The Legend of Kyrandia Book 1: Fables & Fiends User Reviews
The Legend of Kyrandia Book 1 has many good points to it. Beautiful scenery, fun story plot, interesting characters, and pretty good music too! It's a fantasy-filled adventure that you can really get absorbed in. I also found most, but not all the puzzles logical and able to be worked out.The bad:
You have many opportunites to die here especially in the caves!! So saving your game frequently is wise. The many rooms in the cave can make you go crazy literally! You can only carry so many items at a time so you have to be careful what you choose to bring with you as you might need these things later on in the game. Sometimes you can go back and get the items, but sometimes you can't and you have to start all over again. A few puzzles are not logical and they are more based on luck than anything else.Summary:
Definitely a good game for someone starting out on adventure games. Adventure game lovers will also find it entertaining. And remember if you are stuck at a part, just save your game and try anything you can think of!
Any open minded dreamer or adventurer would skillfully submerse themself into the world of Kyrandia. It's fantasy, fairy tale setting brings the child out of any desktop bound adventurer. The bad:
They stopped at Book 3.Summary:
This was the first adventure game I had ever played that hooked me instantly and fully captured my gaming heart. I've been playing adventure games since the text based, "go north", and "take this and that" since the Commodor. This game, along with the King's Quest Series, (up until King's Quest 8; although I did enjoy it) have defined true ADVENTURE gaming. No other games have been able to do the same for me since. Thanks to The Legend of Kyrandia: Book 1, it opened my eyes to the adventures of Kyrandia and King's Quest.
