The "Fall 2012 Free Content Pack" has arrived or will soon for shooter Red Orchestra 2, bringing with it a new map and an overhaul to the Countdown game mode.
The new map is dubbed Barashka, and should be familiar to longtime series fans, as it comes from the original game. The version presented here is describes as a "reimagining and reworking", so it'll be at least a little new to everyone, and hopefully improved, too. Barashka supports Territory and Countdown modes.
Speaking of Countdown, tweaks have been made to "[simplify and improve]" the flow of matches and the user interface, so you won't have to struggle to know what the hell to do or understand what's going on. To get you to try it out, Tripwire is currently offering Double XP towards Honor in Countdown mode only.
A variety of other changes have been made, including chat refinements. See here for the full list.
The update should be available now on Steam or sometime this morning.
