FIFA 2012 is massively scripted. I played a few games tonight and conceded in the 90th minute in about 4 out of 6 games. In another I gave away two penalties without pushing a single button! The final icing on the cake before I turned my play station off was when a floated cross was somehow punched rather than caught by my goalie, falling straight to the opposition to tap into an open goal (you guessed it, in the 90th minute) - the computer had two shots, two on target and two goals. This is also a trend I have noticed, the computer will score nearly every chance they get which will be a max. Of three a game. Very realistic I'm sure....

I hate online where you go in for the tackle, win the ball, but your other player fouled him so he gets a penalty. I'm not even controlling him!
And finesse shots are too fake, I was playing my friend and he was Man City, so understandably he will score finesse shots, but every one he takes goes into the top corner even under pressure and if it was normal shot it would have no pace.
I can accept that with City, but we played with 2* teams and he done the same thing! I'm pretty sure his players had low finishing and curl stats, how can finessing a shot turn it from being a fail to top corner precision?

i'm not sure about speed though. i have had players with 90+ speed and acceleration completely outpace someone with 80+ speed and acceleration but in my current game with sheffield wednesday i have players with 80+ speed and acceleration who cannot outpace players easily with 60-70 speed and acceleration. i have won a lot of penalties with fast players and managed to beat malaga 2-0 in a friendly

I like this years Fifa overall, but it is terribly scripted. For me the older pes titles (Pes 4,5,6) are still best for solid gameplay. On Fifa there is no real difference between a league 2 game and a prem game. No real team or player individuality. No real difference between games. Games feel the same. On Fifa some things work and some things dont, its predictable. You cant score from a direct action on the harder difficulties.
I always remember playing with the defaults on the ps2 PES titles. You could create some clear chances but you would miss some sitters with the finishing of Castolo, Njorgo, Huylens etc (sorry for the spellings). But then the top strikers would be lethal given a yard of space. I always thought the older games capture team and player individuality much better. Also less predictable, more varied goals etc.
Some people seem to think Fifa is perfect but I am sure many of the old PES players can understand where I am coming from. Fifa is very enjoyable these days but I still think there is room for improvement.

I just want to add my two cents about this game.
I've been playing Fifa 12 since the end of December and this game is scripted by miles to the point where it becomes frustrating. I'm constantly conceding goals against the CPU because as soon as they get opportunities to score they put it in the back of the net. And I find it laughable how I can make tackles or blocks whilst they attack yet the ball seemingly falls back to them no matter what. The game just wants the CPU to score and it does this every single time.
And I hate how all teams regardless of what league they are in, can just pass the ball around with ease and perform tricks to get past my players to get through on goal. I don't want to witness League Two/One players performing to a Premier League standard every game. The game is massively in favour of the CPU and its boring. Now I do win a lot of games don't get me wrong, but the shit I witness in this game is rather pathetic at times. I'm surprised I haven't lost more because it seems the CPU is scripted to win every time regardless of which team i'm up against.

This game makes me sick. I'm managing Doncaster in career mode, I've just drawn my last seven games, and on each occasion I've conceded a penalty after leading. My defenders AI is awful, they randomly run out of position when marking on corners and free kicks, every tackle I make the loose ball goes to an opposition player. Every time I win the ball back the referee awards a free kick to the opposition. Every time I'm through with a one on one, the goalkeeper saves it. Yet when a player is through one on one with my goalkeeper, they score every time no matter what my defender or goalkeeper does.
Finally, finally, WHY DOES THE OPPOSITION ALWAYS MANAGE TO SCORE IN THE 90TH MINUTE????? ANSWER ME THAT EA!!!!!

quick info, gamesettings sprintspeed cpu human both 50
scenario: going on a counter with my team against cpu
i got oxlade chamberlain on the ball with acceleration 96 sprint speed 95
computer's defense is keeping up with my chamberlain, no problem so far
BUT! the defender running alongside chamberlain is tate acceleration 51 sprint speed 49....
can somebody explain me why this *bleep* is keeping up with my fastest player?

It would of been due to stregnth or stamina issues with chamberlain, he ha probably slowing down your player with stregnth.

it also wasn't stamina because chamberlain had still some left.
