Anyone else getting sick of the constant in-your-face advertising for such things as Twitter and Facebook? I could see a plug here and there, but Jesus Christ it's practically every match, in-between matches, during matches, it's always being plugged. What WWE is doing is equivalent to having your 80 year old grandmother talking about current 'hip' things and just making it really, really uncool.

Plus I find it completely ironic and hypocritical of them for being so against having things on the Internet, what with dirt sheets and spoilers, but even then for several years they were against having their performers using Twitter. Now they're all over that shit.

I also just read WWE has some of business relationship with Twitter, thus explaining the constant plugging they do.

It also turns me sour. I mean plugging their twitter names.. is borderline. Even though I don't think it would be that hard to gather them anyway with all they're doing. But seeing live tweet popups posted right before matches on the bottom corner, Cole and King going on incessantly about Cole's tweeting, JR's tweeting even, it's just.. too much.

It's come to a point where superstars would have to post their ill-willed/controversial thoughts through blogs or something if they wanna vent. It's funny to think that way cause twitter used to be the place to do just that.

Facebook I'm not bothered by so much, likely since its the lesser of two evils.

Yeah I've noticed they've done it even more since around Vengeance time as they now show a little graphic on the screen that says what is trending that is WWE related.
I don't think anyone really cares that Randy Orton is trending.

That's the one place they should be. Lots of people use twitter that watch, so it helps them find their favourite superstars. I dislike the constant plugging of it, I mean when it's something that helps a storyline, like the Miz/Truth apology stuff, then fair play. Just the constant "I'VE JUST SEEN THIS ON TWITTER" is like, fantastic man, mind commentating on the match tough? Don't get the point in telling us what is trending either, it serves 0 purpose.

I can understand and wouldn't mind the advertising of each persons Twitter username as that's genuinely for fans to make use of.

The thing that REALLY pisses me off is the constant pleading to use the various hashtags to try and get things relevant to WWE trending; I imagine the hope is they'll pull in viewers who'll see a trend relating to the show and tune in.

I agree, it's annoying. I never like stuff like that. They act like they invented Twitter. They went overboard with the entrances, though. When I see R-Truth come out and under his name it says, "@RonKillings", it is so freaking annoying.

What's more annoying now, though, is I'm the type that likes reading dirtsheets. I don't think that it's all accurate, but I do enjoy the entertainment they bring sometimes. NOW-A-DAYS, almost all the dirtsheets' news stories (at least the ones I go to) are just crap that wrestlers say on their Twitter pages. Here's an example...MY OWN example:

"Austin vs. Punk at Wrestlemania?"
CM Punk said, "id fight steveaustin at mania" on his Twitter page, to which Austin replied with, "only if cmpunk want ur ass whooped"

Freaking annoying.

- For those of you sick of the constant WWE Twitter references on television, Bryan Alvarez reports that you should "prepare to vomit" around the time of Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania. It is believed that WWE has some sort of business relationship with Twitter for the time being.

This isn't anything new.

WWF and AOL?

WWF/E when every big Wrestler had their own webpage?

Twitter is just the new form of it.

I remember that, they would usually have instead of www.twitter.com/IAmJericho they would have something like www.ChrisJericho.com in the entrances all the time.
