first you meet the queen at the castle and the princess
is there too, then you escort the princess through the
valley (VERY TOUGH) then battle the trunkle because the
dumb princess went and woke it up!

TIP:save before battling trunkle, i didnt save so i battled
it for 3 hours then turned my gameboy off then i
rememberred that i didnt save my game!

TIP 2:get your attack very high, i didnt so i did 1 dammage
each turn.

When those Gritty Goombas took Peach into the yellow pipe and after Toadsworth (that old toad guy) left, you should've followed Peach into the yellow pipe and rescued her.

After that, you're supposed to escort her across the valley and then Trunkle will be woken up.

If you haven't followed my steps, Trunkle will be asleep.

Btw when you're fighting Trunkle, you can do it the easy way or the hard way.

He has two attacks so far, rolling his arms into balls at you and vaccuming a bunch of items trying to plummet them into you and then into his mouth. Once he's done vaccuming the items, he heals himself a certain amount of health points (I forget specifically how much).

When he rolls his arms into balls at you, notice which arms he uses. If he uses his right arm (but the left arm in your point of view), he's aiming for Mario if it rolls horizontally and he's aiming for Luigi if it rolls vertically. It's the exact opposite when he uses his left hand, though (which is his right hand in your point of view). Remember, every enemy has a hint in them. It's easy to hammer and counterattack Trunkle's arm balls if you get the right timing.

When he vaccums the items, here's the technique you're supposed to do: Jump the Gritty Goombas and green mushrooms (because they're poisonous, btw make sure you have some refreshing herbs in your items list) while trying to catch the white mushrooms which heal Mario and Luigi 5 health points each depending on who catches them. You can't stop Trunkle from healing himself at the end, though. If you can hurt him more than he can heal himself, then he'll die eventually.

Those are the techniques how to defend yourself but here's how to defeat Trunkle the easy way:

His head is 60 health points and when he does the vaccuming attack, he only heals his body and NOT his head so don't worry.

Trunkle's head is strong against jump attacks so only do Chopper Bros. and Knockback Bros. at his head to finish him off a lot quicker (in around three or four turns). After that, he's toast. See? Piece' o cake.

Although if you defeat Trunkle the hard way, you'll get more items. The sad thing about defeating Trunkle the hard way is that it may take around a half an hour even with decent gear and badges equipped and if Mario and Luigi are at Level 30 or 31.

Here's how to beat him the hard way (aka by beating up his body instead of his head):

His body has 110 health points and he can heal himself by using the vaccuming attack which makes it a tiny bit trickier. I recommend you use Bros. attacks on him to do more damage (and it doesn't matter which Bros. attacks you use).

Once Trunkle's body looses all 110 health points, Trunkle will split into four Mini-Trunkles (lol).

You'll notice that one of them opens its mouth revealing a nugget and then quickly closes its mouth right after. Then the Mini-Trunkles will jump around in different patterns trying to make you loose track of which Mini-Trunkle had the nugget so it's important to keep track. The Mini-Trunkle with the nugget is the real Trunkle so your goal is to bash that Mini-Trunkle while the other Mini-Trunkles dissolve as soon as you hurt them even once.

The Mini-Trunkle with the nugget has 50 health points and if you don't finish him off in time, the other Mini-Trunkles will all come back (if you made them dissolve) and then they'll all form into the big original Trunkle again with his body fully at 110 health points once again while you'll have to repeat your steps all over. So don't spend too much time with those Mini-Trunkles!

The Mini-Trunkles have two different attacks, they can roll into little balls at Mario and Luigi (it's pretty obvious to figure out who they're aiming for each time they roll into either Mario or Luigi so you shouldn't have too much trouble jumping and dodging or counterattacking them).

Their other attack is to tunnel through the sand and pop up back and forth between Mario and Luigi so hammer them at the right time which should be pretty easy once you get the hang of it.

Every now and then, those Mini-Trunkles will switch places so keep track of the Mini-Trunkle with the nugget. If you defeat it, then the battle will be over and you'll get a better reward than fighting Trunkle the easy way.

Btw, if you do advanced Swing Bros. at Trunkle's body to get the Lucky Bros. badge.

If you want more help, look at a walkthrough.

And use good badges and gear. Hope all that helped!

I never fought the Min-Trunkles. After hitting his head a lot he just died.
