They certainly are.

Could this be the next chapter in the TP forum?

Perhaps.

I'm gonna screw with photoshop for a bit, and hope something decent falls out.

As Dragon Cloud would put it, a new era of gayness.

Schmeh, I think we might need to adapt to our new surroundings a bit more to enjoy it. Although I kinda liked the uber-strictness of our mature gang. >.>

Great move.

Agreed.

When did guests get posting privileges back anyway? Nothing good has ever come from a guest.

Guests are a part of neoseeker. I don't think it's fair to ban all guests from posting because a few people abused their posting rights. In a lot of circumstances no guests = no new members. I was a guest once.

If they want to post so damn badly they can take five minutes to register. There are no reasons not to.

This has nothing to do with guests.

Awesome.

I'd actually suggest we put the GD on a hiatus a little bit more than a few days, though. Right now, members are viewing it as an excuse to spam, and it's going to take a while before that fact seeps in.

I dunno...guests can be potential members, but they're none too common in the vast majority of them.

Double-edged sword. =P

Posting as a guest allows you to post anything, anytime, anywhere, and under any name in a forum. Personally i think anyone truly interested in posting should take the time to sign up, otherwise, stick with reading.

In all honesty, banning the GD and saying it is just being used by members as an excuse to spam is madddd hypocritical. I can't remember the last time it was actually constructive and ontopic; hell, it's off topic by name. By the context of an "off topic GD", anything within should be just constructive and actual human discussion. So basically it's a place where members can basically just chill out and bullshit and get to know eachother better. That's what it's always been; all of the "regulars" in the forum have been doing the same kind of stuff that went down in Shine On You Crazy Triforce (just had to say that name, best ever ) for years now, yet all of a sudden it's a problem now that there's a ton of new members doing it to. That's not a problem, it's growth; and as long as it doesn't damage the forum outside of the GD (i.e.: members flaming and spamming the crap out of actual on topic discussions) then there's no harm done. There's nothing wrong with the GDs the way they are now, and closing it for a few days will do nothing good. An offtopic discussion will just be the same way it always was, and an ontopic discussion will just die and sink to page 100 within a week.

It really wouldn't.

I think the main problem with recent GDs is that people are ignoring the fact that the following rule has two separate parts:

quote
No one-worded or one-liner posts that add nothing to the conversation.
I can't remember the last time there was more than a couple of posts of discussion in that thread. Like Fifth said, we used it to get to know each other better because we talked to each other, at the moment people are just talking to no one in particular and it is really suffocating the flow of discussion.
