Subject: I can't get the cheat codes to work either

Please help me...
I don't have the autoexec.cfg file AT ALL and I don't understand how to create a new folder and "add the lines to the end of it," I was concerned that I deleted the file by mistake, so I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, but still nothing.
I need the cheat code because I'm stuck right after the elevator ride from hell with no health, AND although I can see more sheilds behind the security desk in the lobby near the elevators, I cannot jump over the counter to get them (FYI I did succeed in jumping over the counter once, but didn't save lost my life to the evil "robot gun" in the cafeteria...AND CANNOT redo this feat!!)

i cant get the codes to work either for some reason i have the console 1 thing it and and press the tilde key imput the cheat and nothing

Hey how do i remove the console cheat window after enabling all the cheats ?
EDIT: I have figured this out. The cause of this entire confusion was the nonfunctional tilde key on my keyboard. I had to edit the config file.
