Legacy of Kain: Defiance User Reviews
Everything, butThe bad:
There were a couple times that 12 hours finally solved 1 puzzle...Summary:
Like most people who are into the LoK series, I started with Soul Reaver. I became a Raziel fan very quickly, the matrix of the story, and the well crafted puzzles amazed me. It took me FOREVER to beat it, but it was well worth it. Then I discovered Blood Omen 1+2. Hated them, don't know why... Then Soul Reaver 2 came out, not impressed... Then Defiance came out, HALLELUYA!!!!!!!!! About time I enjoyed a game as much as I enjoyed Soul Reaver! Wow!
Just for letter requirments for this review, I gotta say I like the way they brought the two characters together. I'm not going to spoil anything,...
One day, back when I was the proud owner of a Dreamcast, I was browsing a game store, and one game caught my eye. It had a big sticker on it, notifying me that it was reduced. It wasn't that which caught my eye however... It was the picture of some kind of demon on the front. I thought he looked cool, so I picked up the box and had a look on the back. The game was Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver. I decided to buy it, since it was reduced, and I had some spare cash at the time. I continued shopping, went home a little while later and figured I'd try my newest game out.
From that moment, I was add...
Bringing the two great stories of two great enemies together was the main highlight for this game. New fighting system. Updated graphics which is so far some of the best on PS2 so far.The bad:
Some dodgy graphics, e.g throwing enemies through walls. Some long loading times.Summary:
If your not a fan of the series then don't bother picking it up, You won't have a clue about the stories (Which is the main part of the game) or the history, which simply means, you'll get lost in what is a baffling and complicated exercise to follow Raziel and Kain as they constantly travel through time. This game does'nt really go to length to describe the past games which you need to know about to play this game or I say again you'll get lost and will only be playing for the battles.
Tha game has hot graphics and it has a good story line to go along w/ tha other Legacy of Kain's. I've never had a game that i actually was addicted too, this game owned my soul!!!!The bad:
This game should continue so it could be longer and better. But it still good.Summary:
This game was the best Legacy of Kain yet. I have all of them, but none is as good as this one. The way u use telekenetis powers iz tha best. If u want tha best game this year, pick this one. It hot tha way u switch from Raziel to Kain. They both have hot powers and combo attacks. The popwers of Raziel has grown up to be as good as Kain. And Kain too grew from his Blood Omen games. And you cannot forget the Soul Reaver sword. This gives Kain all his moves. But i hope they can come w/ another one to continue and add on to tha story, or even have a game where it takes place in tha past when ...
multileveled stroy, huge enviroments to explore, fun combat, puzzles will make you think, first rate graphics, kickin audioThe bad:
awsome story, beautiful enviroments, fun combat...thats more than enough for any game...it's one minor problem is the camera which sometimes affects control...ie leaps of faith...thus 4.9 instead of a perfect 5
so here we are once again in Nosgoth and we get to play as both Kain and Raziel...they are in the same spot but 500 yearts apart...you need to explore huge enviromentrs solving puzzles (some easy and some difficult) to get power ups for their Reaver which you can switch on the fly in combat, charge, and unleash powerful Reaver Abilities...I'm impressed at the growth of the Reaver thro...
Battle mechanics, story, architecture.The bad:
This Latest installment of Legacy of Kain has been improved and changed but still has that gameplay that makes it fun. The fact that you switch between Raziel and Kain during the storyline is great. I think that the series has been needing somthing like that for a while, but i never thought about it untill it came up. Unlike in previous titles where you can pick up weapons and use them, in this installment, you only use one weapon for each character. Kain has the reever blade and Raziel has the Wraith blade. This is good in the fact that you get familiar with one weapon instead of switch...
