TEAM NEWS:
  • Parmar line up his first Bromley side with assistant managers, Nathan Hancox and Alessandro Nesta beside him on the touchline. With two former defenders you can expect a solid back line from Bromley.
  • Potts starts at right back and Massey at defensive midfield are questionable calls.
  • Recently promoted, Go Ahead Eagles, will look to get a winning start to their pre season but playing Bromley will be tricky for the Eredivisie side.

MATCH REPORT:

KICK OFF: Bromley are in white shirts, black shorts and black socks with the Eagles in red shirts, red shorts and yellow socks.

3' - Bromley have kept near enough all the possession so far and their build up play has been good. Keevil plays it to Collins who tricks past two before his powerful shot towards the near post is punched wide by the goalkeeper.

14' - Bromley once again challenge the Eagles as Ken Bates plays a great through ball into the box to Keevil who turns behind the defender superbly and tries to pick out the near post, keeper tips wide to his left again. Bromley are doing very well but the keeper has been excellent.

25' - GOAL! It has been coming and it is Benjamin Keevil who gets the goal. It started with Holmes who double-touches past a challenge on the left and plays it to Collins who has dropped back, the forward skips past a challenge and plays a lovely through ball to Keevil who dummies round the keeper and slots the ball into the empty net. Excellent awareness from the young winger to make the chance easy for himself.

30' - They've almost extended their lead once again as Collins plays a one-two with Holmes to get behind the defence but the forwards left foot shot from a tight angle hits the outside of the near post and goes out for a goal kick. Collins could have chipped the ball to the back post where Keevil was unmarked but the forward opted to take the shot himself.

36' - Go Ahead Eagles break for the first time in this game but Kolder is closed down quickly by the quickness of Morris and Curbishley and Kolder's weak shot from 20m is straight at Robertson who makes a routine save.

42' - Collins holds the ball up and picks out Holmes on the left and the tall winger has a lot of space on that left wing and his low ball in is touched towards goal by Keiran Fehmi but the midfielder doesn't get enough on it and it goes wide of the near post.

HALF TIME: It's been easy so far for Bromley as they have 61% possession in this game and look likely to extend the lead and the Eagles look bereft of confidence and it shows with a paltry 69% pass completion compared with Bromley's 85%. You can expect another goal from Bromley if they maintain this performance but something needs to change for Go Ahead if they want to actually go ahead in this game.

49' - Collins drops deep once again and plays it all the way back to Massey before making a driving run forward and Massey picks out Curbishley who is bombing down the left in free space and the full back clips the ball into the box where Collins leaps up but his header just goes over.

65' - The game has calmed down a lot and Bromley make two substitutions, Alighieri > Massey; Ford > Bates.

77' - Bromley are being frustrated by Go Ahead now and game is very cagey. Eagles try to break forward and Antonia tried to play Kolder through but the forward is offside.

79' - GOAL! The ball pumped into the box, from the aforementioned offside, by Curbishley and Collins misses the flick on but Keiran Fehmi ghosts in at the back post totally unmarked and flicks it with the outside of his left boot and the keeper gets a hand to it but it isn't enough to keep it out.

85' - Bromley are looking tired now in the game and they are misplacing passes and almost gift Eagles a chance from a corner but the defence remains solid to keep the Eagles at bay.

FULL TIME: The win was quite comfortable but Bromley didn't maintain their great first half performance and almost allowed the Eagles to get back into the game towards the end. They need to be better under Parmar when the season starts.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Lewis Collins - Very good performance up front, linked up with the wide players and centre midfielders very well. Collins claimed an assist and was critical in the second goal that allowed Fehmi to ghost behind the defence.

MANAGER ANALYSIS:

Very good performance guys, really well done. Solid at the back, especially if you were not in your ideal position. We were good going forward today but we need to be better to hold on to games, we almost allowed them to get a goal back near the end and we cannot afford to do that when the season stats.

There will be rotation for the next friendlies so don't worry if you didn't get a game. Everyone will have a chance to make a claim for a starting role for when the season starts.

be more of a team player.

I play with two second strikers on the wing. therefore everyone will get games. and if I want to play with a natural winger, I just change it to a wing forward.

Don't know yet. Want to give everyone a game so might play another two? Try out different player combinations to see what works. Got one noted down and so I need to write that one up but it's likely I'll do another one or two after that.

Probably start the full season at the weekend.
