After being very PRO fifa for many years, after playing this new one since release i must say i absolutely *** dispise this game. For the below reasons.

1) The first touch mechanic.

This is terrible. 20% of the touches the players come out with on this game are beyond a joke. If the player did this in the premier league on a weekly basis they would never play again. I think they have tried to make it far to 'realistic' and gone to far, to the stage its now unrealistic because some players can't control a pass that isn't weighted to perfection. Hell i say some players ive even noticed inesta make several bad touchs. I don't think its cause im a bad player because I went to the top league on fifa12 within weeks of release. (Initally this was quite a feat but then after a few months the standard of div1 dropped alot)

2) Fouls.

The referee seems very inconsitent and they still haven't sorted out the last man = a red card mechanic.

3) Tugging

This encourages foul play, not to mention its extremely effective so your at a big disadvantage not to use it. If a player goes through 1v1 just tug him, if its a fast player, just tug him. Sometimes its not even a foul and you can't get more than a yellow for this, even if your last man. (ive tried)

4) Goalkeepers.

The goalkeeper problem is the same on FIFA12. A goalkeeper with good reactions is extermely tough to beat regardless of every other ability.

5) AI

They claim to have made the AI attack runs much better and more intelligent. Tbh i think they have just made the defending AI worse. They just dont follow there man anymore they let him run free thus granting the attacker lots of space. This would be fine if we were given enough control to control all 4 defends but since we can only control 2 at at time its ridculous that the 2 you can't control just leave there man to run through. Balls forward (if played well) just drop easily to the attacker (granted they will probably shin it away) without a defend being within 5 yards or pressing.

6) Goal quality

Although ive seen and scored some very nice goals on this game. I think there are far to many 'scrappy' goals where its been like pinball between the attackers and defenders, and you may aswell flip a coin to decide who comes out with it.

Granted its the same for BOTH teams, but for me i just don't enjoy the changes whatsoever.

Rating 5/10 Good : graphics/finish/sound/physics engine. Bad: Gameplay/connection

I think im going to move back to PES this year, which i never thought i would ever be saying again. Like i say - im was definitely a fifa fan over pes by a long way before this game

Same here and I'm still trying to enjoy this game. Trying to play about with the sliders as I usually play career mode! But professional is too easy and world class seems very boring! The goal keepers are just ridiculously good. What's the point in them taking away the effectiveness if finesse shot?!
Like you, pro evo gameplay interests me more than fifa this year BUT.... THERE'S JUST TOO MUCH MISSING FROM PES! So am gona work at this game.

The main problem again is the bugs.

The first touch system requires practice, use LT to keep it simple and work at the more tricky things. Just like the difficulty, the more you play the better you become. On 12 I played as an Irish team on legendary against top teams to improve, I got beat most times but each time I got closer.

The fact of the matter is the bugs mean people are unable to actually play the game (if like me you mainly play career mode) which is a joke considering the money EA have to make a game and also what they charge us for it.

It's not that I'm bad at this game, but 80/85% of games I play in career mode are complete con jobs. Some of the things the CPU players are physically able to pull off is totally unrealistic, the impact engine is biased in the CPU's favour and causes my players to fall to ground after a slight breeze hits them. The ratings of the players are completely redundant as lower league players and players I know full well are reasonably slow in real life are still able to keep up with the likes of Gareth bale and other quick wingers. The CPU goalie is ALWAYS much better than yours and every time the CPU team aimlessly smash the ball up field there is ALWAYS a player conveniently places to retrieve it with a thousand acres of space to spare because my midfield is nowhere to be seen. The amount of transfers that don't happen in the game takes away the realism of a real transfer window and getting bugged by every manager-less country in the world gets old after about 2 seconds.

Although he does sound like he's moaning alot, he does have a point. I think EA have tried too hard to make this game realistic. So much that the game is becoming unrealistic. When you take a touch with a 70 rated player or lower, it usually goes too far, or into touch. EA have to remember that low rated players are still professionals too. A bad touch from any player is nowhere near as consistent as it is in FIFA 13 in any match, and if it is, its probably not a professional match.
Secondly, the players' ratings are way too low, this means that there is not much variety in the teams you play. This affects Ultimate Team too. In FIFA 12 there were many different types of teams you could come up against, there were pacey teams, strong teams, tall teams, longshot teams, 5* skill teams, etc. Now in FIFA 13 you rarely come up against skill teams(due to most skillers being downgraded) and most teams consist of pacey forwards, good passers in the mid, and play the same Tika Taka football every single time.
Lastly, there have been many modes that have been taken off FIFA 13 from FIFA 12 that most fans loved.
1. Offline Virtual Pros

I used to love the days where I could just take a break and play around in the Arena with my Virtual Pro, and I'm sure many others do too. It was fun and helped take your mind off competitive matches.

2. Single Player Matches(Ultimate Team)

Same reason as before, its a great way to take your mind of competitive matches and enjoy the freedom of friendly matches(well.... sort of).

I hate how they script Offline Career Modes. Sometimes I quick sim a match against lower opp and I lose, then I restart the game so I can re play the game and I still lose, my players become sluggish and can't defend for jack. Its annoying. Also hate it why the board will sell your best player without your permission because of a transfer request by the player. Its ridiculous, the United board sold my best player on the final day and I couldn't get any good strikers so I was left with Welbeck and King for the remainder of the season. No BIG club would EVER sell their best player.

Ok so I've been having problems with just about everything there is to have problems with when it comes to the actual matches.
Offline: they clearly screwed up when designing this. For whatever reason your keeper always plays like absolute shit. Not to mention that on defense you have all your players just watching the ball and doing nothing to help. The computers can take shots from half field and score. The speed is messed up. I've had tons of CBs beat me on a break away. Like slow CBs with like 60 pace against like Messi or Ronaldo who have over 90. Also the computer defense is impossible to get through without a long ass through ball because they have like 8 players back while you have 3.
Online: I've been having problems with the refs. I will see the linesman flag for offsides, but then the field ref won't blow the whistle. This has happened numerous times to me, and many times it has resulted in a goal. Also the cards. There are refs that just run in giving red cards just because it was close to the box or slightly mistimed. And I believe them to be giving some sort of advantage in live matches. Once I played with my super fast team against a team with one fast player. Left Nd right his guys would sprint right past me. Many of the offline problems still carry on to ME in online matches. So it is clearly favoring the other player.

Couldn't have said it better myself there buddy. The amount of random, awful touches from a pass that seem like nothing but then lead to giving the CPU possession and seconds later, a goal, is ridiculous. I'd like to say I won't be heading for FIFA 14 due to the poor standards of the current game but unfortunately, I probably will.

I hear in FIFA 14 they're improving defensive AI. And you can also re-tackle if you missed a tackle. That really make things better
