So far I've found a use for every character in the game.

Auron is useless by the time you get him. Kimahri is more than strong enough to replace him by the time you get Auron.

Am I smoking crack, or is he indeed the most worthless character in Final Fantasy X?

No.
Auron's bad-ass.
Kimahri is just big.

No, by the time Auron is permanantly use-able Kimahri can be more than strong enough to be a permanant replacement. Plus Blue Magic/Ronso rage > Bushido.

true, if you've gone that way.

Blue Magic>Bushido, but I was training Wakka>Kihmari.

Auron is the best, kimahri is the most useless except for overdrive, auron has an easily obtainable celestial and gets high strength and hp quickly, all i advise is after doing his and wakkas grids take him down tidus's for some speed and evasion etc.

Well, banishing blade is quite useful, as it inflicts all 4 breaks as well.

But I haven't really used Kimahri much anyway.

Auron is no where near the best. Max everyone's stats apart from Str, give them all celestials at Max HP/MP and Auron'll deal one of the lowest

Kimahri is best in a normal game, since he is the most versatile

Celestials do not affect character's usefulness.

People, get off it, the point of the sphere grid was to give every character an equal way of leveling up.

The only differences are weapons, armour and overdrives.

Only actual differences are Celestial abilities and OverDrives actually

Auron doesn't become worthless until you level up Kimahri, but then Kimahri owns everyone anyway. ;D

I agree that Auron isn't all that special. His accuracy starts out at 3 and has no accuracy enhancements. My Auron only has 164 accuracy.

The only reason he does less is if he is at full HP.

Unless you are over-training, then Auron is much more useful by the time you get him. My last use of Kimahri on most of my earlier files was in the Bikanel Desert where I would use Kimahri/Tidus, Rikku, and Auron.

I would say vast majority of people think Auron > Kimahri. I would also say, that a vast majority of people probably used Auron a hell of a lot more than Kimahri. I can't speak for everyone, but everyone I talk to feels that way.

I don't think you can say that his celestial allows him to deal the lowest. I am pretty sure he is the only character that deals more damage when he is weaker. In MOST hard battles you won't be at max hp the entire fight. Thus, making all the characters who have celestials that weaken with lower hp hit lower than Auron who is only getting stronger as his hp gets lower. Not to mention it only takes about 500 damage for my Auron to hit 99999 on anything regardless of whether the monster has piercing armor or high defense.

If you choose Advanced grid, then the only difference is the overdrives, celestials and names. Choose it and make Auron a white Mage, Wakka a thief, or even make Yuna a bad-ass offensive warrior. It's your choice.
Whoever you want to be strong, take them down auron's path. Anyway, it's a matter of opinion.

Try that without 255 strength

Also, celestials IGNORE DEFENCE
