The Legend of Dragoon

The good:

The game was overall.......awesome. I mean the storyline was well thought of and the little movie scenes were pretty good graphics.

The bad:

The only things I thought were bad about this game is the hard leveling up and the dialogue.

Summary:

When I first started playing The Legend of Dragoon, I told myself, "OK, when I write up my review, I won't focus on its similarity to Final Fantasy VII (FF7) like everyone else has." Well, here I am writing my review, and all I can think about is its similarity to FF7, and how stale and unoriginal the whole experience is. This game is such a rip-off of Square's FF7 that I can't believe Sony hasn't been taken to court for copyright infringement. Three years in the making and over 100 brains on the development team—and this is the result? In a year full of copycat RPGs, Dragoon was touted as ...

The Legend of Dragoon

The good:

This game has an amazingly epic and great story. It has almost as many twists as FFX, and that's saying something. I won't ruin anything for you but let's just say that by disc 3 you will have your jaw on the floor.

This game has a very strong quick paced and engaging battle system. Even though at times some of the additions (essentially combo attacks initiated by pressing the attack button at the right time) will make you wish that you had stayed with everyone's original addition {which is honestly what I did}.

This game has very decent graphics for the time that it was released, the character modles look beautiful and the characters themselves have very entertaining personalities; certain characters will make you laugh your pants off.

The bad:

On the negative side the overworld map is a little frustrating, where it seems like every 5 steps you run into an enemy. Also if you're one of those gamers who like alot of side quests then prepare to be dissappointed, as there's only 4 or 5 of them. Also whenever you go back to certain parts of the map the game will make you insert a different disc for that area.

Summary:

This was my first RPG that I played as a young lad, so I quite literally grew up with this game and I feel that any and every RPG fan should add this to their library. Quite honestly this game ranks higher than FF7 for the category of old school RPGs for me.

The game is quite generous to those who play and search everything for stardust, as it's well worth the reward you get for finding it all. The game lets you pick party members as you go, although players should make sure that later in the game either Rose or Shawna is included in the party, as their special skills are good for healing yo...

Legend Of Dragoon RPG game

The good:

* The Story
* The Additions
* The characters
* The locations
* The monsters, and the others who you must defeat

The bad:

I have not so much Bad things, because LOD is a great game, with a lot of good things..

*No Dragoon additions

Summary:

* The Story is good because =
The game has a long story, very long, I like that, so you can play it a long time, (so you can't beat the game in one hour) and in the beginning of the game you see an movie , then you see shana lay down on the ground with a dragoon spirit, the soldiers kidnapped her to helena prison , and hold her there.
And Lavitz dies, (it's bad, but even good for this story) There are a lot of more things good with this super story.

* The Additions -
You never seen this before in the other games, this is one of the greatest thing of this game, you can make combo's , and when o...

The Legend of Dragoon; the low leveled game!

The good:

The game is very intricate, with many delicious plot twists and interesting characters. The game takes part in an unstable, humongous continent known as Endiness, in the country of Serdio, where Dart is returning to his home town of Celes, only to discover he is too late; his town has just been destroyed by the Sandoran Imperial Army, who, to Dart's disdain; have a Dragon on their side, the Green Tusked Dragon, Feybrand. And even worse, Shana, Dart's childhood sweetheart, has been taken away by the Army and a mysterious Hooded Man. Dart sets off like a crazy fool to Hellena Prison, where Shana is held captive. And Dart meets Lavitz, who is a First Knighthood of Basil. The two team up and save Shana from the cruel Fruegel, the head guard, and escape the prison and head for the Capital of Bale. They are sent on a mission to defend the Resistance HQ; Hoax. It is there that Rose, the mysterious woman that once saved Dart, joins up and they are sent to Hellena again in an attempt to save King Albert and Lavitz is killed by the Hooded Man who is actually Lloyd, who participated in a previous swordsmanship tourney. The rest is for you to find out. The game has many good features and a story that leaves you begging for more. The unique Additions System is used to string together powerful multi-hit attacks. There are many bosses, and the game spans over 4 discs, wich tells you it is a long story. I gave it a 5.9 even though it is not possible, because I think that it was a bleeping good game. It is at a very reasonable price $9.99-18.99 U.S. So go out and buy it, you fantasy lovers, you!

The bad:

The bad is that two of your party members leave your team, and the fact that you can only hold a very small amount of items and sometimes it is a pain to get rid of items to space up for new ones, but you don't want to dicth it or sell it because you may need them in the next section. And also because some of the enemies are requiring of a special combination of items, though they are worth the trouble for their rewarding, uh, rewards. And also in some areas you run into horrible monsters too easily. And it takes a really long time to level up when you have a team bigger than three. The developers claimed that the game would have more characters and a huge sequel, but it apparently was not enough to score a rival or sequel. I signed a Petion saying it is more than worthy enough for things it has yet to obtain. 2007 would be the perfect year to start a sequel or prequel. They said that the game would for sure have a sequel, but it doesn't.

Summary:

The game is unique because of its legendary Addition System, and even more famous Dragoon abilities witch allow you to use powerful magic in furious battles between hundreds of monsters and bosses. Your ability to use magic is introduced in the town of Hoax, when Rose saves you from Kongol the Giganto, who later joins you after showing great kindness. In total there are 9 playable characters, but only seven can be in your party unless you are a cheater and Game-Sharked all 9 in at once. Each character is no cheap knock-off of another character, and they each have a different p...

Legend of the Good Game

The good:

The graphics are excellent; especially for the backgrounds. Textures and colors differ from area to area expressing the games graphics. A new innovative addition system was added to this game to attacking enemies more fun and also let you have a chance to increase the amount the attack actually does. The music actually sounds pretty good for an RPG game. Especially the theme song for the boss battles against the Virages. Also, the icon above your head changes color due to how close you are to encountering an enemy:
Blue- It's all good
Yellow- Getting ready to encounter them
Red- You have a high chance in getting into battle.

Characters also aren't carbon copies of each other. All of them have their own strength and weaknesses. You'll play as 9 characters in the game, but can only have 7 in your party(unless you use a Gameshark to hack Lavitz and Shana back into the game even after they die. The game has no problems taking the code; both of them I think can still turn Dragoon, they are in cutscenes, and everything else is hunky-dory! The only thing you can't do is put Albert and Lavitz in the same battle party or Shana and Miranda or else the game gets kinda glitchy). The adventure was also big enough to make 4 Discs. Did I also mention eacg character can turn Dragoon when they earn their Dragoon Spirtit? This is what made the game fun as heck!

The bad:

They're are no voice overs except in FMV sequences and after characters complete additions. Also, the replay value is a little bit on the low side unless we have gamers who like to play games a second time. Also,you can only carry 32 items at a time and only 255 pieces of equipment. Other than these minor issues, this shouldn't discourage you from buying the game. And its at a reasonable price, too!

Summary:

Legend of Dragoon, in summary, is a great game that will provide hours of fun. Despite the minor issues, you should go out and buy this game and have the time of your life. That's why I give it a 4.9/5.0.

LoD, one of the greatest

The good:

The storyline is great, it has good graphics, and the music rocks. What else could you want...maybe transforming into awesome dragon warriors? Yeah, it's got that, too.

The bad:

In my opinion, this game didn't have any bad in it... except maybe some tough bosses, and that annoying Stardust.

Summary:

If you're looking for an in-depth storyline, LoD has it. All in all, it's one of the best games I've ever played. I'd even rank it beside some of the FF games. The replay value may not be the best, however. After you've gone through the game once, you probably won't want to spend a lot more time on it. I'd say that one of the best features is the Additions you can use in battle. Pressing a button at the right time gives your attack more power, and when you get to higher levels & use an 8-hit Addition... it's a lot of fun.
