The Hobbit User Reviews
Before Peter Jackson directed The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, there was a game based on the novella simply known as The Hobbit. Leering at you on the game rental shelf while you check out the higher profile games it happens to be shoved right between, it was ready to grouchily plead its case to you, as if you have to rent this game and not, say, Super Mario Sunshine or Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time. Sadly, its pleas went unnoticed as you went ahead and rented a different game, enjoying that instead of this painfully mediocre game. Oh, it begged, it pleaded, it even off...
The first Hobbit game was released in 1982 by Melbourne house and was a text adventure. This game, however, was created by Sierra in 2003. The game follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit from the peace-loving land of the Shire. Along with the wizard, Gandalf, and a party of Dwarves, Bilbo is bribed into a quest to help recover the dwarves treasure, which has been stolen by Smaug the dragon.
As the prelude to the Lord of the Rings, you'd expect the graphics to be the same in the two games, but the graphics in the hobbit are completely different. Bilbo looks as if he has p...
This game shows what Hobbit Games are bad for. This game stacks up like a card in bad rating. For one, I didn't want to buy it cause I doubted that a Hobbit could kill Smaug(Dragon) or an Orc army with a sword, stick, and rock bag. For one though, the Ring doesn't really do anything I didn't think, even though it's cool to wear. This game got boring and you were very little befuddled or happy. The game is pretty much boring and only a button-smasher. A baby could beat this easy! The Sound is never differant, just a beat every 30 Mintues. The graphics are kinda nice but childish, the Environ...
There wasn't much good about this. In one area there were good riddles. It is pretty challenging, though. The bad:
This game was really odd. The graphics weren't that good, and neither were the voices. It gets really annoying sometimes.Summary:
Wow, I'm the first person to give it a bad review. I almost feel bad. I don't see what other people like about this. You just went through a lot of weird areas. The enemies are too hard. The voices weren't very good. I don't remember the music. I don't think there was much. I never got how Bilbo got poisoned, it seemed, like at random times. It was also annoying when ropes he was climbing just fell. I liked getting into the treasure chests, sometimes, but it just wasn't worth it when you keep dying from making a little mistake.
Good gameplay, follows Tolkien's book closely enough, very fun and has some good puzzlesThe bad:
Very glitchy at times, some very bad glitches can ruin a save fileSummary:
I enjoyed this game very, very much but mostly because I've been a Tolkien fan for many years (long before the Lord of the Rings movies came out). This game is pretty fun, it's a different experience though, not really like Zelda or Mario but kind of like both.
Story: Excellent, it follows Tolkien's book rather closely, omitting some parts and extending others for the sake of gameplay, a lot of people wanted to see more of Gollum but I think the designers did a good job with what they had to work with and made the game fun as well as accurate to the book. I'm glad Vivendi chose to follow th...
alot of action and alot of fun. if you like any zelda games you will like this one. its a little bit easier but still alot of fun. also the game has minor little details that i think are cool. like for instance when you go into a chiken coop you cannot step on any light colored boards or it will startle the chikens. or when you have to get the trolls wallet and you cant step on any leave or else he will wake up. and those are only some of the detailsThe bad:
the bad thing about this game would have to be that it is hard to find all of the silver pennies and courage gems because they are EVERYWHERE that is one of the annoying things in this game.BUT STILL IS A GREAT GAMESummary:
the game is great. i havent quite beat the game but so far i love it. I RECCOMEND THAT YOU BUY THIS GAME, IF YOU LIKE RPG TYPES OF GAMES
