I generally think Scavenger is a waste seeing as my accuracy is about 25-30% and you pick up other people's weapons.

Plus, the MK14 is an accuracy weapon with a OHK to the head. I never run out of ammo with it.
that's you, not everyone runs around pointing at peoples head's, others (like me) tend to aim for people's legs/appendages when they come around corners or stick out from behind cover or are glitched through a thin wall.

you can kill me with one shot to the head? I can kill you with 2 to your big toe.

To be fair, your probably right.

I have pretty high accuracy and I use it with a Maskterkey AND a Magnum 44 anyway. Both of those have plenty of ammo aswell. I could probably swap it out for something else, but i guess its a comfort thing. If the sh*t hits the fan I can blast away without worrying with scavenger. I have ran the MK14 out of ammo on high streaks without it, but only once or twice. I'll maybe try something else. (If i ever play this game again HAH).

I rarely pick up other peoples weapons though, most of what you find are high accuracy, low damage weapons (ACR, SCAR, MP7). Its all you ever find. Hate them. Oh how i'd love to find an AK-47, CM901 or shotgun lying around just once !

Aiming at the legs is for chumps. View kick can *bleep* off. CoD trying to be realistic don't make me laugh.

I still think it's a wasted perk. If you use 8 bullets with an MK14 to take one person down you'll probably die before you need scavenger anyway. Maybe if you have AC130 or above killstreaks equipped. Otherwise you can comfortably get 8 or 9 kills with average accuracy. If you use 5 bullets, which I think is about what people use, you have enough for 12 enemies and that's without Ext Mags.

I use
MK14
Attachments: Ext. Mags + Rapid Fire
MP9 Ext. Mags/Silencer
Blind Eye
Assassin
Marksman

You never run out of ammo.

What we are also forgetting here are situations where expending alot of ammo is useful:

- Running into guys close range, sometimes panic hipfiring and spamming away on the trigger works best with the MK14.

- Firing through cover, sometimes you are not exactly sure where the target is and have to fire a few off to get hits.

- Covering/ Suppressing fire, if a team mate is flanking an enemy i cant directly hit i'll put a mag over their heads to distract them.

- Shooting sentries, choppers, assault drones, juggs and other equipment uses a lot of rounds.

- Fun. Spamming of a whole mag of any semi-auto can be a trouser arrousing experience. BAM BAM BAM !

I'd agree that Scavenger isnt necessary sure, but it is useful and gives me the confidence to expend as much ammo as i feel i have to without holding back. I use it on most classes with the exception of snipers and some shotguns.

Mia How can you use the MK14 with the Shotgun?! When you shoot the gun normally when you have the shotgun attachment it does that annoying thing where the whole gun visually kicks, I can't stand it, and it does it with no other attachment, I love the gun and all, but for me the attachments I use by choice, and not by challenge, are pretty much Red dot and Rapid fire, can't use anything else tbh. The perks are pretty much Sleight of Hand, Quickdraw and Marksman, which is standard with like every assault rifle class I have.

^ I rarely use an MK14 without a masterkey. I havnt noticed any additional visual kick. It cant be all that pronounced. I always stick a masterkey on long range or semi auto rifles.

The masterkey itself isnt that great admitantly, but it is great fun, makes a decent backup weapon if your rifle is empty and your using RPG or stingers a secondaries and it gives you a third ammo supply if you aint using scavenger and go for big streaks. Plus lets face it, it makes for some seriously funny ownage. If i see an enemy camping who hasnt noticed me I never knife them, always switch to my masterkey :-D

I love the stupid thing, i only wish it had its own stats, rewards and even attachments. Also wish it was a tad more powerful, it is very consistent though, i can ussauly tell at a glance wither its gonna be a one or two shot kill which is more than i can say for the other pump actions.

As the OP I feel the need to explain my setup a little.

Kick - maybe not really needed but I did my own test and without kick some rounds do go flying off. For me, I don't need duel attachments and the other options aren't really even noticeable.

Scavenger Pro - start out with 140 bullets on a weapon I use mostly at range, hell yes. Plus never having to worry about running out of ammo, all gravy.

Quickdraw - the MK14 is hella slow at ADS, quickdraw is pretty much a must if you plan on winning any medium range gun fights.

Stalker - I use this as a way to aim. Instead of using the right stick to aim left and right I just strafe enemies into my sites, this also makes it harder for them to shoot me. Most importantly it allows my right hand to focus on spamming the trigger.

Rapid Fire - I shoot faster with it. Some people don't, too bad for them.

MP9 - best secondary period. Well the best secondary that doesn't make me feel like I'm being cheap (duel fmgs anyone)

So yeah I thought this class out a lot. And for me it's beastly. Sure I'd love to use marksman and assassin too... oh wait... I can with specialist.

Well, i say use whatever helps you perform best. Wither or not thats something the rest of us would personally try.

If it works for you, no-one can really tell you its a bad or ill thought out class.

Dude, trust me I use the Masterkey a decent amount having done the full 40 kills challenge on the M4, ACR, Scar, G36C, Type and MK14, and while switching to own noobs is fun (had a few final killcams where all my friends screamed as I turned on these kids while in game chat) I most certainly do not find it fun to use overall haha. (plus chucking a claymore behind them and shooting it is sooooooo much funnier, try that)

And yeah about that visible kick, I'll try it tomorrow, but I had been usnig the attachments for a while, getting to enjoy the gun, and then I put masterkey on, and something changed about the gun's look while I was firing it, I'll have another look tomorrow to find out what changed.

By the way, to anyone who hasn't yet, I would really recommend trying out Focus on the burst and semi auto weapons. When you're flinching your rounds go way off target, and with the MK14, every bullet that hits means a lot, what with the high power of the gun. The Type 95, M16 and snipers are much better imo with this tactic. Also consider that kick is not as necessary considering waiting for the sights to reset between bursts/semi auto fire is more effective than spamming you have less to worry about in terms of recoil. This set up worked well for me in Black Ops as well with the M16, with Hardened Pro, brought my M16 Black Ops kd up a bit more. Try it if you haven't!
