Nah, I don't have an Internet access point that's compatible with my DS.

Wait... Would somebody mind explaining to me what exactly a shiny Pokemon is? I haven't played entirely through a game since Ruby, and I don't believe I've come across anything mentioning shiny Pokemon in Black 2 yet.

Every Pokmon has an alternate colouration which is called its "shiny".
Their alternate colours can be a drastic change such as light blue Mew instead of pink, or a small change such as a slightly darker brown Bouffalant.
They're very rare to encounter randomly, you have a 1/8192 in the wild. However, if you use the Masuda Method of breeding, that is you breed two Pokemon from different language games, then the shiny hatch rate of the egg changes to 1/1366.

Is there anything special about their stats?

Nah. It's more like a collector thing because of how rare they are.

I believe in Generation II shinies had slightly higher stats, but I think they scrapped that when they changed how stats worked in Gen III.

Well that's disappointing.

Is there a site where I could see some shiny Pokemon examples from the newest games? If I'm going to be hoping for anything I want to be in an area with some neat looking species. Black 2, btw.

Serebii's B/W Pokédex

Serebii's an all-around great site for Poké-info.

Though if you want to see what shows up in a specific area, you may want to try Serebii's Pokéarth.

Let the Serebii/Bulbapedia Wars begin! x3

    Bulbapedia
Works just like a Wiki, search for the Pokemon and it will show you all about them. I prefer the layout to Serebii.

The moment I saw that the last post was made by Phi I thought she finally got a shiny

Personally I prefer Serebii because it's made entirely for the game usage and Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia filled with every inch of information about the Pokemon like manga appearences, trivia and such. Whenever I use Bulbapedia I get confused and have a hard time finding things I need in that huge page.

I love it as well. I feel like such a nerd for having Serebii as my home page for several years!

It's not becoming my home page, but I bookmarked it and Bulbapedia. They're pretty similar though, aside from the frontend.
