Nintendo is never super keen on photo realism, especially in their popular franchises. It'd be higher res, but cartoonier.

I do agree with Sonic Flash though. It looks too realistic for a Nintendo game. I like the fact Nintendo dont make their games hyper realistic
It makes them more accessible imo
