My favourite racer was definantly Koopa Troopa, as he was one of the fastest and was cool, and i always won with him.

Mario was my favourite, he had awesome handling and pretty decent speed. Koopa Troopa was good, but sometimes he would spin out if he was bumped by the bigger guys.

For whatever reason, I have never really liked or used Mario in a Mario Kart game. The closest came in DD, but I don't really use him.

Most people agree that Koopa Troopa and Toad were the best out of the bunch. They had the best control, and especially in tracks like rainbow road, having good control was crucial.
I myself favoured Koopa Troopa. I beat the game with that little dude!
Too bad he was left out of the sequel...

Not sure if he is the same guy, but in Double Dash, you can be Koopa and Paratroopa. The use green and red shells as their specials. But Koopa does look different.

My favourite racer had to be Kooper Trooper - he was simply awesome!! I used to like making him small on the character select screen as it made him look even cooler!!

Kooper Trooper was like Toad -- Good turning, but not too fast -- but I still prefer Toad a little more better than Kooper, perhaps it is because I always use Toad in the other Mario Kart's.

Luigi is a little more fast than Mario, so I prefer Luigi more than Mario, but my fav is still Toad because of it's excellent turning.Luigi comes close, followed by Mario and Koopa Troopa.

this is because Mario has better steering then luigi, Luigi's steering is shocking.

i dont believe what i am heariong.
koopa and mushroom are the slowest characters.
for confirmation check out the world records.
it will show you that the fastest characters are bowser and donkey kong junior.
they are slow to start off with but when you are good like me at using them they are clearly the fastest.
so my favourite character is donkey kong jr

Princess Toadstool is my fav! I like her acceleration and I've always liked playing as Princess Toadstool. Yoshi would be my second choice as he's the same in driving style.

I like Toad and Yoshi, both are fast, and are just classic characters lol.
