Gauntlet: Dark Legacy User Reviews
Addicting, Pretty Good StoryThe bad:
Relativley Everything elseSummary:
Normally, I write pretty long reviews. Games like this, however, have no reason for that. This game sucks hard. The graphics are horrific, making it look like a PlayStation game for this generation. The soundtrack is very repetative, and every enemy sounds and dies the same. The action is very easy; hold down a button and watch people die. Make your way to the end. Repeat for a long time. But in the middle of the first level, you'll wonder why you spent the money on this piece. Unless you love doing this stuff. I know I spent alot of time leveling up my character for no particular reason. T...
Being old enough to have grown up with the original Gauntlet arcade machine, I've always loved the original game. I remember playing Gauntlet with my sister on our Atari computer for hours upon hours. More recently, there was a Gauntlet game on the Sega Genesis that was pretty nice (Gauntlet IV).
Now we have Gauntlet Dark Legacy on the PS2. This game's story is about--... Wait a minute. Did I say ''story''? It's a Gauntlet game. It doesn't need a story. It's about dungeons, treasure, monsters, and mass carnage. What more could you ask for? Ah-hem. Anyway, the story's about some wizard named...
Leveling up characters is fun
Many different levels
Not very good replay value
too easy (even on hard)
If you're looking for a game that will provide you with a fun multiplayer game and some 10 or so hours of gameplay, then this game is for you. If you're looking for a game that requires lots of skill along with knowledge and challenging puzzles...then look elsewhere. This game isn't too bad, however it is pretty much straight forward through levels and takes no skill whatsoever. If you liked the N64 version, then you'll like this version too (seeing as how they are pretty much the same game!). This game will provide you some fun for a day or two but as soon as you beat it, there's no point ...
Lots of ways to make it interesting, relatively easy to playThe bad:
Relatively easy to play, if you're looking for a challenge, this isn't it.Summary:
I LOVE this game! First of all, you can play up to four people - so having friends over is a good thing. Second, There are so many secrets in it - even if you solve everything, there are still goals to reach. in all, a great way to waste away a rainy afternoon.
Work your way through the different worlds, unlocking others along your way. Find the secret characters hidden in the challenges under trap doors. advance your charactersinto more powerful characters.
I think the thing I like best, is that just because, you "beat the game", you're not done with it, to collect dust on a shelf. You ...
Awesome graphics, sound and chracter designs. The bad:
When you get a new item when your item slots are full you will not get the item. And on the chracter select screen Yellow Falconess looks like she has no top on :|Summary:
This game completely and utterly rocks. The characters have great detail on them and their voices are way better than I expected them to be. All the items have surperb effects and you can never have too many of them. Anyone who likes gauntlet games shold buy Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. ...
It's multiplayer.The bad:
Where should I begin? The graphics make it really really difficult to see where you're going and what you're fighting. It's pretty boring, too. It's just constant running around killing, well, whatever. It's really easy to get tired of. It's basically a first-person shooter, and I HATE first-person shooters!Summary:
Really, don't even waste your money on this game! Don't rent it, and certainly DO NOT buy this game! The graphics are not even good enough for a N64. It could've done a lot better when it came to grahics, really. There was so much potential because it was on Gamecube, but it completely blew it! Gameplay was heck. I only could stand doing about two levels and I was already sick of it! You start off with only two moves and never seem to unlock more. It's incredibly repetitive. If it wants to be a multi-player cooperative game, it really should've been more like Four Swords on GBA where you co...
