I think a "reboot" of the series, it needs to go back to its roots of being a survival horror, and not an action game. Being open world wont achieve this.

That's debatable. Imagine GTA but all the people and cars are instead zombies. You would avoid cities, but they could contain helpful items and supplies. It could work.

I'd have to see more of it / play it to get a better opinion but my first impression is that it wouldn't really work.

Capcom wouldn't know scary if it slapped them in the face. I'd trust the developers of Majora's Mask to make a scarier game really. Though since the game's already lost in generic shooter land, they might as well just do a whole reset, it'll come out action regardless of what they think horror is...but open world sounds interesting me really. For horror, just stick to PC horror games or a gigantic fanbased support for Keiichiro Toyama (SH/Siren creator) and his old crew return to the horror genre.

I totally agree with Seeker X. RE franchise has gone to S!@%, but it's never too late for them to restart and once and for all fix the damn controls so I can turn faster & maybe just maybe make it a First.Person.Shooter not that garbage what is 3rd. But yea remake it or it will die out like Final.Fantasy.

Given the DmC reboot...

Yeah, series is probably beyond repair since Revelations is about as scary as it gets =/

I'd say it'd be comparable to Day Z in that regard. Which really nails down survival. Just add some more horror and you've got a game.

ya they need to get back to square 1 and remember what made them great . like the RE1 remake for the GC/Wii That imo is an example of a great game made better.

No. Absolutely not.

They already rebooted the series with a more action-centred presentation. It's called Resident Evil. The Movie. And it *bleep*ing sucked.
