 Game Play
Hitman is a third-person stealth game where players take control of Agent 47 as he works to assassinate his targets. It's been revealed that there are many different ways to assassinate targets allowing players greater freedom in this area so that they can snipe from a distance, use melee weapons or even use explosives. Like the previous games in the series, players can create distractions and use disguises to sneak close to their targets in order to assassinate them; players can even disguise assassinations by creating 'accidents' that kill the target.
Some missions in the game are time-limited and will only appear once; failing to complete these means they will never have another chance at it. Non-playable characters can also impact the game, for example the player can gain more information about the position of their target through listening to the news.
Levels are said to feature a similar structure to Hitman: Blood Money with each level being a small sandbox world for the player to explore, however maps in the game are much larger and can hold up to 300 non-playable characters. The checkpoint system from Hitman: Absolution has been removed and played can save at anytime during the missions.
Contracts Mode returns in Hitman; players can create their own scenarios and assassination targets which can be shared online with other players.
