Subject: Phantasy Star Online is SOOOOOOO CONFUSING!!!!!!!!

I can't find my way in this game. I start off in some ship and can transmit to other ships (other servers I guess). When I make a team, I can finally accomplish missions. But when I die I lose my weapon and I can't get it back any way I try, and I have no meseta to buy a new one. It's been driving me crazy since the only way I can get it back is to make a new character, and when I do i'm on the ship again and can't accomplish missions until I make another team. I made around 10 teams already. PLEASE, can ANYONE tell me if there's an easier way to do ANY of the things I mentioned?
Oh and another thing. In offline mode, when i restart the game, it BRINGS ME BACK TO THE LVL 1!!! W T F!!!!!

here it is...
When you die you need to go to Equip then reequip your wepon, to get some more quest you need to beat the dreagon or the lizrad thing, after you complete all the quests. To save your character you have to push Start, then go to Quit Game. It will save there. HAVE FUN!!!
