Harvest Moon DS User Reviews
The Good points are : The cut scenes, the plot of the game, the music of the game is well fitted, It's a long game but well worth it, free roaming meeting NPCs, plenty of festivals, I could go on about good points (I love all of the Harvest Moons). The bad:
The bads points are : It takes forever to get all the sprites to get married and free the harvest goddess. The requirements for some of them can be ridiculous too, resulting in a lot of money spent.Summary:
The use of previous characters is quite clever and the way they mix up the characters from A Wonderful Life (Muffy, Celia, Nami and others) and ones from Friends of Mineral Town on the Gameboy Advance. The plot of the game is really interesting, at the start with the fight between the witch and the harvest goddess.
The look of the main character you play is like the one in Harvest Moon: Friends Of Mineral Town, With the blue outfit and blue cap put on backwards with a little bit of hair sticking out of the front of the cap. Also you can change his name or keep with the one provided.
-Touch Screen controls
-Freedom (not stuck on one point without any chance of further progress)
-A bit too similar to AWL, and games like that
-Sometimes hard to control
The game starts with the Witch Princess and the Harvest Goddess fighting on a beach, they walk off and it cuts to a scene where the Witch Princess is by the sprite tree she says she will make sure the Harvest Goddess never says "Tadaaaaa" again. When the Harvest Goddess arrives with her signature "Tadaaaa" the Witch Princess turn her to stone, she tries to undo the spell as it was not what she intended to do and this results in the Harvest Goddess disappearing completely, the harvest sprites arrive and the Witch Princess sends them to return the Harvest Goddess. Your character than appe...
- An enriching game
- New Touchscreen Controls
- Many aspects of the game seem rushed and unpolished
- Graphics are from the last generation
- The Casino
- The Price of ingame items.
Harvest Moon DS yet being almost 2 years old is still a high selling game in the Harvest Moon franchise. Harvest Moon DS is an entry in the handheld division which regrettably does not live up to other such titles.
The first problem arises within the first few minutes of playing, this being the story. Admittedly most Harvest Moon games I've felt really need a story to hold it together, the whole "your uncle has died and you have a farm" or such was really getting old. This game introduces a story which is a nice change to the genre yet seems very forced upon the game and worse then that, th...
I know what you're thinking. "A Farming Game?" Well it's not just about farming. You have to get married, find sprites and many other things. The basic plot to the game is a goddess, known as the harvest goddess, has been turned into stone by a princess, known as the witch princess. So then the witch princess sends all the sprites to find her. Then she turns the task onto you so you must collect 60 sprites to save the harvest goddess. You get harvest sprites by doing jobs around the farm and outside of the farm. The storyline makes it a great game.
Although you're a farmer in this game ther...
I really enjoyed this game. There are many things to do that have been in the other Harvest Moon games such as getting married, having a kid, making friends, raising crops, raising animals, and more. This game however introduces something new which is the challenge of finding and saving all 101 harvest sprites. This game also provides a challenge that makes this game all the more addicting. Harvest Moon DS, has an enjoyable game that provides hours of fun while still retaining the Harvest Moon charm. The bad:
This game unfortunately has a few spelling errors as well as some glitches. One such glitch is that the game will randomly freeze.Summary:
At the beginning of this game you see a cut scene where the Witch Princess and the Harvest Goddess battle it out. I'm not going to tell what happens and ruin the fun though. Your game then begins. You start out with a farm and it's your job to work your way up. Like the past Harvest Moon games you grow crops and raise animals. In this game you can also mine for jewelery, gems, metal, and more. Once you've gotten yourself stable then you can focus on courting and marrying a girl. There are a few requirements to get married in this game.
This game allows you to marry five girls. (Lumina, Flora...
- Very unique plotline.
- Different features, such as the use of "Giant" crops.
- Sprite teams.
- New Girls.
There's the Goddess, pure good and loving, and the Witch Princess, who is intent on creating chaos and evil. Wait...doesn't that sound like the Wizard of Oz?
The plot is very unique compared to the other games of this series. In order to save the Harvest Goddess ((HG)) from the evil Witch Princess ((WP)), you must uncover and free 60 Harvest Sprites ((HS)).
Memories, or just plain lazy?
I'd say memories! Many, of not all of the same characters in Another Wonderful Life and A Wonderful Life make yet another appearance in this game! With the characters like Nina, Galen, Vesta,...
