I believe that I can shed some light on this long and sought mystery that has taken us along for so many years, it may perhaps disapoint a lot of you, it is however new and vital information.

First and formost, although I'm a new poster, I have been following the Epsilon mystery on Neoseeker for as long as 5 years now, I remember cleary as breakthroughs in information such as the 'Preacher in the desert', the famous jblend posts and many other great breakthroughs in information have come about, I decieded however, to take it upon myself to look into the before mentioned jblend.
As everyone here had their hands full, most especially Randome, trying to uncover further information within the game of San Andreas, such as the red truck, backpackers, cult farms, brochures and fax numbers, I wanted to trace this mystery back to its very roots, and to start where it all began with jblend and his strange riddled clues that he gave us all a long time ago.

The following information I am about to post is from my research that I have come up with over time, I will break this down into parts so as to make things more clear to understand. My main source of information was jblend's blogspot page which he often used, upon reading each post that he ever wrote over the duration of 9 years, we learn a lot about the orchestrator of this mystery.

So just who is jblend.
Jeffrey Blend, sometimes noted as Jamie, is a 39 year old, literature nut from Louisiana, USA. He has a passion for books and novels and used to spend time writing on his blogspot page that he used as a diary to post about events in his life. He enjoys media, and in the past has done small public service announcements for the town that he lived in.
His blogspot page dates back to as early as April 2000, 4 years before the release of GTA: San Andreas.
He firstly worked as a librarian, in this time he came to read a lot of books and was therefore inspired to write some of his blogspot entries in the metaphorical style just like in the books that he read. We can begin to see his love for long, well structured, literacy and great punctuality in his posts as early as December 2000.
He often uses metaphors when talking about the simplest of things.
I seemed to notice that he never directly gives the names of his jobs, education or places that he visits. He would continue writing on his blogspot each month about his interests, typically books.

The Epsilon hunt begins.
On August 28th 2004, 2 months before the release of GTA: San Andreas, jblend posted what single handily caused one of the, if not greatest myths of all time in video game history. The small yet confusing text containing the words spoken by Cris Formage was ignored firstly, until December 2004, 2 months after the games release, and the Epsilon hunt had officially begun, with Neoseeker resident Verdant Abyss starting an Eplsilon exploration team in 2006.
jblend for some reason did not post again on his blogspot regarding the epsilon mystery, he did however continue posting about his private life and occasionally used the word 'Kifflom' in his posts.
jblend however, would only reply to a few emails that he received from us explorers, yet each reply was a riddle containing metaphors and vague references to San Andreas. There were not many emails that had a reply from jblend, the few that did were circling around the internet, it wasn't until 2008 on Neoseeker that someone posted these riddled responses from jblend. (we can see them here

After much research and looking into these clues, I found the information that jblend had provided us were mostly either quotes or characters from various books and novels that he had read, such as when he wrote
"The day the trees opened up. Sometimes the giant sand worms, Shai-halud, will come up during the sandstorms. Did you see Shai-halud? Did he attack you? Walk with an arrhythmic step in the desert."
This comes directly from a 1965 novel titled Dune. He also mentioned clearly the book titled Life of Pi.
Upon further research into his blogspot, we can find all these books and many more listed in his "book library" as his favorite books and novels.
Mostly all of the riddled clues that he had given us were extracts from the books he had read.

So, why then?
Why would jblend give us this information if it really served us no good at all? If all his clues were merely his parts from his favorite books. Did he really work for Rockstar games?
Is this the works of just one giant troll, in that case, how did he have advanced knowledge of Epsilon 2 months prior to the release of San Andreas?

The truth.
In a post jblend made on his blogspot back in late 2002, he mentioned being offered a new job working as a public relations specialist. After a quick google search we can see that a public relations specialist communicates with the public via medic on behalf of companies and organizations, their job is to spread their companies message to the public using media.
When we stop at this moment, stop and think really what jblend did, he did exactly that. The Epsilon program was the 'company message' the company being Rockstar, and he spread that message by media on behalf of Rockstar by the Epsilon website that jblend posted on his blogspot 2 months before the release of GTA: San Andreas.
In other words we can describe the work of a public relations specialist as perhaps adding fuel to the fire, and when he replied via email to the community about sand worms and vaguely mentioning backpackers and Mt. Chiliad, thats what jblend was doing exactly, fueling the fire.
In retrospect, the Epsilon program was no different really than say, Darius Fontaine's inversion therapy, or even the Clukin Bell radio commercials, the only differences being jblend made one hell of a job "spreading his companies message to the public using media"

It's also interesting to note than in May 2003, jblend stopped posting on his blogspot for almost a year and would not post again until April 2004 and upon returning, he gave no information as to where he had been. This missing space in time would also be the period in which GTA: San Andreas was being produced.
jblend's job was also one of the reasons why no one could find any truth, although working on behalf of Rockstar, he may not have been an actual exployee of Rockstar, he was responsible for simply spreading the message of Epsilon that Rockstar he created, which could be why no actual Rockstar employee has spoken out about the Epsilon mystery as they most probably had no idea of it.

Where does this leave us? The Epsilon cult idea was indeed created by Rockstar games, but it remained just that, an idea, a piece of detail just like the other radio commercials we all heard a million times while playing. jblend's great job at passing this message to us from Rockstar and of course our own humans instinct, to pursue something mysterious, unknown and unfound were the reasons this mystery became what it was.

As years went on after San Andreas and GTA IV, Rockstar games have now officially acknowledged Epsilon and really how much it has effected us explorers, that we can be sure that the game designers of Rockstar for the new GTA 5 will almost certainly add something Epsilon based.

jblend's last post on his blogspot was June 2009, his current job or whereabouts are currently unknown, as is any information if he will be working on anything Epsilon related in GTA 5, or it was he is responsible for the fax reply that Randome received a few days ago. This we shall have to wait and see.

I haven't thought about jblend recently. Where did you find out about his interests and such?

I don't think he was a troll. If he didn't work for R*, then he was probably just a guy who found the Epsilon site before most people and blogged about it.

I tried to post his blogspot page in my previous post, however it wouldn't allow me to.
jblend . blogspot . com
I have been using this as my number 1 source of information over time, one can learn a lot by reading each event. It's more of a case of piecing together information.

I want, just as much as you and everyone else here to find out that he didn't work for Rockstar and that he did just happen to find this Epsilon website, but really, how does someone just find this website 2 months before the release of San Andreas by mistake.
It's not something you happen to just stumble across or find. In each of his posts on his blogspot, jblend gave no mention, not even once that he played video games, books were his life.

Although we do not have any proof that clearly states jblend saying "I worked for Rockstar" we do have a few very big coincidences that when you put them together really looks obvious and clear.
His new job as a public relations specialist, a years absence from 2003 till 2004 the years in which San Andreas was being produced, upon returning posting the Epsilon website 2 months before the games release and from then on fueling his companies product.

So Rockstar's sudden acknowledgement could point to Epsilon's return? It would make sense because when GTA IV came out Epsilon was not mentioned by Rockstar and was only mentioned once or twice in the actual game. But with GTA V (which will take place in Los Santos) we have an Epsilon Twitter, updates and responses from the website, and even merchandise. I think years of Epsilon hunting have finally paid off.

I believe so, Rockstar had not acknowledged Epsilon in the past because honestly I don''t think they even knew themselves about the mystery and the hunting we all did, we were the minority.

As I mentioned in my previous posts, should jblend have been connected to Rockstar (which looks very clear that he was) he was simply responsible for getting the message of Epsilon out to us, I doubt jblend even made the website, I believe he was just the public specialist who passed the message of Epsilon to the community, his part was nothing major to Rockstar's main team of game designers, therefore Rockstar had no idea of jblends work nor the extent of chaos jblend caused with his own information.

As you said EpsilonFreak, I think all those years have indeed finally paid off, I am almost certain we will be able to find something big related to Epsilon in GTA 5.
We are the majority now.

I hope Epsilon isn't reduced to some little side mission, I hope it's an actual mystery, a complex puzzle that we have to put together. I wouldn't want anything else.

I don't think it will be in the form of a side mission, I sure hope not anyway.
Instead I think it will be an event that only appears at a certain time of day, perhaps even the actual day itself may differ.

I'd think Rockstar would carry on this puzzle from where they first started it with the red truck and cane that we've all gone over so many times.
For those who don't have the "Travel through the dawn.." famous message drilled in our head by now already, I suggest that we refresh our memory so we are one step ahead before GTA 5 launches.
Rockstar will work with what they've done already, perhaps there is something Cris Formage mentioned on the radio interview that we could have over looked as it wasn't relevant to San Andreas, but maybe now in GTA 5 it will have more of a meaning.

I'm going to re-read the Cris Formage interview and relate it to any GTA 5 information that we currently know at the moment.
