yo...
