I really like the house in Windhelm but its just so damn creepy. What with the whole quest line to get it ._.

I've only been in two of those houses, Hjerim and Breezehome.
And Breezehome is probably my favorite out of the two. It just looks so nice, inside and out. It also has a simple yet intricate lay out. I just wish my weapons rack worked in that house :[

I wish the book shelf worked in the dawnstar sanctuary. On the plus side though, if you take all the clothes from the model, they respawn :3

Gonna say i prefer the Solitude house purely because im in the area so much. I'm fond of the Riften one too. Havent bothered with any other houses yet.

If you do the butcher quest in Windhelm and get the key, does that mean the house is yours? Or do you still have to pay for it?

Proudspire Manor is the best. And most expensive. I have expensive taste.
I just love the basement with the enchantment table and alchemy table and all those lovely ingredients on the shelves (I'm going to leave them all there of course).
I just haven't got around to properly moving in... it's going to be such a hassle moving everything from Breezehome to solitude, even with fast travel via horse...
I might have to use that pack mule... what was its name again? oh yeah Lydia...

I'm saving up to have enough cash to buy that home in Solitude because all I've got right now is the unupgraded Breezehome. :/

The Solitude house isn't actually the best. The best is Hjerim as it has a lot more in it. Yes, even more than Proudspire, look at a wiki.

I would like the house in Windhelm, but you apparently have to make your way through most, if not all, of the Civil War questline to be able to buy it. I don't want to have to complete an entire questline for my house, so that disqualifies Windhelm as my future home.

BluePhoenix, you cant have done all the DB quests completely then......
I like the ones in Riften & Markarth, Proudspire is ok, but id rather get one of the other two cos theyre cheaper & easier to obtain.
