funny no one did a thread for these guys.
papa roach is consisted of (left to right) jerry horton(guitar vocals),dave buckner(drums vocals), jacoby shaddix/ coby dick(lead vocals), and tobin esperance(bass vocals).
the band all met up in high school, and they all came from relitively similar roads. buckner, esperance, and horton all taken interest into playing metallica or some sort of heavy metal, and the tie was placed by coby dick himself, I guess. they don't really have any sort of genre that they themselves would classify themselves under. some say they are rap/metal, others say they are industrial. either way, they just go with the flow. in 1993, they got their first gig, and the judge of the contest said,"don't quit your day jobs". how wrong he was!
with the release of the smash hit album "infest" is 2000, the band improved and gained recognization by leaps and bounds. the famous dead roach logo came from coby dick. he didn't want the band to be known as a shitty pot smoking band, but a "soldier/warrior band". like the roach, these guys were never truly wiped out, and they came back stronger than ever. they do however consider their music about real life problems, like drinking(binge) suicide(last resort) or broken homes(broken home). lovehatetragedy was the follow up album to infest, and was not as popular, but came close. then the band dissappeared for a few years without so much as a trace. them BOOM! out pops their new album "getting away with murder" released aug.31. the last good thing we had to look foreward to!
what does the future hold for PR? I don't know, but i hope they don't stop pumpin out crazy mutha fookin head banging tunes!

They're okay. The only songs I like by them are "She Loves Me Not" and "Getting Away With Murder". They have a new singer? I thought it was the same person, I just thought he looked a little different. Both the previous and new lead singer look the same...

I've gone from likeing to hating them to liking them again. They're okay I don't love them or anything. I like most of Infest (which I used to have). They try to hard to make the song Getting away with Murder a single. But I think Love Hate Tragedy was horrible in my opinion.

I love them, this new album is their best so far IMO.
I thought they changed him but figured he renamed himself as Coby Dick could be a nickname from JaCOBY ShadDIX.
Ahh well he looks and sounds better IMO.

Ohhh ok, At first when i read the thing about a new lead singer i was about to say theres no way cause in "getting away with murder" music video it still has the same one but anywayz, their a really great band and i cant wait for the new cd

yeah, I seen that already. in fact, if you search, there is about 2-4 if not more(bang, rhyme masta slop is in da house) Papa roach threads. they got closed or abandoned, because b3nd3r is more of a hard ass when it comes to creating new threads. he insists on a background for each new thread of a band, which is cool since there are lots of newbies to music out there who want to know about who the members of a band are.
as you can see, my thread got indexed, because I did my homework.

Not all threads need a closure; Cleric should have followed the rules more closely. If I felt bl3nd3r wasn't suitable in handeling this forum, I'd never have resigned. If you don't want your threads closed, then sugar-coat them bitches with every detail, discography, band-history you can muster.
Anyways, it's pretty sad I didn't even know they had a new album out when the WWE used their new single for one of their recent PPVs. And what makes it worse is they always give credit to the band for providing them with the theme song during RAW / SmackDown! when they run promos for the PPV.
