Hi, The hosting sticky at the top of the page is a bit outdated and none of the hosts in it seem to offer what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for a host that will allow me to have about 5-6 small websites on my account. 2 or 3 of them will have a forum(PHPBB) and each will need MYSQL. I've heard mixed opinions on GoDaddy. I don't mind paying if I am getting good service and everything I need. Anyone have any recommendations?

GoDaddy web hosting is cheap and easy, (good if you don't know how to set up web and mysql servers on your own) but not very fast. Personally, I would go with a Linux VPS from a smaller host like NickHost (that's what I use). The staff are very friendly and willing to work with you personally if you have problems or questions, and you can get custom quotes and month-to-month payment plans and stuff so you don't pay for more than you need. Plus, I don't know if it's possible to run multiple websites through one hosting service on GoDaddy, so it might get messy, whereas with a VPS, I know you can. You can also get multiple IP addresses with NickHost. My website is also much snappier than it was when I was with GoDaddy.

I don't recommend GoDaddy to anyone even if it is their only option. I have heard mostly negative things about them than positive ones.

Try something like http://www.arvixe.com (I can vouch for them - They have a great costumer support and overall the service is great).

Yes but it would just be easier for me to check it out once the site is up -.-

He also runs MinecraftLayer, and you can get VPSs and web hosting there, too. The VPSs are under the "Minecraft Hosting" tab. Despite the name, you can use the VPSs for anything, including web hosting.

If you're technical enough, go to http://aws.amazon.com - utilize their cloud server instances. You literally get a micro server free for an entire year. After that its $15/month. I host about 10 mini-sites with low traffic on it fine.
