Just updated the first post with the first part of the first chapter.
I know it's not much, but I will write more very soon. I had to brainstorm for a while to get a good outline going before starting this thing. I pretty much have the entire first two chapters laid out in my mind.

the story itself looks good. there are a couple of spelling errors, and i think one use of incorrect terminology, but its easy to miss anyway.

Found the spelling errors I think you were talking about. But I don't see any incorrect terminology being used anywhere. I kind of research all this before typing...

After much pondering, inspiration seeking and revisions, I have finally concocted a final batch for a good chapter following the confusing and depressing first chapter. This chapter is quite a bit shorter, though.
Maybe you'll all rethink the word 'magic' once you finish reading it.
Well I'm off to bed. (it's 1AM -.-)

With eleven minutes to spare.
The chapters will get longer and make more sense once I get the ball rolling. The beginning chapters are usually the shortest for me when I write things. Also, don't be put off if you're still confused. Just keep reading and things will make sense.
Sorry for being so slow lately haha. I've had so much going on. >.<
