I have a confession. The fact that Killer is Dead's first trailer is 100% nonsense only makes me want to play it that much more. It starts with the game's protagonist awkwardly groping a lady, his poorly rendered appendages clipping into her... I think those are legs, and ends with the dude graphically chopping off someone's head with a samurai sword. I feel like I should be a bit disgusted, maybe somewhat ashamed. Instead, now I have to preorder.
Play as an assassin executioner in what appears to be a mix of Quentin Tarantino action, film noire and Japanese ridiculousness. Fight zombie robot maniacs, take assassination contracts from a Cyborg named Brian Roses, and generally just have a good time until everything inevitably goes terribly wrong. A story of "Love and Execution," Killer is Dead wears its heart on its sleeve and will stab you if you look at it too long.
Killer is Dead is a Grasshopper Manufacture joint from Executive Producer Suda 51, which should explain, but not justify, the insanity of the game's first English trailer (already out in Japanese). In an odd turn of events Xseed Games rightfully latched onto the project and will be publishing it in North America right around the time it will be launching in Japan too. Look forward to its release this summer on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
