is this any good? I saw the review on IGN (6/5/10) so it backed me away from buying it. I'd rather here from someone who's actually played it, so is it any good?

Yeah I heard its really easy. I wish they kept in power shots though. I'm thinking about getting this since I played power tennis to death

well online you can play custom matches with your friends.

or

play standard ranked matches against people in your region.

whether or not the latter is region only is beyond me, the game just uses the word region.

oh and you can only play singles (1 on 1) on the non-friends mode.
I dont have any friends with it yet to go more in detail on that.

edit:
no its not good online

lol
40 bones is a lot to spend for a game I'm not sure of. I'll probably just wait until a deal for 3ds games online pops out or grab it off of amazon or ebay for cheaper.

It's okay, but I haven't tried the online yet.
I was leaving town when I picked it up, and I left my adapter behind at home, so I only got a few hours out of it.

The special games are okay. Super Mario Tennis (where you play auto-scrolling versions of Super Mario Bros. levels) is fun, but you can only go to level 1-4.

The other three, Ring Shot, Galaxy Rally, and Ink Showdown, are okay as well.
Ring Shot you hit the ball through rings, which grow after every hit. The smaller the ring, the more points. It was in Power Tennis.

Galaxy Rally is where you rally the ball with a Luma, but every time the ball lands on a quarter of the Court, it will disappear, just like Blooper Rally in Power Tennis.

Ink Showdown is the worst. You hit balls back over the court, but the CPU can't hit the ball, or else you get a strike. Three strikes your out. Ink Piranha Plants shoot balls of ink as well, and if you miss one it splatters over your screen, like in Mario Kart.

The Single Player is ridiculously easy until you unlock a Star Character. I haven't tried Doubles (2 V. 2) yet though.

The shop is cool, being able to customize your Mii with gear is a good idea.
I think its a slow thing to start though, as you have to unlock EVERYTHING before you have the option to buy it.

I would like to see something similar in Super Smash Brothers.

thanks pokemon cheater. I was hoping the game was going to be a lot like power tour (Gameboy) but it looks like it's not. Every review I read bashes the game but I think I'm going to still give it a shot. Seems like there's at least a couple people who would play online

lovelyfisher I going to be posting up a review for this game at some point after I get through it all. I guess it might be a little late though.

I think I'm gonna. Only problem is I'm left handed and I hate using the face buttons to move in games. I may just have to get used to holding the stylus in my right hand. Everything I've read and watched about the game seems amazing though.

I played online!
It was laggy as hell.
The first few matches were good, no lag (for me at least) and I won a few times, but after that I left because it was lagging so hard.

The difficulty is harder in doubles, but it's still lacking compared to Power Tennis.
I actually really enjoy the game, it's fun, but I don't think it will last long.
