Pay attention or get left behind...dead, or confused

The good:

Faithful to the license; Balls to the wall action; Decent enough weapon selection; Awesome graphics and sound; Amazing English voice acting; Controls feel quite smooth...

The bad:

...once you're used to them as the controls feel bleeding awkward at first; Ghost hacking wasn't quite used to its full potential, and it's a pain in the ass to initiate it; Enemy dialogue can feel repetitive after some time; Barely any replay value to speak of due to uninspired multiplayer

Summary:

Introduction:
A game that I often see in bargain bins and second hand stores everywhere, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex is a licensed game designed by Bandai. It could be ignored for two reasons - one, nobody is over that piece of shit Dr Jeckyll And Mr Hyde game for the NES, and two, it's a licensed game therefore it'll suck - but no matter what, there will always be people who are willing to try it out and see why it's ignored, but then get mad because it doesn't deserve to be ignored. Me, I halfway agree. Part of me says that this game had a buttload of potential and could have r...

Worth Shelling Out For

Summary:

Video game tie-ins are nothing new and somewhat well know (even if such notoriety seems mostly from the stigmas of tie-in equalling a crap product). Anime itself gets tons of tie-ins too, but the difference is that Western markets normally don't ever see them outside of a select few. Aside from it taking time for such things to even reach us it seems that anime itself just isn't mainstream enough to risk such a venture. The past generation has seen a slight welcome change in this approach, as more of the big animes have gained related video games that somehow make it outside of Japan. Ghost...

My Stand Alone Favourite

The good:

Being able to play as Motoko
Wide range of unlockables
Suitable story
Graphics are all right
Lotsa weapons, so you can kick ass in so many different ways

The bad:

Not a revolutionary action game
The enemy AI is quite crap, dare I say, for BANDAI
It's so short...

Summary:

For starters, yes, I AM a fan of Ghost in the Shell, all mediums, in fact. I try not to be biased, but when you're a rabid fangirl, it's hard.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex is not a nasty cash-in. It is actually a quite decent game. Gameplay is smooth, graphics are good, and it even has the same voice artists as the TV series.
Once you get the hang of all the different button functions, gameplay is simple and almost intuitive. If not, you can always change the controls in the options menu.
Looking at it, you quickly realize that it's not reaching the pinnacle of graphics, but they're...

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, isn't alone anymore

The good:

There is a lot of good stuff in this game. first, you have four characters to choose from.
-Motoko
-Batou
-Saito
-Togusa

and when you do multi-player you can also play as Aramaki (chief)

There are plenty of stages to go through. some even take more than 30 minutes to complete. each is specifically designed with the surroundings of the part of town you are in. Each stage has it's own personalized mission. there are even sub-missions and event missions. You can also play with the Tachikoma.
You can ride in them and fight in them. There are lots of guns to choose from too. also there are lots of weapons for your Tachikoma to choose from too. Tachikoma's have 5 different areas to choose a weapon from. You can also change there color or stick with the original blue. There are also a number of enemy's to fight along with fighting other Tachikomas. The story line is action packed and ready to begin. This is one game that I think you should get

The bad:

There isn't much bad to this game. The Tachikomas sometimes forget the orders. Sometimes they do it when you are in a tight spot and dont want them too. You can only play as Aramaki (chief) in multiplayer. The music is generally the same for every stage. and the characters mouths dont move sometimes in the cut-scenes.

Summary:

This is my first game I bought for my PSP. It was a good choice too. This is my favorite game so far. The graphics are good and the fighting style is excellent. This is a superb game with all the action that you need.
