This is very upsetting to hear. In RoH Joe could wrestle great matches against the best wrestlers in the world, as well as having many dream matches with Japanese wrestlers still left to go. Wrestling for TNA alone he can still job out to Crazy Angle and be under-utilized. Joe did a lot to build up Ring of Honor as a major independent through his title reign, and I hope the rest of his career treats him well.

I couldn't believe it when I first heard that Joe was leaving ROH. He will be missed. He was one of the biggest factors in ROH's success with his world title reign and his clasic matches. I was hoping to see Joe become ROH's first ever triple crown champ by winning the tag titles, but I guess that won't happen now. Hopefully he comes back some day and as either a special attraction or as a regular. Hopefully his last match is against Kobashi. I know it's a long shot, but if it was agianst Kobashi there'd be no better send off for Joe.

It'll be interesting to see who it's against. Since Danielson is still 4-5 months from returning, I guess my next choice among non-Japan guys would be Homicide, even if it's non-title. Those two have, excluding Danielson, done more for ROH in the promotion's 5 years than anyone else.

Announced matches for Joe's Farewell Tour:
2/16, Manhattan-vs. Takeshi Morishima
2/17, Philly-vs. Davey Richards
2/23, Dayton-vs. Jimmy Rave
2/24, Chicago-with Homicide vs. Morishima & Nigel McGuinness. Final ROH US match.
3/3, Liverpool (UK)-vs. McGuinness
3/4, Liverpool-TBA. Final ROH match. For now, hopefully. Maybe he'll still be able to do an occasional appearance like A.J. Styles still does.

FIP news:
The stips have been announced for the Roderick Strong-Davey Richards matches this weekend, both for the FIP Heavyweight Title. Friday (tomorrow) is an I Quit match. Saturday is a 2 out of 3 falls match.

Friday also will see Jake "The Snake" Roberts and a partner of his choice vs. Larry Sweeney and a partner of his choice. Saturday has a Roberts-Sweeney singles match.

Here are the current weekend lineups:
Friday, Melbourne:
Roderick Strong vs. Davey Richards-I Quit Match for the FIP Heavyweight Title
Dream Partner Tag Match-Jake Roberts & TBA vs. Larry Sweeney & TBA
Mark Briscoe vs. Necro Butcher
Jay Briscoe vs. Mad Man Pondo
More TBA

Saturday, Crystal River:
Jake Roberts vs. Larry Sweeney
Roderick Strong vs. Davey Richards-2 of 3 falls for the FIP Heavyweight Title
The Briscoes vs. Necro Butcher & Mad Man Pondo for the FIP Tag Team Titles
Black Market w/Allison Danger vs. The YRR w/Daffney. Losers leave town (FIP) for 90 days.
More TBA.

Screw the Newswire stuff I posted before, it was apparently some dumbasses on the ROH boards bumping the thread from last year.

Don't you read the news you post? You posted news from last year In fact, the Delirious thing you PM'ed me is from last year too, and he won his match

That's why I added that "I'm not sure about the legitimacy of it". Gabe posted it originally on the ROH boards today, so apparently he's trying to make suckas out of us too.

Edit: Never mind, it's gone. Should've known it was suckas on the ROH boards bumping last year's thread. Off with their heads.
2nd Edit: 411mania.com says that the main reason for Joe leaving ROH, although not said in the Video Wire, is to focus completely on TNA. Which most of us probably suspected anyway. I'd heard some rumblings that it might have been a political move stemming from Joe's not going to Japan this summer.
3rd edit: One new match announced for 2/24 via a front page article: Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal vs. The Briscoes. If Daniels & Sydal are still Tag Team Champions the belts will be on the line here, but this match happens either way.

Nothing really new in today's Newswire outside of the weekend's big sale, which is 20% off everything until Wednesday night, but a post on the message boards reveals possible cards for the 3/3 and 3/4 UK shows (only the matches involving Nigel McGuinness are official):

Samoa Joe vs. Nigel McGuinness (confirmed)

2 out of 3 Falls-Delirious vs. Matt Sydal

FIP Heavyweight Title-Roderick Strong (if still champion) vs. The UK's very own PAC

ROH vs. Dragon Gate Challenge-The Briscoes vs. Naruki Doi & Shingo

Colt Cabana & BJ Whitmer vs. Jimmy Jacobs & Jimmy Rave

3/4:
Samoa Joe's final ROH match

Falls Count Anywhere-BJ Whitmer vs. Jimmy Jacobs

Matt Sydal vs. PAC

Colt Cabana vs. Delirious
More announcements about Fifth Year Festival should be coming next week, with more UK-related announcements possible anytime now according to the Newswire.

Edit: ROH has now confirmed the above lineups. The remainder of the 3/4 card will be determined after the 3/3 show.

Quick FIP results from last night:
Apparently Jake Roberts was impaired/intoxicated, so he was asked to leave and cops escorted him out. Word is he wasn't invited back for tonight. People in the company were vowing they would never work with him again but either way, his match tonight against Larry Sweeney is off.
Shingo beat Hallowicked.
Allison Danger beat Lacey.
Black Market beat The YRR. One report said it was by DQ.
Ricky Vega beat Jason Moore.
Necro Butcher beat Mark Briscoe.
Mad Man Pondo and Jay Briscoe went to a no contest after Mark & Necro interfered.
Erick Stevens beat Gran Akuma, Jigsaw, and Seth Delay in a 4-way.
FIP Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong beat Davey Richards in an I Quit match to retain the title.
Colt Cabana & Erick Stevens beat Claudio Castagnoli & Larry Sweeney.

Hahaha, he sounds very desperate to get back into WWE, and in typical DX reject fashion, he plugs WWE in other feds. FIP Title match sounded a bit crummy with 3 falls in 20 minutes for a title match.

You should be happy, it means your lizard-speaking boy gets his title shot in a couple weeks (17th, I think).

Checked out the Newswire for today, nothing you haven't heard already so I'm not going to post anything about it today. Guess everyone's still SBed out.

Delirious is getting an FIP title shot in a few weeks? Guess I didn't catch that in one of your news reports.

Today's Newswire Update:
The big Dragon Gate announcement has been made: 7 DG stars will be in action at the WM weekend shows in Detroit: CIMA, Naruki Doi, Ryo Saito, Dragon Kid, Shingo, Masaaki Mochizuki, and Susumu Yokosuka. Complete match details will be announced after Fifth Year Festival, but one night will likely feature several ROH vs. DG matches and ROH wants to do a 6-man tag match like the one from Supercard Of Honor.

Another announcement about the Detroit shows is coming tomorrow on the main page of ROH's website.

Added to 2/17 in Philly is Lacey, Jimmy Jacobs & Adam Pearce vs. Daizee Haze, Colt Cabana & BJ Whitmer in a street fight.

There are a lot of interesting rumblings and rumors spreading throughout the ROH locker room.

Things are heating up in FIP. March 10th in Crystal River will be a special night as FIP presents "The First Annual Eddie Graham Memorial Battle Of The Belts" and it will feature a one night, eight man tournament to crown the first Florida Heritage Champion. To keep in line with the "Battle Of The Belts" theme all the current FIP champions will be in the tournament to see who is the best champion. The only title on the line will be the Florida Heritage Title. Seven of the eight participants have been announced. So far the tournament features FIP Heavyweight Champion Roderick Strong, FIP Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe, Shingo, Erick Stevens, Larry Sweeney and Delirious. Check www.FullImpactPro.com for more building and ticket info.

Here is the latest updated card for 2/17:
Homicide or Jimmy Rave vs. Takeshi Morishima for the ROH World Title

Samoa Joe vs. Davey Richards in Joe's final Philly match

Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal, if still ROH World Tag Team Champions, vs. Jack Evans & Shingo for the titles

Roderick Strong vs. Delirious for the FIP Heavyweight Title

Austin Aries vs. Claudio Castagnoli

The Briscoes vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen

Adam Pearce, Jimmy Jacobs & Lacey vs. BJ Whitmer, Colt Cabana & Daizee Haze in a 6 person Street Fight

Nigel McGuinness likely in action, match TBA

Sounds like an awesome card. A bit odd to team up Pearce and Jacobs w/ Lacey. It's kind of odd, but I guess it's better than having him tag up with Albright again. Even though Albright is f'n awesome.

I didn't mention it but the Newswire said Lacey paid Pearce so it sounds like she's trying to get him into Lacey's Angels or it's storyline advancement given Cabana & Albright (old rivals) are on the other team. Almost certainly means Hagadorn's coming along too.

I also hope that they find a way to get Evans into the 6-man or one of those DG matches. He's just too awesome of a high-flyer to not include, but it would get more interesting if he & Shingo are able to get their shot at the tag titles and win them.

Ah I see. Well at least it will let Shane and him do something rather than being... Personal Man Servents.

I agree, I hope they utilize Evans well when the DG guys arrive. I'd love to see Jack get a strap in ROH one day lol. I always loved the team of Evans and Strong over Aries and Strong, so I hope Strong and Evans can get the straps one day while Aries is all bent out of shape and is a heel. He's a great heel IMO. It would give him a chance to get back into singles contention.
