Arnold Saddles Up for Last Stand

quote
Arnold Schwarzenegger is putting his now scandal-tarnished popularity to the test by reportedly agreeing to star in the Lionsgate western Last Stand.

The action icon and former California governor had dropped out of the project when the news broke that he'd fathered a child with his maid while married to Maria Shriver, who has since filed for divorce. Now Deadline claims Schwarzenegger is recommitted to starring in the western, which previously had Liam Neeson attached to star.

Kim-ji-Woon will make his English language directing debut on Last Stand. Deadline's studio insider calls the project "an old-fashioned Western specifically designed for a 63-year-old broken-down guy with a moral decision whether Arnold decides to stand up for his town. We always needed an iconic figure for it."

Filming is expected to start in September.
lol umad Lavitz?

Commando + Western = SOLD!

It'll be nice to see Arnold back on the big screen though. I've always been a big fan of his mindless nonsense.

Well I *bleep*ing loved The Good, The Bad, and The Weird, A Bittersweet Life, and I Saw the Devil, so I will surely check this out. Very god damn excited.

Those posters can't be real? The vector one is a blatant Portal rip off.

I don't care if the movie sucks (which it probably won't because the premise looks cool and Kim-ji-Woon is a good director), I'm just glad to see Arnie's back in a starring role. Sure, the trailer doesn't exactly make it look like an "old-fashioned Western", and I don't know what's up with the sports car, but I'm looking forward to this.

So anything with stick figures in it is a Portal rip-off?

Yeah well done clowns. I made a comment when I first saw the poster as the falling man looked exactly like the portal one. I then went and relooked and it wasn't exactly as I remembered. Had nothing to do with it being a stick figure and everything about the line style, shape and positioning. Of course you lot aren't capable of noticing that and take the easy, borderline nonsensical route of boiling it down to something it clearly never was. Clever kids.

Arnold looked old as balls in The Expendables 2. Part of his charm was being a hulking badass, now that he looks like an old wrinkly grandpa, I'm not sure how much I like him anymore.

But this role IS supposed to be 'an old wrinkly grandpa' so this'll be perfect.
