We're trying to expand our breadth of coverage here at Neo, but I'm entirely surprised we haven't written anything on Mars War Logs yet. This cyberpunk RPG makes me think of Mass Effect and Dragon Age, but with a sense of Fifth Element or Cowboy Bebop style. Check out this batch of screenshots, some new and some old, along with an older trailer we hadn't matched to post in December.
Mars War Logs will feature a mixture of action and stealth, with real time combat and apparently a complex crafting system to boot. Of course, there's plenty of dialogue options as well that will have direct impact on the protagonist and Mars' overall fate.
Nothing perhaps capture the allure of Mars War Logs so much as this short description of the newly released screenhots. Nerds, prepare:
"This leg of his trip leads him to Shadowlair. The capital city of Aurora--the fledgling water company that emerged quite quickly thanks to its near-endless supply of Technomants--is not as welcoming as it had been in the past. Roy's former home is now a hostile land, fallen under the control of these mysterious Technomants."
Isn't that just so wonderfully nerdy? My favorite aspect of the original Mass Effect was that feeling of visiting a completely foreign place. Shadowlair, Aurora, Technomants, these are things I can't help but wanting to know more about. The fact there is no extra detail initially provided only stirs my curiosity further.
Mars War Logs is planned for release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 via XBLA and PSN. Look for Spider Studios great looking RPG in Spring.
