90% of people don't use a gun because of how it looks or sounds, or just how powerful you feel carrying it. They look at the stats and run to their silenced MP7 or Red Dot T-95.

I'm confused; your last sentence makes absolutely no sense in relation to what I said.
I agree with your first statement and am proud to be one of the people that will try different setups, and my distinctly favourite guns are those look good and sound good, as well as being at least competitive. But I think even though there has been an lmg buff, it would be dumb to say that the people using them (or saying they are in this thread) are using them purely because of any stats advantage, considering that there is still a lot to be desired for the lmg class in general.

My second statement was a satirical add on to the first. If you were going to say that people are only using lmgs because they were buffed, and that this annoys you, as it would appear (which confuses me, lmgs are overall harder to use) then should I stop using the lmgs, when there are far more stock standard, overused guns than the lmgs which are far more of a problem to the boredom this game eventually causes?

I am and forever will be an Ak-47 fan in CoD games. Naturally it's my favorite gun even if I'm not a huge fan of the way it looks in this game as opposed to Black Ops. I still use it.

Other guns/classes I use a lot?

PM-9
G36 Suppressed
USAS
UMP-45.

I agree; how the gun looks and sounds, or just something different, is a major reason why I use the setups I do. However, coming from an angle where I posted here months before the LMG buff that the L86 was my favourite gun, it annoys me that people come across like they have always loved the gun. No, because if you really did, you would have cracked the 10 kill mark months before the patch.

I wouldn't say there is a whole lot to be desired from LMGs, their use can at times be highly situational...but are still fun to use nonetheless.

It's a shame that people don't try different setups...I mean if you have a gold ACR or MP7 with the 1000 headshot title...why the hell are you still using it!? It's like Jesus H. Christ, try a different gun for once! Oh, and they are always silenced...ALWAYS. Do people care about their stats THAT much that they feel the need to use the exact same gun with the exact same attachments game after game after game after game? Congratulations, you can use a gold MP7 with a Silencer and E-Mags...are any of your other SMG's above level 5?

Interestingly enough, I have only ever seen a couple of gold T-95's. Very interesting.

I've noticed this too. I think I've come up with a theory...

In one prestige, it is easy to get 2 guns gold, and a 3rd gun to level 20ish.
I think that most people who use the Type-95 grab it as soon as they unlock it.
But then, they unlock the ACR and make a second class. So now they have a Type class and an ACR class.
And finally, they unlock the MP7, which of course becomes their third class.
The point is, since those three weapons are not far enough away from each other to get gold in between unlocks, the people who use them don't nessecarily go for gold with each weapon. I'm interested to find out what these people use from level 4 to 32... Since the Type-95 is unlocked at 32. I'm guessing the default Striker class and/or the UMP. Or, they have spent a prestige token on a Type-95/ACR/MP7.

Interesting thoughts to ponder...

Dizzywallin people spend their prestige token on either the ACR or MP7 at the first opportunity. Mostly the MP7 because of the level it's unlocked. They just gun through the entire prestige with it (no pun intended).

It's somewhat understandable if you are attempting to speedrun the prestiges, but when you are 10th (or 15th) level 80, there really is no excuse.

The one thing I'm proud of is the fact that the MP7 is my lowest level SMG. Hey, just looking at my stats, the MP7 is my SMG with the fewest number of kills. Type-95 is my second lowest-used AR...I have more kills with the M16 haha.

Personally, I don't see why people give the ACR so much shit. Sure, it has very low recoil, but its rate of fire is appalling. It's a good gun at range, but up close you will lose 9 times out of 10 if you go up against another AR. Hell, even some MP7 noobs I play with hated the gun when they used it. They just couldn't get past its shitty RoF.

K/D bro, gotta have every bit of help they need to pad that K/D, but unfortunately they're not good enough to maintain said K/D with a non easy mode weapon, so they just stick to what they know best. But yeah, pisses me off seeing people who've stopped prestiging and have a gold MP7 and still use it game in and game out.

As for the gold camo, I only ever put it on the AK, MP5 and G36c, every other weapon I just stick with the standard finish or Blue Tiger, but plenty of times I've had the Type-95 to Gold, and just to be a dick head, I put gold camo on it just to make me look even more of a dick whenever I have to bring it out in the first place, when I stop prestiging next prestige I think I will actually call my gold Type-95 class 'The Dickhead'.

Firstly, I'm not much of an L86 man myself, it's hands down one of the better lmgs, but completing the Rapid Fire challenge on it killed that gun for me. Nowadays I'm much more of an M60 kind of guy, although I don't have any of the lmgs gold (every one of them except the MG36 is level 30, and the MG is about 24 iirc?

I couldn't agree more about what you said about the 1000 headshots challenge. The only gun I have 1000 headshots with is the M4A1, and I stopped using it practically immediately after. Don't get me wrong, I have a class for it, M4 will always have a place in my heart, but I only use it when I'm in BIG trouble, but that's not really often. Shamefully enough though, I have the Type 95, MP7 and ACR all gold, although I owe the Type 95 to Infected. The MP7 is 'I am so pissed off I am going to use your setup against you' gun, but even then I don't use the silencer. For me in this game, the silencer either ruins the damage at range (cannot stand the M4 with silencer) or makes the gun sound like shite (PP90 and MP7 sound soooo much better with only Extended Mags).

There is one thing I cannot STAND about this game, and it's that through the prestige token you can unlock anything you want. There is a reason they're at that unlock level, it's because prestiging is supposed to be challenging. Look at Black Ops, first good gun (well I liked the M16, always have, but first 'statwise' good gun) was the FAMAS, and you were a quarter of the way through a prestige, now, getting to level 4 is hard, and then the next 76 levels are a breeze with your suppressed MP7, Assassin and Dead Silence, all of which you unlocked early. I am proud to say that I only ever unlocked classes and titles (and the rest on double xp, which I kind of regret, I wish I had double weapon xp for the Dragunov).

I give the ACR shit because it's the easiest Assault Rifle to use, and by far the most common (we can thank prestige tokens for that). At some point it just gets boring getting killed by ACR Suppressed (ocassionally they're also using Extended Mags, but let's not get too rash here). ACR is probably one of the only weapons that people call "overpowered" that I can stand using. MP7, bleh, Type 95, not on my life, FMG9 akimbos, 'i'm on my period, don't blame me', but the ACR o the off occasion.

I entered 8th prestige 3 days ago and I just checked my stats. These following numbers were recorded from my Primary Weapon Veteran challenges. (Meaning, the number of kills I have accumulated with each weapon since Level 1 before prestiging.)
MP7 Veteran: 6/500 kills.
Type-95 Veteran: 16/500 kills.
ACR Veteran: 3/500 kills.
The only reason I have any kills with each of these is because I have picked them up at some point after running out of ammo.

My 3 highest kill weapons are the SCAR-L, L118A (With the 1000 headshot title), and the MP5.

I don't think the ACR is overpowered, it's the ease of use. It's an "easy-mode" weapon. It has no recoil, little-to-no muzzle flash, fast-reload, and good iron sights. With the right perks and a claymore, anyone can be unstoppable.

Now, I agree with the low RoF being its down-side. You're right about the CQC statistics. But, you are forgetting one thing. What do religious ACR users have as their secondary? FMG-9's = CQC problem solved.

little-to-no muzzle flash
Okay, this bugs me, does anyone actually get obstructed by muzzle flash?? I have never ever, ever, noticed it on any gun, even guns I have been told have 'high' muzzle flash, like the PP90M1. Sure, when I'm shooting at a wall, looking for muzzle flash I see it, but in a public match, shooting an enemy, my eyes aren't on the muzzle of the gun...

Muzzle flash can be a pain in the arse when shooting at longer distances especially when using obtrusive iron sights that don't offer a clear sight picture. Not to mention the fact it can give your position away, plenty times I've only knew an enemy was about because of seeing a glow reflecting on a surrounding dark wall or something and I wasn't looking at my radar to notice the red dot.

Yeah that makes sense I guess. I find myself using Red Dots on a lot of the Assault rifles to be honest, especially the ones more adept at long ranges. The only assault rifles I prefer the iron sights on are the high damage, high recoil Ak47, CM901, and FAD. Everything else I tend to use the red dot because of the colour of the dot standing out against the dark scenery. And for the last point the second I hear gun fire my eyes go to my radar, unless I have seen an enemy's body. Something I don't understand is why some people are too thick to look at their radar haha. In private matches I walk behind one of my friends spraying, and he keeps running before I kill him haha.

Muzzle-flash is more prominent with iron-sights. The best example of obstructing muzzle-flash is the PM-9. That thing looks like fireworks are coming from the muzzle.

It probably doesn't seem like a huge factor with guns, but once you really notice it you'll understand. Here's an idea, go into a private match and set up two different M4 classes. With the first class, have no attachment on the M4. With the second, add a silencer. You will definitely see the difference in muzzle-flash.
