This FAQ walkthrough was written to help out players who are having difficulty
with the main mission tree in San Andreas which you need to complete in order
to complete the story. It is a written record of my experiences of the missions
which I have passed. It does not represent a definitive method to complete
every method, but it does inform you of a method which works. It's up to you on
whether you want to use it or not. It has been laid out using mission titles
and the rough order in which you encounter them for easy reference.

   2.00 - Intro

After the cops drop you off, hit Triangle and get on the bicycle in front of
you. Hold down X to ride it across town to the CJ marker on your radar, which
leads you back to your old neighborhood. Rapidly tapping X will cycle faster.
Walk into the red marker outside your house, or put your bicycle in the garage
to the left first, if you'd like to retain it.


If you face your house and turn left, you'll see a house with a basketball
court/fence beside it. Go out through the court and turn left, and follow the
fence/wall to the corner, where you'll find a pistol. You can always obtain a
pistol here if you need a weapon.


Also, if you go out through the archway behind the court, then turn and face
the court and climb up onto the wall behind the basketball net, you can turn
to the left and climb onto the roof of Sweet's house and obtain a Tec9. Again,
this weapon will always be found here for you to collect.


You also have $350 in your bank balance. Keep this, it's important. You'll
need it at a later point if you're following this FAQ.

   Big Smoke

A short video will reunite you with Big Smoke, who mistakes you for an intruder
and tries to burst your pineapple with a baseball bat. He’ll take you across
town to the cemetery to meet your brother.

   Sweet & Kendl

You’ll hook up with more of your old gang, but before you can talk about old
times, a gang car attempts a driveby and you’re all forced to flee on bikes.
Get on the bike in front of you and follow the gang as they attempt to flee
the pursuing gang car. This car will attempt to drive alongside you and shoot
at you. You can either follow your gang back losing a little health along the
way, or do what I did and stop, get off the bike and using the pistol obtained
earlier, shoot both of the gang members in the vehicle. If you manage to do
this without dying, you'll get the automatic weapon they were using, which is
quite powerful to have at this early stage of the game.


A short way into the journey across town, you’ll split up. Follow Ryder, the
one with the blue marker over his head. You’ll learn along the way that
holding down L1 and releasing while on a bike will do a small bunny hop. Ride
into the red marker back at home to end the mission.

You’ll now be free to explore. When you’re done getting lost in the huge new
environment San Andreas has to offer, return to the neighborhood and enter
CJ’s house to continue.

   The Johnson House

You’ll be shown a diskette icon upon entering, for saving your game. Go
upstairs and into your bedroom to change clothes. Since you probably won’t have
been to a clothing store, you’ll not be able to change into new items.


When you’re done, there’s a camera you can pick up in the other room before
going downstairs. Save your game if you need to. On exiting, you’ll be told to
go see Ryder. He only lives down the block so walk or take your bike. You'll
also likely receive a phonecall from Sweet. Press L1 to answer it when you
hear your phone ringing.


Walk into the red marker outside Ryder's house to enter and cue a video
sequence.

   2.01 - Ryder

Get in Ryder’s car outside and drive to the barber’s, otherwise known as
Reece’s. Park in the red marker and enter. Sit in the chair as prompted by
walking into the red marker next to the chair, and use the onscreen
instructions to select a suitable haircut/facial appearance. Get a High Fade
for $150 since it's one of the cheapest and looks decent. Exit when you’re done
and rejoin Ryder. Cross the street and enter the Pizza restaurant. Purchase
some food, being careful not to target the cashiers with your weapons. To buy
food, walk into the red marker in front of the counter. Buy 5 "Full Rack" meals
to gain a healthy amount of fat, so you can afford to run around and not lose
muscle later. After your order a meal, Ryder tries to commit armed robbery, but
he’s recognised and you both are forced to flee from the shotgun wielding
cashier outside. Shoot him and take his shotgun, then get in the truck with
Ryder and take him back to the hood. Drive into the red marker to end the
mission.

Grab a pistol from behind Sweet's house (the one with the basketball court) if
you need to, or the Tec9 from Sweet's roof, and then step into the red marker
outside to visit Sweet.

   2.02 - Sweet / Tagging Up Turf

You’ll be sent to spray the gang logo around the hood. Your brother Sweet will
accompany you. Get in his car and drive a short way across town to Idlewood.
Park in the red marker to see a video where you learn about spraying your gang
logo. Use the green icons here to find the second and third gang logos and
then hold down R1 to target them and then Circle to spray over them. Facing
the houses across the the road, you should be looking at the second tag. Run
across and you'll see it to the right of the man sitting on the steps outside
the house. Spray it using the method mentioned previously, and then go down
through the narrow gap between the house and the fence. Run up to the brick
wall at the back and press Square to jump up and climb over it. Turn right and
follow the wall up to near the end of the street to find the third tag. Spray
it and then exit the alley to the left and follow the street back round to 
return to Sweet's car. Get back in and drive to the yellow marker on your
radar, which denotes Ballas territory.


When you drive into the red marker at this location, Sweet will leave. Cross
the street to the red walled building and spray the tag here on the corner.
Turn and follow the red wall back up the street, past the painted mural on the
wall and turn right into the alley. You'll see two gang members standing
against the wall near the tag. Ignore the tag for a sec, and kill the two gang
members, since if you spray it now, they will try and kill you. Take their
weapons and ignore the probable Wanted Level you get for their murders and
spray the tag.


Turn right round and run over and climb the chain fence. Run through the drive
thru parking lot and you'll see a red marker across the street outside a
yellow building. Walk into it and you'll be instructed to climb the small
fence in front of you. Do so and then go down the alley and climb the larger
fence at the end. Turn to your left and you'll see a yellow box allowing you
to climb on top and then turning to your left, you can climb up onto the roof.
You'll see a small building on this level if you turn to your right. Go around
the front of it (the side facing the road) and you'll find the last tag. Spray
it and then Sweet will return to collect you. Go around the roof and along to
the end of it so you're over Sweet's car. A small jump and you'll land on it
and lose no health. Climb in and drive down to the end of the street and turn
right. Head over this bridge and back to the hood. Drive into the red marker
to pass the mission. Sweet will give you a small bit of money.

You'll now be able to collect a spray can from the same room in your house as
you saw/collected the camera earlier. You can now also play basketball in the
court next to Sweet's house by pressing Triangle on the orange basketball.
Officer Hernandez will call you after the mission to tell you not to leave
Los Santos.


Save your game if you need to, and top up your supply of Pistol and Tec9 ammo
in the usual spots, then return and see Sweet.

   2.03 - Cleaning the Hood

Take the Greenwood outside Sweet’s house and go visit B Dup with Ryder. After
an unwelcoming greeting from B Dup and a refusal from Big Bear to come with
you, you return to the street. Check your radar and you'll see the location of
a crack dealer who has been selling to Grove Street gang members. Drive around
to his street and get out of your car. Either beat him up or shoot him. Take
the baseball bat here if you don’t already have a melee weapon. You don't have
to take it to complete the mission.


Facing the road, you can see the dealer's apartment block by turning to your
right, where you'll see the red marker in the distance. Drive over to it with
Ryder, or run to it, whatever you prefer. Enter it through the front door and
you'll have to then beat to death or shoot the three armed Ballas inside.


You can optionally kill everyone in the entire apartment, but it will not
affect the mission outcome. There are also no items to be found in the rest of
the apartment. Bring Ryder back to Sweet's house to end the mission.

From this point on, it will be assumed that you will collect Pistol and Tec9
ammo and save your game when you need to. Return to see Sweet for more work.

   2.04 - Drive-Thru

Take the gang to the Cluckin’ Bell Drive Thru, a few streets from the hood,
marked by the yellow marker on your radar to the south. You’ll spot a Ballas
car on its way to the hood for payback as a result of Cleaning the Hood / 
Tagging Up Turf. Just trail it, marked by the purple marker over the top of it,
and allow your gang to shoot it until it bursts into flames. Kill the remaining
survivors either by getting out or knocking them down. Take their automatic
weapons by pressing L1 when standing over them, since they are a different type
to the Uzi you're probably carrying, and then return to the hood. Drop the gang
off and then take Big Smoke to his house, to complete the mission.

Sweet will show you where the gyms are at this point if you answer his phone
call, by pressing L1 when you get the message and a phone ringing sound. At
this point, you can now attempt to complete Section 4.00 of this FAQ, titled
"Made Man", or continue to 2.05 by visiting Sweet for more work. It's a good
idea to complete Made Man now before it gets more violent and harder to do it
later on, and it is written for players completing it at an early stage.

   2.05 - Nines and AK’s

Take Smoke to Emmet’s house. Follow the instructions to learn some combat
techniques using pistols. Afterwards, take Smoke home. You can now visit
Emmet’s any time to get a gun. You will now have to call at the clothing
store before you can return to the hood for more work. Enter the changing
room inside by visiting the red marker. Buy any item and exit the store
to complete the mission.

Visit Sweet back at the Grove for more work.

   2.06 - Drive-By

After an argument about CJ’s driving, the gang head out. Join them as driver.
Take them to the Ballas territory waypoint. All you have to do here is
repeatedly drive past the 4-6 groups of Ballas to allow the gang to driveby
them. You can assist either by shooting as well or by mounting the sidewalk
and knocking them down.

After the Ballas in the park are killed, you will be at Wanted Level 2. Follow
the new radar marker to the respray shop. Once you’re resprayed, take the gang
back to the hood.

See Sweet at his house again.

   2.07 - Sweet’s Girl

Sweet calls you and tells you that he and his girl are pinned down by gang
members, and he’s finished unless you can save him. Grab a car and get to his
location. You should bring plenty of guns and be ready to kill. When you get
there, you’ll see his location surrounded by guys, marked with red arrows.
Whack them all. Make use of the wall opposite to Sweet’s location for cover.
When they’re dead, grab a 4 door car and drive into the red marker. You’ll
now be pursued by a gang member in a car. Let Sweet get off some rounds at him
and he’ll eventually get flat tyres and crash. Bring Sweet back to the hood.

Once again, go to Sweet for more work.

   2.08 - Cesar Vialpando

Grab a vehicle and head to the garage in Willowfield, marked on your radar.
You’ll get a Lowrider from the mechanic, and you’ll be prompted to enter the
mod garage. Reverse in and mess with the car if you choose. Afterwards, drive
to the lowrider meeting on your radar.

Use the right analog stick to keep in time with the music by pushing in the
direction indicated when the arrow passes under the circle. This is relatively
easy, so bet all your money to earn a decent packet on the outside of the
mission. If you bet the maximum, you’ll walk away with $2000 and completion
will also add the opportunity to enter lowrider races by visiting the waypoint
on the radar.

If you haven’t eaten for a while, take the opportunity to do so on the way
home. This marks the end of working for your brother Sweet. Ryder now wants
to see you at the end of the block.

   2.09 - Home Invasion

You have 8:00 to get to the house and steal the guns. Get in the truck outside
with Ryder and drive as fast as you can to the location. Once you get there,
you have to go in alone. To steal the crates of guns, crouch by pressing L3
and find a crate (green arrow). Press Triangle to lift it and then quietly walk
to the door and outside, press Triangle to throw it into the truck. You need
to get at least 3 to pass the mission. There’s at least 5. Getting extra does
not change the outcome, since there is no wage to be earned for helping Ryder.
Once you have 3 or more, get in, and the timer will stop. Drive to the lockup
to complete the mission.

Head back to Ryder's house.

   2.10 - Catalyst

This is quite a fun mission. Officer Tenpenny will tell you about a train
coming into the station with some goods you may be interested in. Take Ryder
and his truck to the station. Kill all the gang members here trying to rob it,
and then kill the Ballas who turn up afterwards in the car to the east. Head
to the marker at the rear of the train when you're done. The train will leave
the station at this point with you on the back. Use L1 to throw the crates to
Ryder. The best way to successfully get them into his hand is to aim slightly
above his head. Once you get back in the car, drive to the nearby Pay and
Spray asap, as you’ll be at Wanted Level 3. Take the crates back to the hood.

Ryder has more work for you.

   2.11 - Robbing Uncle Sam

Take Ryder’s removal van to the docks. Once you arrive, hop over the wall and
kill the 2-3 guards in the immediate vicinity. Shoot the control panel next to
the gate to let Ryder in. Repeat for the warehouse door. Inside, kill the two
soldiers, then use the forklift to load 6 crates into the van. Pushing the
analog stick controls the forks. Lift a crate up, then carefully drive it into
the back of the van. When Ryder is being attacked, stop what you're doing and
help him, as he needs to be kept alive as well for mission success.


Once you’re loaded up, flee to the lockup. You can press L3 to have Ryder toss
crates at the army in pursuit to try and blow them up. The lockup is where
you learnt how to use pistols in "Nines and AKs".


Award: Completion of Ryder Jobs

If you followed 4.00 "Made Man", buy the cheap house right outside this alley
and save your game, otherwise return to Grove Street.


Next up are the Big Smoke missions.

   2.12 - OG Loc

Hop in the car at Big Smoke’s house and drive to the police precinct to pick up
OG Loc. Take the gang to Freddy’s house. Accompany OG to the top of the stairs
and ring the doorbell. Freddy will bolt on a PCJ-600. Take the other one and
give pursuit. After a very difficult race across town, you'll reach the railway
track near Grove Street. Freddy gets off his bike just after this bit so be
ready to get off and kill him.


Take OG to his job, quite a distance away on the other side of town. He will
now offer missions.

Save your game at this point before returning to Big Smoke.

   2.13 - Running Dog

Get in Big Smoke’s car and drive him to the meeting point, calling with Emmet
if you need a gun. After a video sequence that results in a dealer fleeing for
his life, you are tasked with hunting him down. This mission’s a walkover if
you’ve maxed out your stamina bar since you can easily sprint after him. Gun
him down when you reach him. He drops plenty of cash when he dies so make
sure to grab it too if you're short.

Head back to Big Smoke's for more work.

   2.14 - Wrong Side of the Tracks

Take Big Smoke to the nearby train station. This mission’s quite simple. Hop on
the waiting Sanchez with Big Smoke and keep up alongside the front train
carriage, just off to the right of it, so Big Smoke can shoot the 4 gang
members. If you keep to the right of the parallel track, you can avoid any
obstacles the game will throw at you, including an oncoming train and a
roadblock. You should have killed all 4 by the time you’ve passed the sweeping
mountain road. Return Big Smoke to his house.

Big Smoke has one final job for you.

   2.15 - Just Business

Take Smoke to the mall downtown. Inside, kill all the gang members around the
fountain and up on the balconies around it. There's some body armor to be had
against the back wall behind the low white wall. Grab the mountains of cash,
pistol and MP5 ammo and then rejoin Big Smoke. Outside, kill the 5-6 around
the exit and then Smoke will take you out of there on the back of a PCJ-600.
Use the left or right analog stick to control the crosshair and shoot all of
the pursuing gang members. This section is quite difficult. Shoot the
pursuing members as quickly as possible. The longer they remain alive, the
more health you lose. The best tactic is to kill the driver, which will in
turn cause the vehicle to crash. Shoot out the wheels of the large truck, but
otherwise ignore it, it will have little effect on you.


At the first roadblock, blow up the vehicles to kill all of the men
surrounding them. You'll head into the flood drains where you'll be rejoined
by several motorbikes, cars and the large truck again. Keep the motorbikes
off your tail since they are devastating to your health. After a spectacular
jump over the main roadblock in the flood drains, you'll enter the sewer
tunnels. The mission ends just after the sewer tunnel section.

Go to OG Loc from this point onwards. His first job will only be available
between 22:00 and 6:00.

   2.16 - Life’s A Beach

Attend the beach party. This mission’s a bit like Cesar Vialpando. Hit the
buttons in sequence as they pass under the circle in order to dance. The key
here is to watch the button patterns, not CJ. Gain over 4000 points to pass
the challenge, then steal the sound van and take it back to the lockup. As you
drive off, you’ll be shot at and pursued by cars if you hang around, so just
be aware of that. The doors are swinging open, but you can close them by
handbraking round corners. The lockup isn’t far away from the beach.

Head back to OG Loc's work to receive another job.

   2.17 - Madd Dogg’s Rhymes

Go to Madd Dogg’s mansion, which is located up in the back hills. It can be 
quite difficult to reach due to the way the road network is laid out, so plan 
your route by pressing Start and studying the map. I found a BMX the best
vehicle to easily reach the mansion, by cycling up one of the large hills to
reach the road the mansion is on. Enter through the door around the back.
You can reach it by going down the driveway a bit, then climbing over the
wall to the left and making your way around the front and up the ramp onto
the roof. Go across the roof towards the marker and then jump off to the
right onto the rooftop. From here, you can then jump over the other balcony
to reach the back door and enter.


This mission is based on Manhunt, whereby you must infiltrate the recording
studio using stealth. Crouch and move amongst the shadows. You can kill by
moving up behind a guard and pressing circle to stab him in the neck. Most of
this mission will be directed by instruction. In cases where it is not,
continue to move toward the green dot on the radar, which is the songbook.


The first guard will have his back to you. Kill him and move into the next
area, which is a large pool. Follow the guard around and move into the room
with two doorways. Duck into the dark room before the approaching guard spots
you, then kill him using stealth. Return to the pool room and kill the pool
guard, then backtrack to the room with two doors and take the one the guard
came out of.


Follow the corridor around to the bar area. Crouch down and creep past the
bartender, then sneak in and kill him. Ignore the guard playing the console
in the TV room and continue onwards. There’s some body armor in the dark room
on the left. Collect it and continue out through the other door in this room.
You’ll emerge right behind a guard who is facing the recording studio door.
Use stealth to kill him and then collect the book just inside the door.


This will now allow you to use weapons, but it will also cue the entry of
many guards into the mansion. Quickly run back into the dark room across the
hall and wait for the patrolling guard. Stealth kill him as he passes your
door and take his silenced pistol by pressing L1. Around at the TV room,
there is now a guard at the doorway. Shoot him carefully in the head and if
successful, you wont have to run anywhere. If you see the red marker in the
next room moving quickly to you, run and hide in the shadows for a bit,
otherwise, enter and kill the guard sitting on the couch using the knife
and take his ammo.


The bar area has another bartender. Sneak along the bar to the door, and
then stand up and shoot the bartender in the back of the head with manual
aim. Run around into the bar and collect his ammo, then head back towards
the corridor leading to the pool. There’s a guard patrolling here who’s
difficult to get rid of using stealth due to the lack of shadows, so just
shoot him face to face. 3 rounds should do it, grab his ammo when he goes
down.


Switch back to the knife for the last guy at the pool, and knife him as he
walks past your door, then exit the mansion. There’s a handy mountain bike
right outside the door when you exit – make use of it and bring the book
to OG Loc back at the Burger Shot restaurant.

Officer Tenpenny will call after this mission, wanting to see you. Answer
the call with L1. Go see OG Loc again, between 12:00 and 5:00.

Scipio, Madd Dogg’s manager, is spreading lies about OG to ruin his popularity.
His driver is eating at a Burger Shot on the other side of town. Go there and
steal his car. You’ll probably receive a call from OG enroute, saying that the
driver may be driving around town when you get there. It will indicate that you
must damage the vehicle to force the driver out, but on my attempt, it was
possible just to pull the driver out like any other car. I was however told to
repair it, probably due to him shooting at me as I drove off.


You may find it extremely useful to visit Transfender, which is the car
modification garage to the right of the repair garage in this area. Park
outside it facing the door and it will open to let you in. Fit nitros to the
car to give you a speed advantage near the end of the mission.


Whether or not you need to repair, you’ll be told to meet the other drivers
before 10:00pm. Drive to the meeting point on your radar without damaging the
car. Park the same way as the other cars and a video will play. Remain in the
middle of the 3 car motorcade and park outside the ceremony when prompted.


Scipio will get in along with his girlfriend. Break the motorcade formation
and take them to the pier on your radar and drive the car off the end,
pressing Triangle to bail out at the last moment. If you’re seen by the
drivers of the pursuing cars, kill the witnesses when prompted.

Return to see OG Loc, to find he’s been fired from Burger Shot, but wants to
organise a party. Get a new haircut and some new clothes, then get to OG’s
house. There’s a barber shop right beside the Burger Shot OG used to work at,
so get your haircut there. If you check your map, you’ll see a sports
clothing store (white shirt) to the northwest of Burger Shot. Pick up some
new clothes there.


OG lives back on Grove Street (the hood), so head over there. At 8pm you’ll
get a call. Answer it and OG will tell you to come over. Save your game
before doing so, as the mission is quite difficult.

   2.19 - House Party

Ballas are invading Grove Street to try and take it. Grab the automatic weapon
and help your gang defend. You can quickly switch targets using L2 and R2.
Once you’ve killed the group who came in cars, some try to take you out from
the bridge above Grove Street. Kill them, and then a large force will attack
from both sides of the hood. It’s a good idea throughout this conflict to grab
weapons and money, since they are available here from dead members in
abundance.

   2.20 - Burning Desire

Go collect Tenpenny’s stock of Molotov cocktails, marked on the radar as a
green icon. They’re a fair distance away, God only knows why he couldn’t have
just handed them to you in the donut store, with him being crooked. Collect
the cocktails, then go to the yellow gang house. To torch it, break the windows
either with weapons or a cocktail. You must throw a cocktail through 5 of the
downstairs windows to burn the house down. Holding Circle down determines how
hard/far you throw the cocktail. You shouldn’t hold it for long to throw them
through the windows if you’re any way close. You'll also need to kill the
6-10 guards around the proximity of the building.


A girl becomes trapped upstairs, so you will have to enter the house to save
her. Make your way to the back of the house, collecting the extinguisher in
the kitchen on your way up. The stairs are in the top left corner. Make your
way to the girl (blue icon) upstairs. Use the extinguisher by holding R1 and
moving the analog stick left or right to aim. Hold down circle to extinguish.
Once you rescue her, the building starts to collapse. Lead her out,
extinguishing fires which block your route. You agree to accompany her home
afterwards, after learning that she knows you and lives just behind Grove
Street.


Denise will now become your first girlfriend. You can take her on a date by
visiting her house. You will probably also receive a call from Sweet at the
end of this mission, if you’ve been following this FAQ, instructing you that
you need to get a gun. Head for the S on the map, near Tenpenny’s location.

   2.21 - Doberman

This will introduce you to Ammu-Nation, the GTA gunstore chain, as well as the
concept of capturing territories. Arm up in the store, then go to Glen Park.
Find a group of Ballas, and wipe them out, to initiate a gang war. Purple
markers will indicate approaching Ballas. Wipe them all out. They will come in
waves. There are three waves. Survive all three to win the park.


Learn the concept of controlling territory with the messages that follow, then
kill the informant when he tries to flee, to pass the mission. At this point,
you shouldn't worry about the Territory Wars. Just go see Officer Tenpenny.

Head down to the docks on Tenpenny’s instruction to see what the fuss is about.
Fight your way into the yard and over to the control panel in the video. Shoot
it like you did in Robbing Uncle Sam, and make your way in. There's some body
armor on the black colored platform to the right of the entrance if you need
it. Just jump up to climb onto the ledge and collect it. Head inside, killing
the two guards who come running out as the shutter opens. There’s another
couple of guards around the corner, and as the route breaks off left, go right
and you’ll find a heart. Continue round to the left, killing as you go. You
can make use of the strafe technique here (R1 + left analog stick while
standing) to step out and shoot barrels to instantly kill guards.


When you get to the bit where the room opens up, use manual aim to take out
the two guards ahead on the walkways, then manual aim again and hit the
barrel on the left to knock out the guard close to you. The two on the right
can be killed by using manual aim to shoot out the chains holding the huge
crate suspended over their heads. Head up into the room where you caused the
devastation. Hiding behind the wall here, you’ll be able to headshot the
guards on the other side, and then collect their weapons and cash and
continue upstairs.


There’s two more guards in the office dead ahead of you. Kill them and then
go to the left of the door and look in to the right without going in. You’ll
see the Russian arms dealer. What I did here was to use manual aim and put a
clip of AK rounds in his head from the door, then when I went in, he was
already at red health, so a few rounds finished him before he could run
anywhere, to pass the mission. Take the back door of the office for a quick
exit down into the yard, where there’s a forklift if you need it, to get
back to the main road.

Go see Sweet back at the hood, between 9:00 and 17:00.

   2.23 - Los Sepulcros

Recruit a small gang of 2 men from the hood, using R1 to target them, then push
Up on the directional pad to ask them to join you. Get in the car and within
4:00, get to the destination on the radar, before Kane arrives there first.
It’s a fair drive so don’t drive slowly, but you should make it quite
comfortably. Jump the wall when you arrive and rejoin Sweet.


This mission’s quite easy if you’re wearing body armor. Run along the left
wall, don’t worry about your gang, they’re useless anyway. Kill the 3-4 gang
members here and then pursue the leader, marked by a red arrow. Don’t let him
out of the cemetery. Once he’s dead, sweep for remaining gang members and then
rejoin Sweet and head home.


I was Wanted Level 2 after this, so check your map and head for the respray
just up from the cemetery, next to a branch of Transfender.

If you don't have Sweet still as an employer, the only employer left for you
is a race run by Cesar Vialpando. Get a lowrider (looks like a Cadillac) and
modify it using the mechanic’s place from the Cesar Vialpando mission, then
go to CV’s place. He’s located just northeast of the Los Santos International
Airport. For my entry, I modified a Remington.

   2.24 - High Stakes, Low-Rider

Not many ways to write a solution to a race. Just make sure you have a lowrider
you can control with some NOS (nitrous oxide) for emergency use only. Get to
know the route by trying the race a couple of times and then on your proper
attempt, race carefully around it, letting the other gang members crash into
each other and other vehicles and obstacles. In the event that you find taking
over one difficult, shoot out his tyres using L2/R2 and Circle.


The last stage of the race is a giant race down the pier, so once you turn
onto it, move into the right hand lane and pop the nos to take 1st place and
$1000.

   2.25 - Reuniting the Families

Take your gang down to the meeting at the hotel. The SA SWAT will raid the
site, so immediately dash inside the doorway to your left. Go upstairs and be
ready to kill the SWAT member who rolls out of the doorway. Enter the corridor
and kill the 3 who burst out of the wall midway down. Enter the first room on
the left and for God knows what reason, get a kiss off a scantily clad
sympathiser. At the end of the corridor, kill the two SWAT who abseil in
behind the Grove Street gang, then help them kill the 3 SWAT to the right.
Grab the body armor hidden upstairs, then go back down and make your way down
around this corridor, killing SWAT as you go. Move slowly and strategically,
using all the techniques you’ve learnt so far.


You’ll find Sweet once you get around to the blue marker. Reunite and go to
the rooftop with him, where you’ll have to kill 4-5 SWAT onboard a helicopter
above the hotel. Once you accomplish this, use manual aim to shoot the chopper
til it either reports that it is in difficulty or blows up (or both), then
rejoin Sweet and follow him across the rooftop. He’ll lead you down to the
street where you’ll be collected by Smoke and Ryder again.


In techniques used in previous missions, you’ll have to man the guns as the
gang attempt to flee. Shoot everything that moves and watch out for
motorcycle cops who leap onto the car. The mission ends shortly after you
first meet them.

Run back to the hood or take a vehicle. Grab whatever income your
territories have brought in, then go inside, change your clothes if you need
to, and then save your game before going to Sweet’s house.

   2.26 - The Green Sabre

Cesar will call right after you step out of Sweet’s house. Go to where he wants
to meet you, under the freeway. There’s a Bravura parked in the dark alleyway
around to the right. Watch the shocking video, and then race across town to
save Sweet from the ambush. When you get there, ram as many as you can and bail
out of your car before it explodes. Kill the remaining gang members and go to a
dying Sweet’s aid. Kill more Ballas until the cops show. The best technique
here is to let them get into position, then move around behind them and wipe
them out while they fight your friends. Backup will arrive in the form of a
van loaded with Ballas, and a car full of Ballas which circles the battle.


You’ll be arrested and taken out of town by Tenpenny when the battle is over. 
This ends your time in Los Santos.

You’ll be dumped in a forested area on the outskirts of Angel Pine. Walk into
town or steal a car. Visit Ammu-Nation since all your guns are now gone. Buy
whatever you can afford. Go to the Crash icon in the trailer park to begin the
mission, using the Save icon next to it BEFORE you hit the red marker.

   2.27 - Badlands

Check your map to see the location of the mountain trail. Use the Sanchez right
next to you to get there. Continue up the mountain trail to the log cabin,
checking your map regularly to ensure you use the correct route.


When you reach the cabin, kill 2-3 feds, to cause the informant to flee. Grab
the Sanchez outside the cabin to pursue him, and shoot his car until it
catches fire. Retire to a safe distance and once it blows up, chase down the
informant and kill him. Photograph his corpse and brin the camera to the new
marker on your radar.


You’ll receive two phonecalls after this mission. Answer both and head to the
? marker, which is miles away in the town of Dillamore.

   2.28 - First Date

You'll be introduced to Catalina and then forced to take her to one of the $
icons which show up on your radar. Take her to the filling station in 
Dillamore, which is just a few blocks down the street.

   2.29 - Tanker Commander

Get in the truck and attach the tanker. You’ll be pursued by the two guys from
the station. The tactic I used here was to immediately jump out of the cab,
and then run round the back of the filling station and climb onto the roof
using the low wall at the back to jump and grab it and pull myself up. This is
an excellent vantage point to use to safely blow the car up when it's away
from the tanker. Return to the tanker and bring it out of town to the depot.
You’ll receive a mysterious phonecall after this.

Head to Angel Pine to meet the mysterious caller, otherwise known as The Truth.
There are various random motorcycles in the gas station next door, to the
south, should you need transportation.

   2.30 - Body Harvest

Grab a vehicle outside Truth’s motel and stock up at the Ammu-Nation in town,
then go to the farm across the river. You’ll be briefed on the people working
on the farm, who will kill you if you trespass. Move towards the farm buildings
and be ready to manually shoot the tractor drivers who approach you, in the 
head. Take their weaponry (shotgun and 2-3 shovels) and continue towards the
blue marker.


Just past the main farmhouse, you’ll encounter more farm workers on foot.
Either knock them down or shoot them. In the main field, kill several workers
armed with shovels and shotguns, then take the combine harvester.


Run over all the farm workers who show up in force to stop you. When you reach 
the main road, you’ll be chased by a pickup truck with a worker in the back
armed with a rifle. Stop and get out and use manual aim to take out the worker,
then take the combine harvester to the farm marked on the radar. Don’t drive
off the cliff, the harvester will be destroyed.


You’ll receive a call from Cesar who’s on his way to Angel Pine to hook up
with you and get Kendl to safety. If you collected a rifle at the farm, you
can now buy it at Ammu-Nation. You can also purchase Remote Explosives in the
Thrown section. Arm up with whatever armor/ammo you lost during Body Harvest
and then visit Cesar at your trailer.

Catalina wants to do another of her robberies. I took her to the furtherest
away one this time, over in Palomino Creek, just to have the opportunity to
visit the town as a side benefit.

Use aim/lock on to keep the customers and guards from lowering their hands
while Catalina raids the safe. For the purposes of this FAQ, I failed to do
this and had to kill them, causing a Wanted Level 3 and a visit from the
police. Smash up the 3 ATMs and then follow Catalina into the alley. Kill all
the police here. At the end of the alley, kill the two motorcycle cops who
arrive, and take the spare police motorcycle. Follow Catalina as she makes her
getaway. I crashed at the broken bridge just outside of town, but managed to
snag another motorcycle. You learn that Catalina’s been surrounded by cops and
you need to rescue her. It’s easy, I just rode through the arrest and she ran
to me and got on, then I took her back to her forest lodge. You bag $10000
from this one. Save at her lodge and then tackle another of her missions.
You’ll also likely receive a call from Cesar, informing you that another of his
street races is taking place. You can get any fast car for this one. We’ll
tackle it later.

Dillamore is SW of Montgomery, if you check your map. Make your way there and
get the car sprayed. Leave Catalina home to the lodge.

Pursue the escaping robbers on the abandoned quad. Each time you kill one, take
the briefcase. Repeat this until you reclaim all of the stolen money. Take
Catalina home and bag $1000. This ends Catalina’s employment. I chose at this
point to save my game at her lodge and take the Buffalo back down the hill to
Cesar’s race, since it’s more than adequate for the race.

   2.38 - Wu Zi Mu

Use the same technique as you did in Cesar’s first race. Stick close to the
others and drive carefully. On left hand bends, ram into your opponent’s back
left wing to spin him out. You can also push them against the cliff walls to
tip them over, and shoot out the wheels using the shoulder buttons. The course
is quite difficult, but it can easily be done by taking your time and reading
the road. The biggest obstacle is getting rid of your opponents, so use
whatever dirty tactics you can – the word of the day is improvisation here.
If you see an opportunity to get rid of one of them, don’t pass it up.


Get out of your car once the race ends and access the marker.

   2.39 - Farewell, My Love…

Catalina and her friends challenge you to a race. You’re in possession,
presumably, of one of the cars from the previous race. Same tactics again as
all the others. Use the long sweeping bends on the way down out of the mountain
to spin out your opponents. You’ll essentially be racing the same course as
before, except in reverse with some new areas. It’s easy to take over your
opponents on the last stretch, since they drive cautiously and can be pushed
off the road easily. Catalina now leaves for Liberty City, with an old friend
in tow…


After this race, you’ll receive a call from the Truth. Meet him at his hideout
at Leafy Hollow (check your map).

   2.40 - Are You Going To San Fierro?

Assist Truth to destroy his weed crops, using the flamethrower he gave you. You
have 3 minutes to torch the lot before the cops get there. Use all the time
given, there’s a ton of weed to burn. Once you’ve burnt it, take down the
chopper with the rocket launcher and drive the hippy van to San Fierro’s
lockup.


Access the CJ mission when you get there.

Take Truth to lift his friends. The first is Jethro at a filling station on
the other side of town. Next, take Truth to the hospital. He watches a van
leave and doesn’t explain it. Next, visit Wade’s hot dog van, just back up
town. After that, swing by the police station for another van encounter. Then
over to the other side of town for another of Truth’s friends, then back to
the garage where you started out.

Zero will call you just after completion, followed by Cesar. If you reply
positively to his call, he will tell you he has the location of Smoke’s
courier. Try to intercept the red marker enroute to Los Santos. I failed to
due to stopping at Ammu-Nation for guns, and returned empty handed to San

Head up to the construction site. Sneak over to a bulldozer, then hop in and
drive around the site. Crush all 5 portacabins by smashing into them, being
careful to avoid red explosive barrels outside some of them. Once you’ve done
that, push the portable toilet into the cement pit, then get into a cement
mixer and reverse it into the red marker to pass the mission. There’s builders
trying to attack you throughout this but the most they have is a pistol, so
you can easily ignore or run over them.

Head south and around Easter Bay Airport to meet Cesar, just outside of town.
Switch to his car and continue south towards Angel Pine. Park next to the
Lovin a Loan sign and climb the stairs. At the corner of the roof is a vantage
point to oversee the people arriving for the meeting. Photograph the faces of
the four people arriving. Two park in the alley dead ahead, then two more in
the road over to the right. If you fail to get one of their faces, it’s
mission failed.

After the mission, you can grab a Sanchez from a driveway just down from where
you regain control over CJ. Use it to ride back to San Fierro.

Grab a car and head for Jizzy’s club. It’s the aqua blue skull icon in the top
left of San Fierra. Take Jizzy’s car downtown as asked, and drop his girl off.
You’ll then have two minutes to do an assassination in the southwest of town.
Get over there and kill the pimp, being careful not to kill the girl with him
or it’s mission failed. The pimp will attempt to run down a back alley, so
jump out and give chase.

At this point, Jizzy’s girl will come under attack. You must save her before
her health runs out. She’s down in the southeast on the outskirts of town,
under the freeway. Kill both of her clients using careful gunfire or
alternatively beat them to death. After this, get back to the hotel where you
dropped off Jizzy’s first girl.

A preacher will collect her, and take her in his limousine, along with a
bodyguard in the jeep behind. Use the shoulder buttons to riddle the jeep
with machine gun fire as you draw alongside it, then pull away to safety as
it blows. Repeat for the limousine, to bag $3000. You’ll be at Wanted Level
2 after this, so get to a respray.

Grab a car outside the club and go to the ambushed van location. This mission’s
easy. Basically, 4 bikes take off with the loot. You gotta chase them on your
own bike and when you get close to them, tap L1 to snatch the white package off
the back. Repeat this for all 4. The last bike will try and reach their
objective while the others wander aimlessly, so the only difficult part of this
mission is really the last bike, but only if you’re crap on a bike. You’ll bag
$5000 when you return the packages to the club.

Mike Toreno

Drive to the main road and turn right and follow it round. You’ll get the first
possible location of Mike, which is a building site on the other side of town.
Drive there. You’ll next have to drive down to the docks, be careful not to
wreck the car down the embankments. Finally, race to the airport. You’ll have
to then use a tracker signal to find him. Drive out to the right and up onto
the runway area. The van is away out to the far left under a tunnel. Chase
them out onto the runway and eventually they’ll stop. Kill them all.

Once that’s sorted, blow up the van by whatever means possible, then take the
limousine and get Toreno and Jizzy out of there. You’ll hit Wanted Level 3 on
your way out, so get them to a Pay N Spray as fast as you can. Leave them back
to the club and bag $7000.

This ends Jizzy’s employment. You should now go purchase Zero’s apartment if
you have enough cash. Play the horse races back in Los Santos if you’re
strapped.

Use the minigun on the roof to blow up the tiny aircraft in the skies trying

enough time. You’ll bag $3000.

This mission’s a walkover. L2/R2 turns the model helicopter. Circle uses the
magnet. Pick up bombs from the base and use them to bomb the tanks
(red markers). Just hit circle when you’re over a tank and the bomb will be
released. Next, fetch a plank from the base and put it across the gaps in the
road where there’s river to make a bridge. You need to do this for the two
gaps. Finally, stay with the remote control car and lift barrels out of the
road as it makes its way to the north base. If the remote car makes it before
time runs out, you get $7000 and control of Zero’s shop which generates a
maximum revenue of $5000 regularly.

At this point I returned to the garage and continued the missions there.

Meet T Bone at the gas station on the outside of town. Toreno will turn up
shortly after. Take the men to the new shipment. Once you get there, Toreno
will request that you collect the Sanchez and escort them. Grab the rocket
launcher and sniper rifle here as well. You’ll have to race ahead and blow
up the roadblock before the van can reach it. Check your map and get moving.

The 2nd roadblock has men up in the windows above the road. Look up to lock
onto them, make sure you get them all before the van gets there, then race
onto the next location just around the corner. Beyond that just down the road
is one more. Try to get all 4 blown up and all men dead before the van is
anywhere near, since they blow it up quite easily.

You’ll bag $9000 when the van arrives at its destination, but you’ll also
receive Wanted Level 3. Get to a respray!

pier, then kill him and the informant.

Upon arriving at Jizzy’s club, you’ll find you can’t get in. Climb the

bolt. Kill his guards and chase him out onto the street. Pursue his car and
run it off the road or shoot it til it blows, then kill Jizzy. You’ll bag
$12000.

bag $5000. The AK47 can now be purchased from Ammu-Nation as well as the sniper
rifle.

Make your way to the airport and collect the car in the underground carpark.
The carpark will be raided by Vietnamese gang members just after you get in.
Move the car to safety and then kill your attacker. It’s a good idea to run up
the route you came in and kill all the Vietnamese in the tunnel, rather than
let them shoot the car to shit. Return to the car when you’ve cleared as far
as the main road outside the airport, and bring it out. Make sure the two
motorbikes have been taken care of before doing so.

The drive to the waypoint will be quite leisurely following this method.
You’ll be attacked by several trucks near the end but they can easily be
swerved round and all you have to do is park outside the garage door in the
marker area to bag $6000.

You’ll be luring the Vietnamese spies out to the country as a decoy. Get in the
jeep outside and drive to the marker outside the city. You’ll now have to
complete a perilous driving course in the jeep while pursued by Vietnamese gang
members on Sanchez bikes. The easiest way to do this is to go slowly and shoot
the gangs dead when they draw alongside you. Don’t let them hover next to you
or they can identify you as a decoy and then it’s mission failed. You’ll bag
$8000 should you reach the filling station.

Amphibious Assault

You will most likely be instructed to get more practice at swimming underwater.
Head for the nearest coast and dive in. Circle dives under, and X swims around.
It will take around 60-90 minutes to max out your bar. Go to Wu’s place to get
the mission, between 20:00 and 6:00.

Make your way to the Esplanade North docks. You’ll jump in and must follow the
course of red markers. Lift the knife enroute. Once you get through the
tunnels you’ll emerge in the bay. Go to the small island and get out. Shoot
the guards onboard the two boats and then swim to the main ship. Swim
underneath it and emerge at the other side and climb out on the platform and
go up the stairs. Go around to the left and knife the guard with his back to
you. Head along this path between the containers. You’ll run into another
guard who’ll give chase. Run back to the steps and hide there. He’ll give up
and walk back. Either sneak up behind him and knife him or shoot him in the
head with the silenced pistol.

The third guard strolls around. Wait til he’s not facing you, then knife him.
Make your way to the 4th and final guard. He’s over to the right, up the
steps. Slip up behind him and knife him, then move around to the front of the
ship. There’s another guard here. Knife him and then go in through the
doorway. Make your way down into the bottom of the ship and plant the bug,
providing the guard down the hall doesn’t see you. Kill him if he does.

Press Triangle to plant the bug, then go back upstairs and get off the ship.
Swim back to the docks marked by a yellow marker on your radar. You’ll pocket
$11000.

The Da Nang Thang

You’ll ride shotgun in a chopper, as they assault the tanker from Amphibious
Assault. Shoot the men on the tops of the containers with the minigun using
L1/Circle. For continuity purposes, my chopper was hit by an RPG rocket when it
flew around the other side of the ship and I had to swim to the ladder and take
all the guys out myself.

This mission’s quite linear from this stage on. It’s similar to Gray Imports -
just kill your way to the checkpoints on your radar. You’ll need to collect the
weapons dropped by the guards since you lost all yours in the helicopter
explosion.

At the section with the refugees, kill all the guards in the area and then
shoot the padlock on the crate to rescue them. Climb back out of the storage
area and up onto the bridge marked on your radar. Kill the old man in the
bridge with the katana he throws you, and then make your way back to the
refugees. You’ll escape by boat and bag $15000. This ends Wu’s employment.

It’s time to meet up with Cesar at the docks. Be sure to stock up at Ammu-Nation
beforehand.

Join Cesar on the roof using the walkway at the back of the building. Snipe the
Ballas on the rooftop before they kill Wu’s men. There are some dead ahead, and
another group to the left side. Once they’re down, Toreno will show up, but
will flee when he sees the dead bodies. Get off the rooftop and run across the
road onto the pier. Kill your way to T-Bone and then kill him. Ryder will try
and make a run for it. Jump into the water after him and get in the other boat.
Chase him down and driveby his boat with your gun til he’s dead. You’ll bag
$15000. Be careful – do not under any circumstances go near the undiscovered
islands, or you’ll get Wanted Level 3+. Check your map and head back to shore.

Cesar will want to see you back at the garage.

Toreno’s Last Flight

Get to the helipad to stop Toreno. When you get there, kill all of his guards
and get to the helipad. You’re too late to stop him. Grab the rocket launcher
and then get back to your vehicle. Race across town to the freeway for one last
opportunity to stop Toreno. You’ll need to race ahead of him to have time to
get out of your vehicle and get ready to shoot. If you manage to hit him, his
chopper will go down and you’ll bag $18000.

Collect the rigged car from the bomb shop downtown. Take it to the factory. To
get in, kill the two guards outside using driveby. Now, the thing about this
mission is, that it’s designed to get the car blown up before you can reach
your destination. What the game isn’t counting on, is you doing it on foot. Go
in and clear out the factory area, or alternatively, drive a little, then clear
an area, then bring the car a bit further, then clear a bit more. This way you
can deliver the car safely into the crack factory beside the chemical tanks.

Once you arm the bomb, run straight out of the factory, ignoring the men
running in to kill you, to beat the timer easily. Then make your way back to
the front gate, which is now locked. Take one of their cars and drive back
around and ramp out through the ruined building to escape the compound.

You’ll receive $500 for the Unique Stunt you complete in escaping, as well as
$25000 when you return to the gas station. Shortly after completion, a mystery
voice (Toreno) will call you and summon you to his ranch. Head for the ?.

Use the save icon outside the ranch when you get there.

to the abandoned town to bag $1000. Get back to the ranch (long walk).

Take the plane and fly to Angel Pine, but you must follow the terrain at all

reward is a nice $15000.

Drive straight for the departing jet, dodging the falling barrels, and drive up
the ramp into the back. Once onboard, fight your way to the top of the plane,
using melee combat and avoid the cascading barrels. Take the parachute from the
last agent, then throw a satchel charge at the wall of the plane and jump out
the back to safety.
There’s a $20000 reward for this one. Return to the hangar between 20:00 and
6:00.

Fight your way into the army base. Ignore the stealth mission, just kill every
soldier you find and get spotted by the lights. Find the vent (yellow marker)
and shoot the grates open, and then drop down inside. Make your way to the
bottom and shoot the grate open and drop inside.

The base is quite big but if you explore you’ll find it to be quite linear.
Make your way to the control room which is the opposite direction to the yellow
marker, and turn the SAM site off by standing in the red circle. This will aid
your escape. Then, since its probably after 2am by this stage, quickly make
your way to the black project (yellow marker).

You’ll need to kill the scientist in the lab to get his keycard to open the
door in the same lab. The hardest part of this mission is fighting your way
down the tower to the project at the bottom, which is infact a jetpack. Hold X
to fly out of the tower and away. You won’t be attacked at all since you shut
down the defences. Take the jetpack to Truth when you’re done playing around
with it. You can collect a parachute here and use the Sanchez to return to the
airfield.

Use the jet pack to join the train at Las Venturas. Fly over it and kill the
soldiers. You need to land on each carriage and shoot the crates to see if they
contain the green goo. I had to go the whole way up the train to nearly the
front before I found it. Retrieve it once you find it and bring it to Truth
back at the airbase.

You will now earn $20000, Verdant Meadows Airfield will become an asset earning
up to $10000 and you can now get the jetpack from here.

Save your game in the office and then go see your old friend Wu Zi Mu in his
new location in Las Venturas. The Desert Eagle is now available to buy. It’s a
good idea to buy the house south of the Casino for easy access to his missions,
should you fail.

Drive around town with the gang member strapped to the hood. Handbrake turns,

nitros fitted at Transfender and then do handbrake turns after a burst of nitro
speed.

You’ll get $5000 when you bring him back to the casino.

Get over to the quarry outside the city. You’ll have 2:30 to get down into the
pit and take the dynamite before the workers detonate it. The best thing to do
is just get back in your car and ram it out over the edge to get down quickly.
Jump in the dump truck and run over 3 of the 4 crates to access the dynamite
inside. The 4th is in a pickup truck going around the quarry. Jack him and set
the crate down, then run over it with the dump truck. Collect all 4 charges,
then get on the Sanchez and follow the simple stunt course to get out of the
quarry. Deliver it to the car just outside to earn $7000.

Drive to the factory outside of town. The best way to do this mission is to
have 10+ satchel charges with you. Climb over the fence and into the factory
grounds. Kill the guards inside and stick a satchel charge to every machine in
the place with a green arrow. Go back outside and blow the charges with a
remote. Get back the casino and you’ll get $10000.

Head out of town to the waypoint to collect Truth’s two friends. The best
vehicle is a motorbike of some description, since it’s offroad for the
majority. When you get there, head to the nearest road and jack a vehicle to
carry 3 people. Head back up and collect the two men. Take them to the snake
farm just down the road.

Kill the welcoming committee and take the men back to Las Venturas. Drop them
off at the casino. You can now go see the Mafia for work, at Caligula’s Casino.

Get over to the hospital to pick up Johnny. When you get there, you’ll find out
that the Mafia have already collected him. There are multiple ambulances in
transport in the city. Check them all to see if they contain Johnny. To check
an ambulance, ram it to see how the driver reacts to you. If he stops, the
ambulance is real. Check the others. You’ll eventually find the one which turns
its sirens on and flees. Chase after it and either wreck into it or do as I did
and riddle it with gunfire while on a motorbike in pursuit. They’ll eventually
stop, get out and try and kill you. Either whack them or ignore them and take
the ambulance. Drive it back across the city to the Mafia’s depot. You’ll earn
$5000 and Tenpenny will show up in town offering work.

Go back and see the Mafia.

Take Rosenberg to the Sindacco Abattoir on the outskirts. The guy you had to
scare in Fender Ketchup is here, and will recognise you and have a heart attack
and die. The Sindacco Mafia will then try and kill you. Kill everyone in the
factory on your way out and then bring Rosenberg back to the Caligula Casino
to earn $8000.

Madd Dogg will now offer work as well as Wu Zi Mi again. Go see Wu Zi.

There’s a DEA agent meeting an FBI agent near El Quebrados, far west of your
location. Head there. A handy way to get to it is to take the jet pack from
Verdant Meadows. You’ll need to kill the agent before he can leave in the
chopper. If you miss your opportunity, you will be told to give chase in the
other chopper. Don’t bother, you’ll have to kill about 10 DEA to do so. Give
chase in the jetpack, you’ll be able to just about keep up. He lands on a
helipad in Las Venturas. This is your opportunity. Land beside him, hit
Triangle to bail out of your jetpack and then shoot him. Take his dossier and
that’s the mission complete.

Tenpenny has no more work for you. Save your game and go see Madd Dogg.

Use the pickup truck in the parking lot to catch Madd Dogg. When the game
positions you, just stay in that line and use X and Square to go forwards and
backwards. Keep the back of the truck under Madd Dogg at all times. You might
think you’re too far out but you’re not, that’s where he falls.

When he lands in the back, take him to hospital without hitting the truck.
He’ll promise to look you up when he gets out of rehab.

The only work available now is the Mafia at Caligula’s Palace.

This mission has been my favourite of the whole game so far. Get over to the
airport either in your own car or using the bike outside. Take the body armor
in the hangar when you get there and then jump into the plane. Fly out to meet
the approaching hitmen in their plane. You need to get up to their altitude,
then get behind them and fly through the marker above their plane. The coolest
most unexpected video sequence ever will take place, then you’ll find yourself
in their plane. Follow the onscreen controls and kill all 4 hitmen, then kill
the pilot and take control. Return to the airport.

If you manage to land successfully, you’ll complete the mission and earn
$15000. Meet Tenpenny in the abandoned town after this mission to discuss the
dossier you retrieved for him in Misappropriation.

High Noon

Tenpenny will order you to dig a hole for the informant cop and leave. Pulaski
has instructions to kill you when you’re done digging, but the informant loses
his life to save yours. Pulaski tries to escape in his sports car. You can’t
stop him, so jump in the buggy to your right and give pursuit.

Now, this mission has an unavoidable outcome no matter what you do. I forced
Pulaski’s sports car off a cliff causing it to explode, and then ran him into
the ground and shot him dead. The video shows you stopping him outside his car
on the winding cliff road.

Note: About his gun, he will take huge chunks of health off you so kill him as
fast as possible.

Take his Buffalo to get back to Las Venturas. It’s a long and dangerous drive
so take your time. Look out for the Ammu-Nation just after the oil drilling
fields.


I was reading your walkthrough for GTA:SA. In your suggestion for high noon
you say to ram him off a cliff. I think I have a better idea. Buy some remote
explosives. About five should do it. You won't use them all but just in case.
When you can control CJ again run to the cops car. Plant a remote explosive
on it then run back to yours. Put one on your car. Then drive after him. You
now gotta wait for him to make a mistake or crash so that he stops for a
minute.Get out when he is stuck somewhere. Get enough speed and make sure you
are about to hit him. The bail out. Your car may or may not hit him. Press

Head to the airport and take the waiting jet. Fly to Liberty City, marked by
the yellow marker. You’ll end up inside it, behind the counter. Kill everyone
inside. The guys downstairs have heavier weapons, so be careful. I threw a
satchel charge down from the stairs and went back up and detonated it, killing
both. Go down and out the back, down the stairs into the kitchen. There’s 2-3
more enroute. Out through the kitchen you’ll find the rear exit leading to the
parking lot. There’s a few more out here, and your target. Use the sniper
rifle if you’ve got one, it’s invaluable here. The assault will end when the
last guy goes down. You’ll find yourself back in your jet enroute for Las
Venturas.

Dive below the cloud cover and line yourself up for the yellow marker. Fly
over the airport and then circle around and line yourself up for the runway
and land. The reward is $20000. You’ll get two calls just after. One to say
Salvatore is done with you for now, thanking you for your work and that he’ll
call in the future. The second is from Wu Zi to say he’s ready to do the job
and is wondering where you are. Go see him.

Sweet will make an emotional call from prison after this mission to say goodbye.

A Home In The Hills

Madd Dogg is now out of rehab. You’re now returning to Los Santos. Parachute
onto the roof of the mansion or if you miss the mark, run around and up the
ramp. There’s a ton of guys here you need to kill to help the Triad assault on
the mansion. Be aware of guys running up behind you. The easiest way to do this
bit is to make sure and land on the helipad with the other triads. To do this,
open your parachute immediately and then hold down on the left analog stick to
keep your legs up. Push up when you’re over the helipad to land on it.

Once the guys on the roof are dead, take the Triad inside as marked on the
radar. Its just down the ramp and around the corner. Once inside, fight your
way along the corridor. Do not run up it. Gradually sweep each room. You’ll
find armor in one of the left hand rooms before the end of the corridor. When
you get there, you’ll find out Big Poppa is downstairs and you have to go
ahead alone. Fight your way down and around to the left to get some health in
the kitchen, then go towards the Big Poppa marker.

He’ll now make a run for it. Try and fight your way through his men while
keeping up pace with him. If you get to take him out before he reaches the
exit, well done. If not, you’ll have to chase him down into Los Santos in a
car with terrible handling. That’s what I had to do, so I’m unsure if he can
even be shot, considering sprint is disabled in the mansion and the one
opportunity to hit him at the pool is not possible because he’s too far away
and you only lock onto his two guards.

The hardest part of this mission is the driving part. The Windsor slides all
over the place and spins out easily on grass. The mountain-esque terrain
doesn’t help either. Drive safely and quickly after Big Poppa. When you do
actually catch him, just ram him, pull out in front of him to stop him
driving away and empty 3298039 rounds into his car til it starts to burn, then
reverse to safety to pass the mission when it explodes.

You’ll receive a call from Rosenberg afterwards, who you invite back to Los
Santos along with Kent Paul. Return to Madd Dogg’s mansion.

Vertical Bird

Toreno will take you out of the city and drop you off at a shore, next to a
speedboat. Take it and head to the ship on your radar. Abandon it when you get
close after the video and swim in through the rear bay door. Get out and head
up into the warehouse area. Wait til the guards leave and shoot the engineer
in the forklift in the head.

Go upstairs. Go through the open door here and along the passage. You’ll find
a soldier sitting in the TV area. Shoot him in the back of the head with the
silenced 9mm. Proceed into the main docking area. This is where you’ll
probably lose your stealth and the carrier will go into full alert. It doesn’t
matter. Head to the yellow marker to disable the SAM sites onboard. Then go out
and steal a jet. Hold down X to rise vertically, then push up on the right
analog stick to rotate the thrusters out behind you so you can go forwards.
Take off and before you get far, you’ll get 3 jets on your tail. Use R1 to
lock onto them and when the target turns red or gray/black, hit L1 to fire
homing missiles at them. Shoot all 3 down, then head to the ships (yellow
markers).

Push down on the right analog stick to put the jets down so you can hover,
and then take out the ships. When you’ve done so, bring the jet back to Verdant
Meadows and land it on the runway, then bring it into the hangar. You’ll get
$50000 and you will always be able to collect a Hydra jet from this location
once you do.

Head back to your mansion in Los Santos.

Head down into Los Santos and pick up Sweet. Take him back to where it all
started, at Grove Street Hood. You’ll have to retake it now in a gang war
similar to Doberman. Survive all three waves and keep Sweet alive to retake
Grove Street. Gang wars can now be started again throughout the city.

You now have two options, work for Sweet or continue working for yourself.
Return to your mansion in the hills to continue your own work.

Take Madd Dogg to OG Loc’s videoshoot. He’ll escape on a hovercraft. Follow him
in your own. The chase will end up on the pier where you killed Madd Dogg’s
manager in Management Issues. There, it’ll transfer to karts. Just keep up with
OG Loc til the end of the race. Madd Dogg will get a recording contract at the
end of this and OG Loc will be forced out of business.

You can now head back to the Grove to see Sweet.

the hood.

Recruit two Grove Street gang members and get over to the train station with
Cesar. Help him and his gang to clear out their old neighborhood. When you’ve
killed all the gang members in the area, cross over the road to the alleyway
and help him clear it out. Most of the gangs are straight ahead but be aware of
Cesar when he shouts that they’re coming behind you as well.

Once you’ve cleared the alleyway, you’ll reach Cesar’s house. Quickly kill the
gang member on the roof with the rocket launcher, then the one on the left with
the flame thrower before you worry about the last few.

You’re now expected to take over more territories before you can continue.
Sweet will call you and tell you he knows where Big Smoke is, when you’ve taken
and defended enough territories.

Drive Sweet to the crack fortress in the north end of Los Santos. When you get
there, you need a SWAT tank to get in. Take the bicycle and go retrieve the
tank at the riots a few streets over. Drive it back and smash into the
fortress. Use it to run over everyone on the ground floor, inside and out.
When you’ve killed them all, get out and go through the door to go up to the
2nd floor.

Fight your way along the linear corridor to the body armor. Collect it and then
enter the double doors to your right (push them). Run back out and from the
hall, kill everyone in the room as they try to run out after you. Make sure to
get the balcony guy dead ahead.

Clear out this room and the room beyond, then ascend the stairs. Take a right
into the dark room. There’s a combat shotgun and some health here. Now go
through the double doors.

Floor 2: Drug Lab

Be ready to kill the guy at the top of the stairs guarding the body armor. Take
it and then turn to face the stairs with the double doors to your right. Aim
and then roll right. Kill the guy facing you, and proceed down the hall and in
through the other double doors. Take your time in here in progressing. There
are a lot of guards and running in too quickly can spell death quite easily. 
Stick to the right and use plenty of cover to despatch the drugs workers on the
ground floor and the guards in the upper levels. Take the steps and go all the
way around, killing the new guards who arrive below enroute. Kill the guy who
comes running out, then go into the office where he came from. Get the health
before going through the other doors.

Floor 3: Ballas Lounge

Same as Floor 2, there’s body armor at the top of the stairs guarded by a guy
so be ready. Collect it and go through the double doors. Kill the two guards
in the lobby, then go through the doors they were guarding. Kill the guards
here and the one straight ahead on the raised area, then proceed into the
adjacent room. Clear it and shoot open the double doors. Use the advantage to
kill whoever you can before proceeding.

The two rooms on either side contain dancers and 1-2 guys. Kill the guys in
the main corridor first, then use the shoot open technique to try and kill the
guys inside. Clear out the two rooms and collect the health and armor. You can
ignore the dancers, they are harmless/friendly.

Proceed to the end of the corridor and round to the left, then through the
double doors. Run up the stairs to cue a video sequence with Big Smoke.
Killing Big Smoke is easy if you ignore the game’s instructions. Kill the
guards who appear and when it’s quiet, empty as many rounds at Smoke as you
can. He’s wearing armor but he’s killable, just keep the bullets coming.

Tenpenny will turn up when Smoke goes down. Switch the nightvision goggles on
and make your way down out of the crack factory quickly. There’s more guards
but they aren’t as tough as before. Don’t worry about clearing rooms, just
kill as you go and get down. Snatch the armor from its usual top of the stairs
location and keep moving.

You’ll get to a fire extinguisher. You need to take your goggles off to use
it, so each time, select your goggles, hit circle, then select the
extinguisher, put the fire out and switch back to goggles. Keep moving here,
you’ll be tight for time near the end. You’ll have a few more fires to put out
before you escape.

Once you get out, you’ll have to give chase to Tenpenny using the white car.
Keep up with him long enough and a cop will go out on the back to kick Sweet
off. Catch up to the back of the engine to let Sweet drop off to safety. Sweet
will take the wheel. You must now ride shotgun, like many missions before. Use
the gun to keep the cops and gangs at bay while Sweet keeps up with Tenpenny.
This section is long, so keep the car as healthy as possible. It ends when you
get back to Grove Street.

With Tenpenny lying dead in the street, CJ pulls his gun to end things
properly, but Sweet holds him back and they turn to walk into the house, but
not before CJ stoops over his arch enemy and gives him one final push and
mocks him as he walks away.

This section of the FAQ is optional but will aid you immensely to complete San
Andreas with ease, should you choose to complete all of the sections listed.
The first thing you need to do is to get yourself some more health and money.
The ambulance vigilante missions will solve both problems.






Vigilante Ambulance Missions
----------------------------



First, kill a random pedestrian and wait on the ambulance to arrive at the
scene. Take it to a quiet area and using your melee weapon, break all 4 of the
doors off. This will enable patients to get in quickly. Now get back in and
hit R3 to start the Vigilante Ambulance missions.


All you have to do is drive to each of the dark blue markers on your radar,
collect the patients there and bring them to the hospital, which is the yellow
marker. YOu'll earn money and time on the clock each time you drop off the
patients at the hospital. At the start of each level, check your map and plan
your journey. Since your ambulance only holds 3 at a time, you'll need to
collect the furtherest 3 each time and work back to the closest, for the best
use of the allocated time, although you'll only be collecting more than 3 from
Level 4 onwards. Reach and complete Level 12 to complete the missions and also
gain . Below are the Levels, patients and rewards.


   Level 1 - 1 patient, $50
   Level 2 - 2 patients, $200
   Level 3 - 3 patients, $450
   Level 4 - 4 patients, $800
   Level 5 - 5 patients, $1250
   Level 6 - 6 patients, $1800
   Level 7 - 7 patients, $2450

Next, you need to vastly increase your money. Using the proceeds you just
earned from the ambulance missions, purchase the house in the north/northeast
area of Los Santos, to the right of the large green area/lake. You'll
recognise it by its white picket fence and brown driveway. Save your game
inside here. Next up is more money. A LOT more.






Gambling
--------



The next step of Made Man is to earn enough money to last you until the end
of the game. You will not require any more money once you complete this
step, so if you don't want to follow this and would rather earn your money
from missions and assets, skip this and go to the next section below.


Grab a vehicle outside and then park with your new house on your right.
Drive to the end of the street and turn right, then the next left, so you
would have Glen Park on your right. Drive down to the end of this street
and turn right again, so you still have the park on your right as you head
up the hill. Take the left at the junction at the top of the hill so you
head into the city area with Glen Park behind you. Slowly follow this road,
looking out for the betting shop on the left hand side. It's underneath
the overhead highway and has a red and blue outside and is called Inside
Track. Go inside.


Go to one of the two machines on the left and press Triangle to use it. The
betting form will be displayed, where you must select one of five horses.
They are displayed from best odds of winning to worst. The key here is to
bet every penny you have using the money buttons, on the worst horse with
the biggest odds, which is always the bottom and has odds of either 11/1 or
12/1. When you've put all your money on it, start the race. If it wins, go
back to the house and save your game, then return here and repeat. If it
loses, load your savegame and try again. It takes patience but it does
work.


When you have $120-$130m, proceed back to Grove Street with a car. Park it
in the middle of the development and shoot the gas tank. Watch it burn and
eventually a fire engine will turn up to extinguish it. Steal it and
activate the vigilante missions.






Vigilante Fire Engine Missions
------------------------------



These are really easy, you have loads of time to do them as long as you're
a decent driver. Use the right analog stick to turn the water cannon on
the roof and either Circle or L1 to fire it. Extinguish all burning cars
and passengers that get out and run about, as marked on the radar by
dark blue markers, the same as ambulance was. You'll be fireproof when
you pass Level 12. Now get a taxi and activate the vigilante missions for
it.






Vigilante Taxi Missions
-----------------------



Quite simple. Passengers are marked as dark blue. Collect one, then take him
or her to their chosen destination. Make it before the Tip bar runs out to
get a bonus, otherwise don't bother rushing as long as time doesn't run out.
Deliver 50 passengers to complete the mission and gain nitro in all taxis.

Now obtain a police motorbike and drive it to a fast food outlet.






Vigilante Police Missions
-------------------------



There is a bug associated with the police vigilante missions and the interior
of fast food outlets, or perhaps all buildings. When you enter a fast food
place, the criminal you are in pursuit of will more than likely die after
10-20 seconds. If you watch your radar, you'll see him change places or
become lower than you. This means he is about to die. If the time you have
remaining to return to a police vehicle drops below 30 seconds and a criminal
has not died, go outside and get back on your bike then off again and back
inside.


When a criminal dies and the level is complete, go outside and get on the
bike to get the new level's challenge. Keep doing this until you get past
Level 12 and receive 150% armor. You can then cancel the vigilante missions.
Now go back to Grove Street and bring up your map. See the Pizza place to
the west, beside Reece's barber shop and the car respray shop? Go to that
pizza place. Standing outside it, face the road with the pizza place behind
you. You'll see a road leading off straight ahead of you. Go down to the end
and around the area with the chainlink fence, you will find a gas station.
Parked at that gas station is a Broadway, which looks like a car from the
50's. It's a pimp mobile which you can do vigilante missions in. Get in
and activate them.






Vigilante Pimp Missions
-----------------------



This is the easiest vigilante by far. Just pick up the prostitutes marked
on the radar and drop them at their destinations. You've loads of time to
do it in and no complications if you do it early on in the game, so just
drive quickly and safely to the destination. When you're picking up a girl,
you aren't on a time limit so you can use the time to get your car
resprayed. You'll not be charged any more by prostitutes that you pick up
and bring to a quiet area for sex. Instead, they will pay you.


When this mission ends, save your game and head to the nearest shoreline.






Swimming
--------



One of the later missions requires you to have a certain level of lung
capacity, so it's best to just max it out for simplicity. All you have to
do is wade out or swim out til it's deep enough to dive, then hold Circle
to dive under and then hold X to swim around. Keep an eye on your air
bar in the top right so you don't run out of air. Do this for around 60
to 90 minutes to max out your lung capacity, watching for the message
informing you of this in the top left.


Next, visit the gym near Grove Street.






Muscle and Stamina
------------------



The machines in this gym along the righthand side will help you build up
your muscle and stamina. Use the weights to build muscle by following
the onscreen controls, namely Triangle and Circle repeatedly, one after
the other.


Look out for the message telling you that you can now learn new fighting
moves, and visit the boxer training at the back, who will teach you how
to box if you beat him in a fight. Press right on the d-pad to accept
his challenge, then beat him up and learn his moves. Afterwards, head
to the running and cycling machines.


Stamina is built by rapidly tapping X on the cycling machine. You can
use the running machine if you wish, but cycling I found to be easier.
Maximise both stats and make sure you always have a little fat by eating
to avoid losing muscle.


Now, this will put you in a position where you will find completing the
rest of the first half of the game a walkover, since you're overpowered
beyond the game's expectations. You can now return to 2.05, which is
the mission "Nines and AK's", or get yourself a gang tag guide and
mark all 100 tags around the Los Santos area to have the AK, sawnoff,
Tec 9 and molotov cocktails spawn at your Grove Street house. You can
then waste ammo becoming a Hitman in each of the three weapons, which
will be handy when it comes to gang war later after the mission
"Doberman". I became Hitman in the pistol and all 3 reward weapons
before returning to 2.05.
