A Facebook update today from Namco Bandai promised fans of Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 a surprise during Wondercon 2013. CEO of CyberConnect 2 Hiroshi Matsuyama will be hosting a panel on the history of the Ultimate Ninja franchise, but he'll also have a special announcement for fans. Oddly enough, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 popped up in Steam's registry files recently. Coincidence?
Here's the full text from Namco Bandai's Facebook page describing the panel that will be held at Wondercon:
"Hiroshi Matsuyama, President and CEO of famed Japanese developer CyberConnect2 will be hosting a panel discussing the history and evolution of Namco Bandai Games’ Ultimate Ninja series. The hour-long panel will give fans a special inside look at the franchise’s past and future, a special Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 announcement and a chance to challenge Hiroshi Matsuyama at his own game!"
To the best of my knowledge the Ultimate Ninja franchise has never reached PC before, so an announcement could be quite surprising if the rumor in fact does turn out to be true. The original Ultimate Ninja Storm was PlayStation 3 exclusive, its sequel and Generations came to both PS3 and Xbox 360, now perhaps the franchise will come to PC. Well, why not?
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 was released for consoles on March 5 with the largest roster for the franchise to-date. Wondercon will begin on March 29, so hopefully, if the rumors prove true, we'll be hearing about a PC release within the next month or two.
