On the second official day of San Diego Comic-Con (that'd be Friday), we went through the exhibit hall's gaming "corner" and its neighboring art section.
The hall, for those who are not aware, is organized with some rhyme 'n' reason. Major companies are found near the center area. To one side of that, you've got small press, vendors, web comic artists, and other indie artists, with anime retailers crammed against the far wall.
On the other side are where you'll find game companies who may not be quite as involved in the comics and TV scene, like Microsoft, Activition, Capcom, and Behemoth; these are basically companies that only have game. Next to them are the Artist Alley and illustrators.
Of course, you've got activities going on all around the convention center as well, in the surrounding Gaslamp Quarter. Disney, Syfy, SEGA, BioWare, and numerous others rent out space at nearby hotels and restaurants to host special events both public and private.
