Jak 2 is awesome!

The good:

- Has the good things about GTA
- Jak talks
- Dark Jak
- Amazing sounds
- Longer story
- Interesting story
- Three times as hard as the prequel

The bad:

- Also has the bad things about GTA
- Some missions can be annoying
- Zoomers too slugish and bulky

Summary:

One cannot help but say that this game is Naughty Dog's way of trying to make another GTA. They did not succeed but its still one of the best platformers on the PS2. It has the good things from GTA, like the guns. You get a balanced aresenal of guns in this game, which saves you in many situations. You don't have to resort to the classic physical attacks from the prequel. Also the freedom; you can do just about anything in the massive city. You can also steal and infinate amount of zoomers flying above you whilst on foot. They use crude humor and swear in this game too!

Jak II

The good:

Jak II is the second game in the Precursor Trilogy started by The Precursor Legacy. It's a fantastic game filled with action and plot twists. The setting is darker and appeals to an older crowd than the last game.

The graphics and animations are fabulous as far as platformers go. The story revolves around Jak being captured at the beginning of Jak II and is tortured for two years. This turns him into a demonic being called "Dark Jak" and he sends himself on a quest for revenge.

The game's setting takes place in the city of Haven. It is extremely large. It rivals Grand Theft Auto's Liberty City, if not a little bit smaller. You are given an unlimited amount of landscap-wise freedom as you roam the city.

There have also been four weapons added to the series. They resemble a shotgun, a rifle, a gattling gun and possibly a grenade launcher/shock rifle of some sorts.

There are several minigames for you to take part in. Such as the City Races. (Those actually qualify as a mission, but you can play them again after you beat the game.) There is also the gun courses and scavenger hunts.

There are also two new types of enemies. The Krimzon Guard and the Metal Heads. In order to overthrow the Baron, Jak must go unto a series of missions. The game is very long, and the Precursor Orb sidequest might take you 40 + hours of enjoyment.

The bad:

There is hardly anything bad about this game. At all. A few of the missions might get on your nerves, such as helping the Lurkers escape to their underground cities or protecting the Kid and escorting him to the Power Station.

The size of the city may be a bit too big. Several fans of the game complained about there not being enough to do in the large city.

The game's difficulty has been slightly adjusted. It is now twice as hard as Jak and Daxter : The Precursor Legacy.

Summary:

The Jak series is one of my favorite series of games on the Playstation 2. It is also among the best games the black box has to offer. I strongly advise everyone whose a fan of adventure games to buy this game. The amount of freedom the city has to offer is enormous. I hope you buy this game and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Another Series Catches The "Coolness Plague"...

Summary:

The original Jak & Daxter is a classic; Interesting Missions and challenges, impressive Graphics, well-calculated Gameplay, you name it. The only problem with it was the length. Now, Jak II: Renegade is supposedly three times as long, but you'll probably wish that it wasn't.

Unfortunately, the original game is as good as this Series has ever been. Naughty Dog has done what apparently numerous video-game companies are doing nowadays, and has drifted off onto a path which was never constructed for them.

Jak begins this game as a foul-mouthed, gun-wielding, rebellious mercenary. Having supposedl...

Jak II

The good:

- Cool looking game
- New weapons
- Vehicles
- GTA style a bit

The bad:

- Too traditional.. again
- Story just sucks
- Some missions get on your nerves
- Some missions get REALLY boring
- Too much like GTA, should be unique in its own way

Summary:

First of all, I would like to say that I enjoyed the first one more than I did Jak 2. I thought hey, it was pretty good, but now its going too much in a totally different side of gaming. The first one was a game for everyone where you can just sit and have fun with it, but now the second one is just basically another adventure + GTA game. You have the guns, the swearing, the vehicles, basically everything you have in a regular GTA game. I think J&D has really lost its touch now, because the game isn't unique in its own way anymore, but now its on the direction of going totally wrong, into a...

Not very good.

The good:

- guns
- variety fo things to do
- can go in vehicles

The bad:

- stupid mini-games
- gets boring
- story

Summary:

In every set of game reviews, you see one that says it is bad while the others say it is good, well that is mine. I found the game boring and lame. I played half way through, and just drpooed my conroller and never awoked the game again.
Sure in Jak 2, they introduce vehicles and guns, but what are thos if they are stupid? I found it to be little copies form differnt games, just put together to form a copy game. I'll admit, iit is pretty fun at the start, but I find it to be a bit dumb later on.
It gets repetive and boring. You must steal a behicle and drive to certain locations sevr...

Grand Theft Auto + Jak and Daxter = Grand Theft Jak.

The good:

Violence.
Swearing.
Vehichles.

The bad:

The Cameramen use the camera like a bunch of monkeys, or Daxters as I should say.
Difficulty keeps changing. Did monkeys do that?
It's sometimes all over too quick.

Summary:

Lastability: 6/10.
It's all over too quick I say. You could be doing this for a few days and it's all finished. You want kids to drop their drinks and pick up the pad and play this. It's supposed to last for months not days.
Sound: 8/10.
Man, all those sounds. Sorta lifelike. The guns, cars and voices. Jak even talks. YEAH!!!!!
Graphics: 6/10.
Bit lifelike. The punches, guns and other crap I've probably mentioned. Dark Jak probably had the most effort put into him, next to Daxter and Jak.
Gameplay: 6/10.
Could use some sidequests. Same gameplay besides the bits where you steal cars, Dark Jak and h...
