I'm wondering what you guys thought were the best WWII books out there? I love the war and kind of recently felt like reading about it again. I did read Fall of the Third Reich a long time ago and wanted to get more in to the warr.

Darknet - You looking for fiction or nonfiction? For the former, I do remember reading Under a War Torn Sky back in junior high and loved it. No others really come to mind (never read a lot, but dabbled a little into most genres at some point, haha).

Nonfiction. History! WWII doesn't need nonfiction books. It's such a rich war with so many different sides and tales that straight up wouldn't need it.

Not to be offensive, but look for something that was not written or published in the US. I've found non-US World War II History texts to be more...accurate.

There was a set of texts written right when the war was happening. One volume was produced for every year. A couple years ago my family had located a set in Australia and gave them to my grandparents because my grandfather's in the first book. Turns out my great uncle was also in it. I can't recall what the volumes were called though, but they were difficult to find.

Darknet, if you're looking for a lesser known event of WWII I would definitely check out this book when you get the chance. I have not read it yet, but I've heard a lot of positive things and it's currently on my list of books to read. It's a more specific account of what happened during the war rather than a general survey.
