Klonoa: Door to Phantomile User Reviews
I have to say this game was wonderful. Very emotional in some ways that I can't explain...seeing as I'd spoil the game for ya. You are in control of Klonoa who's known for his big ears, blue hat and adventurous attitude who one day seem something land at the top of a hill not far from him. With his little companion Huepow who is used inside Klonoas ring to use him as energy. Together you embark on a huge journey where you find friends and foes.
Settings are bright, colourful and are hours of fun. Avoiding and completely obstacles as you dodge or beat up the little enemies that come along that you can use to an advantage at times to beat big enemies or to get to those hard to reach places. The music with the game is something you'll enjoy tapping your feet too. Not only is some of the music so upbeat, but some can be very emotional and sad. This game also includes voices as well, though not in English it doesn't matter. The voices themselves are lovely to hear with Klonoa's cute voice and Huepow's high pitched speech.
Events and scenes are good. Througout what you find out can make you laugh and cry throughout this game as it really touched me. Also if you are the collect the dream dolls from every level you can get a secret level at the end in the tower one of your friends have been building to get the the moon kingdom. You'll need skill and speed for that level as time will be ticking.
I would have thought the bosses would have been a little harder really. They weren't much of a challenge at all to be honest. Once you know what you are doing, it's a piece of cake, which is slightly disappointing, though there are many bosses to confront. Though the graphics today aren't up to scratch, I guess they are still very impressive for the time it came out.
It would have been nice to have a little bit more to do. I think the game was slightly short, but filled up enough gamplaying time in some ways. Just wished for a little bit more to fill up the time really.
Klonoa in my opinion was a wonderful game. In some parts I have to admit it had me crying. That's why I have been saying, the game is emotional in some events. What I've loved out of it all is Klonoa himself as he is an adorable little black and white cat with his big red collar, big blue hat and wonderfully big floppy ears.
This is definitely a great RPG game to buy for all ages. It's full of challenges, adventure and most of all...FUN!
this game kicks total and complete @$$ in every way.The bad:
IT'S TOO SHORT! after you finish it you want more, more, MORE! (can't wait for Klonoa 2 on PS2)Summary:
What more can i say? This is what a video game should be. I've been playing video games since Pong, and i've never loved a game as i have Klonona. The graphics, even after seeing 128bit beauty, are superb. If you examine one particular object you might think the graphics to be simple, but the whole picture is outstanding. Nicely renderd 3D environments without the anoying bugs of all out 3D games (Klonoa is in essence a classic side scroller) The gameplay is smooth, tight, and simple, and you get the occasional dramatic camera angle to show how high or low your character (klonoa) is. And ye...
kickass graphics, superb soundtrack, briliant level design, somehow addictiveThe bad:
a bit easy to complete, might not appeal to hardened gamersSummary:
you wouldn't think that namco- the makers of tekken, soul blade and ridge racer (to name but a few) would make a cute and cudly game.
but don't be put off that the game is seemingly for kids. as this is one helluva game- the level design is kool, music is cheerful (it might annoy some of u people out there).
the only 'bad' thing about this is that it is pretty easy and you should be able to complete it in less then a week. BUT....the thing is can u collect all the hostages (i forgot what they were called) on every stage in less then a week- well u won't know unless u buy the game which is th...
Good graphics, sound, and high enjoyment level. No frustration here. The bad:
Klonoa's high-pitched repetative voice and sounds gets a little irritating after a while. No biggie, though.Summary:
This is one of the many silent wonders on the PlayStation. For the few who've had the pleasure of playing this one, you know what I'm talking about. Great graphics, catchy music, and just plain fun. No instruction books needed for this game. It's simple enough for everyone, but still has all those in-game challenges and puzzles that everyone knows and loves. This game is recommended for anyone looking for solid platforming fun!
