I won't be pre-ordering it unless it's packed full of bonuses because there won't be a problem going into my local game store and picking up a copy, seeing as i've managed to do that with more popular games like Fifa 13 and Modern Warfare 3.

I think waiting for the postman to come on the day is extremley painful.
I'd feel so bad for you if you misjudged and you weren't able to get a copy. Just be sure to get there the day of because people have been waiting for this game for forever and will be out for blood if they run into any complications. At least I'll be like that anyway...

I wouldn't want to pre-order it online because the chance of not having it on release day is larger. Didn't Amazon mess up your Skyward Sword preorder Virtue? For this game, that is a risk I am NOT willing to take. ._. I'll be driving up to Gamestop to get my copy as early as possible, even if it means skipping class (and I'm a dork and I NEVER skip class). :3

I highly doubt you will skip class. The world is not due to collapse anytime soon.

But yeah they really messed it up. If I didn't buy it at Kmart I would have been waiting another week for it. (which is insane since I pre-ordered it months in advance.) While I doubt AC will be as popular as that game, it really isn't worth the risk.

You know, I think I'm going to pre-order this with some of my Christmas money, I don't want to be broke on launch day because I have no job, and then I'll be like "damn it!". I also want to pre-order PlayStation All-Stars before it comes out in a couple of weeks too, but eh. The pre-order for it is just semi decent costumes, and I could just get it on launch day or something.

I'll probably pre-order AC:3DS on Amazon or Game Stop online, because I cba to go to the store and I might not have a ride to Game Stop when it comes out, I dunno. You can easily get games at launch at Walmart too so yeah, I just don't want to deal with the Game Stop people with a pre-order. .-.'

I haven't pre-ordered a game since Super Smash Bros. Brawl, lol.

I probably will not pre-order. To tell the truth, I have become so used to waiting for it by now, that I will probably wait until it is easily available at stores.

I do not have a 3DS console yet, because this is the only game I would play on it. So, I would buy both on the same day from Best Buy or Amazon or something. I can't see buying the console based on the promise that some day this game will be released.

It could take longer than we think, you know.
And then again.... Can I change my mind?

I just ordered the 3DS XL, Harvest Moon, Tale of Two Towns for 3DS, and Animal Crossing, Wild World for DS (which I think should work on the 3DS XL?). I never got a chance to play AC WW before (just City Folk) so maybe I will enjoy it. Or not. But I am so crazy about City Folk that I probably need to try it. I have played City Folk almost every day since November, 2008 and it is still my favorite game.

NOW - - as soon as a release date is announced for AC Jump Out, I'll pre-order it.

I think I must be nuts to have ordered all this at once, but life is short and I had the $$, so I decided to go for it. Hope this wasn't a dumb decision.
And then again..... Can I change my mind again?

I began to realize how AC New Leaf means to me, and how devastated I would feel if I couldn't get it within a week or so of the release date. Consequently I went ahead and pre-ordered it, despite having no release date yet. I just want to be absolutely sure that I will get it within a reasonable time and not have to wait for weeks or months after everyone else gets it.

I placed my pre-order at Amazon, despite Pikachu's and Fluidity's kind and wise warnings in another thread that there might be a few days of delay from an online pre-order. My reason was just that they are so convenient (and I was already there ordering Harvest Moon, A New Beginning and Professor Layton and the Last Specter). They will ship those two games right away and obviously the pre-order will follow later on. Now, I just hope that Amazon gets enough copies of New Leaf in their first shipment to satisfy their pre-orders.

Let me know how it goes Carole. Amazon is usually great; it's only been once or twice where I've seen them falter and it was with ridiculously popular games (Zelda, CoD). I have no doubt AC will be big but I also have more faith in Amazon than I do any other online retailer. I'll say a prayer that you get it on the first day haha. =D

When did you order Harvest Moon A Tale of Two Towns?
I honestly can't even bring myself to play that atrocious game anymore :(

And I decided what to do. Since I have my pre-ordered GameStop copy paid off (except for like 5$ left to give) I decided to have one hard copy, and one downloaded copy. I have a 16GB SD card so I'm not exactly worried about space lol but the purple 3DS will have the downloadable copy and the red 3DS will have the hard copy. That way my friend can play and I can have mine on the go wherever. Not bothering with play coins just yet since it doesn't take long for me to rack them up

I will pre-order from GameStop as soon as a date is announced, and I plan to get it the day it is released! I will actually go to the store and order it, though. I'll skip doing it online. The workers at my local GS are really friendly.

Mine too. Sometimes a little TOO friendly lol. I remember I had preordered black and white 2 and came to pick it up the morning of release, and the guy who I had first preordered it from wasn't there that day. I went back a few weeks later to get some other game I can't remember and he was there that time and he was like "did you pick up your order of Pokemon white 2 and black 2?"
Lol it was a bit weird how he remembered me after a few weeks. Back at my job I don't remember anyone once they leave, unless they're the regulars I see on a daily basis

Haha, that is funny. When I went in to pick up my order of Pokemon Black 2, the guy started telling me about how he and his kids all love to play Pokemon lol. Needless to say, there aren't any meanies that work at the GS here, and I'm quite thankful for that.

Pikachu, I ordered Harvest Moon, A Tale of Two Towns when I got my XL, back on September 18th. I can't stand it either so I finally ordered Harvest Moon: A New Beginning yesterday. I sure hope it is better! I really like Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, on my Wii. Not as much as ACCF, of course, but it's a good game. I like your idea of having a downloaded copy of New Leaf too, and I am thinking in the back of my mind, that if I have trouble with the Amazon pre-order taking too long, I will just download the game (if I can!) despite the cost and just be more careful about NOT wasting money on games like Tale of Two Towns, to make up for it.

Fluidity, thank you for the prayer and any prayers and good thoughts are sure welcome - - I would LOVE to get it the first day, but do not really expect it until two days later because of shipping time. After that I will be in torment! LOL

Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is wonderful. I love it and play it every day, I hope you enjoy it!

Oh good, and thank you!!! It is supposed to be delivered to me tomorrow, along with Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box, and Professor Layton and the Last Specter. I really liked my first two Professor Layton games and just finished Miracle Mask, so time to get some more of the older ones.

I used to be a huge Harvest Moon fan but for some reason I don't know any of the 3 you mentioned... I'm really out of the loop.

I wish I lived in a developed country so I could buy and sell things like a proper human being. This is 'my' first pre-order thanks to Fluidity. When I go to the US I love it how easy it is to get a game you want. You can just walk to a GameStop store, ask for a game, if they don't have it, they tell you "oh, but you will find a copy of this game in our store at X place". Or order it from your hotel room and have it delivered in the lobby (or in your room itself) the next day.

Here if you order a game, you can't do it from Amazon. You must use E-Bay. Shopping prices are obnoxiously high. Takes 5 weeks to have something delivered in your hands. Games basically don't exist and when they do, they are expensive as heck.

Yes Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is Eons better than any HM game I've played. Once Rune Factory 4 comes out, I may get that as well c: not to mention A New Beginning gives me a sense of such control and customization that its almost unbelievable!
