The Japanese Nintendo Direct has focused on Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. It hasn't revealed too much but has shown the features shown in CoroCoro. It also showed that the game is not limited to four directional grid movement. It also revealed that new dungeons will be added via free DLC with one, PokéForest, being released on the day of release. Future DLC may be paid, but it is unclear. We'll provide loads of details on launch next month with our usual coverage
Edit @ 13:30: The first DLC for the game, PokéForest, will be free until January 1st. After that, it will be 150 Yen

A tad disappointed the DLC will have to be paid for, but it should be interesting nonetheless. :3

What other things would you like as DLC?

I'd love to see side quests, kinda like how the Ranger games had downloadable side quests.

They're still unsure if DLC is gonna be paid for. That's probably something to decide at a later date. I'd be fine with it if they did tbh. If they dungeons are good then I'll be happy to fork over some money.

I hope it's free... I've never been very good about paying for that kind of thing... >_<

Wait.

I'd looove to see free downloadable dungeons or missions with special rewards. Another thing that would be cool would be the ability to download old Dungeons with updated 3D graphics. :3

I was wondering about the four directional grid movement thing myself. xD

I really do hope they decide to keep the DLC free. Whether it's a good deal or not I'd just rather not pay for things like that. ;o

Ain't nobody got the time to pay for DLC.
The first screenshot is pretty cute. And dat Golurk... I swear if my partner wakes it up I'll leave him behind.

I'm not too surprised about the DLC being paid. Nintendo has just recently stepped into this realm so it may take some work to get it right. I think they'll succeed with this game, plus I can't see it being all that expensive.

I'd pay for it.

But by the looks of it, you may have to pay:

quote
- Ivy Park is the Snivy DLC and is 3 star difficulty
- this gets you the Grass Device and costs 150 Yen
- Oshawott DLC is also 3 Star and takes you to the Ocean Beach
- this is filled with Water-types and gets you the Water device
- this also costs 150 Yen
- Pikachu DLC is Shiny Land
- it gets you the Electric Device and costs 150 Yen
- Training Mountain is a 2 star mission and costs 200 Yen
- It has you hunt for a specific seed, the Communication Seed
- Skill - Treasure DLC is four star difficulty and has you go through thedungeon using Team Skills
- get a chest to open in town
- this also costs 200 Yen

Midnight: And friends who put money on my 3DS.

It's not a whole ton of money from the sounds of it. 200 yen is around $2.50.

If I gotta pay for those dungeons, I could probably survive without them. I know it's not a whole lot but...meh.

Well I doubt it's gonna be THAT much money. My guess is it'll cost maybe a dollar or two, and for a game like this, i'll definitely be able to invest in it if they're good enough. :3

Nintendo seems to be getting pretty consistent with their DLC prices, which can be both good and bad. Always nice to see something cost less. I just worry that the additions will be too small to make any real difference.
