F-Zero: Maximum Velocity User Reviews
It seems that the commonly accepted vision of the future tends to carry with it ideas of technology advancing far beyond our current standards. Medical services will be able to tackle virtually any illness, laser guns will be the new choice of weapon for the armed forces and the Internet will be so heavily integrated into society that it will be impossible to escape from it.
Another common view of the future is that we will leave our ground-bound cars behind and start zooming around in flying, or at least hovering, vehicles of varying designs. It is this that forms the basic concept of F-Zer...
-Excellent smooth graphics
-Very good music and sound
-Menus are easy to navigate
F-Zero Maximum Velocity is without doubt the finest racing game on the GBA. It is far superior to games like Mario Kart Super Circuit. The reason for this is that it is so much faster and smoother. Mario Kart feels really slow after you have been playing F-Zero.
The gameplay is fantastic and is excellently designed. For example, the last car is the car that will get all the fastest times, however this will only happen if you are good enough to control it.
The music is good and adds to an alround excellent gaming experience.
In Summary: Get this game if you don't have it because it is so good.
- Great sound - Good graphics - Gameplay keeps you hookedThe bad:
- Gets a bit repetetiveSummary:
I bought this game about 6 months ago or so - I saw it on the shelf on sale and since the FZero games on SNES were great I figured buy it. This was no disappointment. I still play this game by myself when boredom takes over - it never gets old to me. My friends notice that it's a bit repetetive though. Muliplayer is what you'd expect - nothing special, though the single-pak link is a great feature. Music in this game rocks, especially in a fast-paced game like this. Other sounds are pretty good too. Graphics are great except for the enemy cars - I wish they could be rendered like the on...
Very fast and smooth
Great track-design and control
Takes some time getting used to
The opponents ships look quite pixled
Graphics: Sharp and clear, good variation in backrounds and the shere look of the tracks, very smooth and fast, the other ships looks quite pixeled, though.
Sound: Nice and loud sound-effects, a good number of different tunes, none of them that memmorable, but certainly not bad, and the overall impression of the sound-track is good.
Gameplay: Control takes some time getting used to, but is really very good. Great design of the different tracks, four difficulty-levels, with the opponent ships getting quite brutal in the end. Very, very fast, an enjoyable multiplayer as well.
Very fast if a litle too fast at times, the graphics look great and it generally plays quite well. The bad:
Not as good as some magasines made it out to be, I read one that gave it 92% yet gave castlevania in my eyes a superior game a lower score.Summary:
This is a good racing game but it is too linear and repetitive at times and thew multiplayer is very limited. It may be worth buying if your a fan of the series but if you are not there are far better gba games out there.
-fasted pace non-stop
-alot of cars to unlock
-What you have to do to unlock some of those cars
-sometimes the cars go a little TOO fast
This is a non-stop fast action racing game true to the SNES and N64 classics even though captain falcon doesn't show in this one it is still a good racing game.
