Kat actually used to be my main when the game was newer lol so I know what you mean. I carried hard with her for quite a while before they added so many characters that made her obselete.
That's becoming a problem for a lot of old champions, they're just getting outshined by the newer, more powerful champions.
quote StormBird
Not to mention Draining melee fighters so while they're wailing on you, you heal yourself and drain them too.
Oh man, a fed Fiddle against a melee champion is ridiculous. You'll be hitting on him, then he'll just drain and recover all his HP and leave you with none. So you're just like

My eyes can't do that but yeah I've been playing Kassadin and that's nice so far it's really fun almost impossible to die unless you have no clue what's going on in the world.

I was messing around with my friend as Zilean (he as Evelyn) and it was pretty funny in duo lanes.
I just put a bomb on eve then he goes in between 2 of them and explodes lol.

I picked up Udyr recently because he was on sale and I'm very happy with him, he's lots of fun. Once you have your core build of Bloodrazor and Locket then he's unstoppable.

I would have to say Vladimir and Anivia. Both require a learning curve and are challenging to play unlike something like Master Yi or Ashe(Although I do get thumbs up when I use crystal arrow across the stage and Teleport next to a minion right when it hits. Combo is op).
Characters that disappointed me would have to be Garen. I always hate playing against bulky characters so I tried him out for a couple of games and it's just not my style. However you all should check this out:

I think more of the problem is that back then there wasn't much CC characters, now almost every character has a CC so it's very easy to counter Kat. It's hard to get her ult off for longer than 1 second when 3-5 of their characters all have an interrupt.

That's a good point that I bought up a few months back, before only Morgana and Ryze had a snare and Riot then released 2 champs back to back with snares (Swain and LeBlanc) so people were just using cheesy team comps with all snares and AOE ults. Thankfully Riot seems to have sorted this problem out by nerfing AOE ults.

I play Tryn and most recently Rammus. I heard Rammus is getting nerfed but I don't know what they're doing to him. But when there's huge CC on the counter team I can't do piss with tryn late game.

Trynd is a pretty bad champion, if you're playing against competent players then you'll be pretty useless. Plus Riot even nerfed the duration on his ult which is the only thing he has going for him.
Rammus is becoming a pain, basically if he rolls into a squishy and taunts them then they're dead, unless his team mates are all on the other side of the map.

I don't think there are any useless heroes in this game. Some champions better than others yes, but if you are good with the champion you still can win as long as you do your role well.
Trynd is one of the strongest champions late game when built properly and an ok team backing him up. If you focus trynd first he'll just endless rage and 2 shot each person if its late game and built properly.
Rammus is just ridiculous and needs more nerfs, that one nerf wasn't enough.
A lot of people consider ryze and heimer bad champions, but top elo players played them and performed very well with them. I've played ryze myself and always felt he was underrated, and I win way more with Ryze than I lose.
Team makeup and playing skill/team play are more important than the character themselves once you understand the fundamentals.

I really like playing as Yi and Katarina
Yi more so, mostly because Kat can be very squishy, particularly early/early-mid game. But if you can get a good build, then she can be quite powerful.

Kat is one hell of an annoyance to lane against. Unless you can return attacks with a ranged DPS or someone...prepare to be annoyed.

For laning, so much champions can shrug off her damage though or beat her in trades.
She has a melee autoattack, so it's pretty obvious if she's going to shunpo in then you just stand next to your minions and be prepared to do a move+autoattack and you'll outdamage her with your minions. If she's only harassing with daggers, then that means she's pushing so she's susceptible to ganks.

Well if you're ranged you have a good shot, but melee's will have trouble, at least from what I've seen. Most Kats use E then Q or W (which they should), and a good few use their shunpo as their escape technique in the beginning, so it's attack and shunpo away. Give Kat CD reduction and she'll be even more annoying. Sure in the earlier levels she's not too threatening, but by 5-6 when most Kats start to move in, she's hell to deal with. I suppose it's because the champs I usually pick don't usually dish out the damage she can (Kennen, Kayle, Kassadin), before she just shunpos away. I have best luck with Kass as I can silence and slow her well, even ult to catch, but she can farm better. :S
And lately I've seen more small buffs to her with each patch, blah. She's not nearly as annoying as a Vlad, but she can harass me well. I just don't play majorly damaging champions for her as far as laning phase goes. Best for me to look for an opening and be patient.

Her Q doesn't really do much damage if you have magic resist or some sort of health regen. I've fought tanky characters just take it and outregen it lol (I used to be Kat main).
If she e's you, you should be next to a bunch of minions so that she takes a bunch of damage. If you only get hit by Q's which is pretty easy (proper positioning, the minion trick I said will make them afraid from taking a lot of damage), it cuts a lot of her damage out. YOu have to be ready to autoattack her, I've done it as even Akali and other melee champions (she directly goes straight across with shunpo, so just aim behind yourself).
She got buffs but in reality she does less damage than before. Only her ult really got buffed (hits 3 targets at 6 instead of 16). They also nerfed her AD ratios so pretty much you can only play her as AP now.
As I said, if you're in a decent elo if she's harassing with Q that means she'll be pushing minions if you're decent at last hitting. Call for ganks with your jungler. If she Q then E's away, then it's not much damage. It does ok damage if she maxes Q first I guess, but then that means she's pushing 5 creeps and deserves to be ganked.
Kayle is actually very bursty, and in truth Kayle should actually rape her with her q and e combo. You want to max q first and 1 point in e and w.
Kennen shouldn't really lose to Kat either. They also made Kat go directly straight across target with her shunpo, so once you know the trick it's really easy to predict and dmg her. She shouldn't really have free farm against him when she has a melee autoattack (you can mess a lot of melee's autoattack last hits by predicting and harassing them when they're about to last hit).
At 6, those 3 characters should make Kat's ult worthless too. Kat ult = ult away as kass = 0 dmg, Kennen = ult to stun and gg, kayle = bubble = gg dmg. etc. Kat has 0 cc.
