Going by the clips in the album trailer (below), they've definitely gone for more rock than electro. YAY!

The teasing bastards.

Genuinely excited. The teaser reveals so little I don't know how excited to be but it reveals enough to know I should have a indie rock record on my hands rather than some bullshit attempt at an electronic- god knows what it was...

Here's to hoping...

Loved that album trailer! Probably the second last album of the year (Baroness is the other) that I'm looking forward to.

Oh hey, look who it is playing their first proper UK show in two and a half years:

I missed the first 10 minutes (who comes on stage at 8.30?) so there were apparently two songs from the new album i missed but the five or six i did hear sounded great, particularly 'real talk' and 'team-a'. No need to fear it being an electro-pop album either, very guitar-based. They did a cool We Found Love/Flux mashup though, haha, and threw some classics in there as well.

The lights were fantastic.

I'm sure there are youtube videos up already for you curious folk.

I read this and had to find it on Youtube haha. The start of We Found Love sounded really good! That song is awesome anyway so would love to hear a full cover version from them.
Hopefully getting tickets for their Bloctober tour tomorrow

Don't feel too bad Toby. It seems that Kele hates Ireland too.

...but they're from London!

I hope a surprise London show is announced; preferably two so that there's more chance of getting a ticket ¬¬

Nah, Toby, it was up in Glasgow a few days before the koko show. Think they played Manchester in between as well.

Very surprised there isn't a London date announced for October (annoyed too seeing as that's where i'll be by then). I imagine they'll play there at some point though, surely.

Right lads! Week 3 of the current nominations goes to Bloc Party. I know when an artist is featured, people seem to be afraid to post in the thread, but please do. Whether it's anticipation for the new album, gig, favourite tracks/album/live performances, post up!

20th of August? That's not far away at all! The only surprise for me is that a single hasn't come out yet.

That's more than a month away man I'm going to get paid twice before then which makes it feel like forever away but I suppose that means more money to pick up the album and start my Vinyl collection...

Gives you a good reason to revisit A Weekend in the City over and over again until then!

I'd say there'll be a single before next Sunday.
